"... He's not."
"How are you so sure? For all you know, he could be."
"I know he's not. I know when someone is lying."
"Well, that's the thing. He might not be human."
"I live with him. Of course he's human. Don't be silly, Doctor."
"Yeah, well I managed to pass as a human once!"
"..."
"Okay, yeah, not well, but I did."
"..."
"Okay, well the point is that you can."
"... Well then does John know?"
"Um... well you know what? We'll ask him about it later. For right now, we should focus on this. Now come on."
The Doctor turned back in the direction they had been originally heading and Sherlock followed him. Sherlock didn't bring up the subject again, but the Doctor could see the wheels turning in his head. It made him a little guilty that he had decided to wait on that subject instead of discussing it, but the Doctor would probably feel much more guilty if either of the Ponds got hurt. Plus, maybe some time to think would give them both theories.
Soon enough, Sherlock and the Doctor arrived to the room where they had left Amy, Rory and all the others. Looking around, the Doctor could see both humans and Fremde standing around and talking, all looking confused. Some were just sitting, but the others looked active. The Doctor also saw Rory near one of the walls, holding a phone up to his ear. The Doctor waved, but was angrily ignored, which the Doctor guessed was fair, but he probably did need to talk to Rory. If only to find out where Amy was.
"Hey, Rory!" the Doctor called, running over to him. "First things first, are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Rory nodded, holding the phone away from his ear to speak to the Doctor. "But I've still got a lot of questions-"
"That is great," the Doctor interrupted him. "Brilliant, but do you know where Amy is?"
"Over there somewhere," Rory said, pointing to the back of the room. "Some... elephant people and, um, humans... took her over to 'question' her. She told me not to follow her, I think. I don't know , I was feeling a little 'dizzy'."
"Yes, that does sound like something she'd say," the Doctor agreed. "Well, I well be right back Rory. Come on Sherlock."
"Wait, Doctor I still have some questions-" Rory called out, but the Doctor left before he could ask any of them, Sherlock trailing behind him.
Rory sighed, and got back to his phone call with John. The Doctor led Sherlock to the back of the room, searching in every direction for some bright red hair, and every time he saw some he'd head over in that direction like a freight train, knocking people in every direction, before realizing the person was not Amy and get disappointed.
Eventually, though, Sherlock seemed to grow tired of this and he took the lead, with the Doctor reluctantly following. Sherlock took him to the back of the room and there they found a door. The Doctor felt silly for not realizing that there would probably be another room where they would be questioning Amy. He didn't get to wallow in pity, though, as Sherlock immediately went in without hesitation. Not that the Doctor would have hesitated, but he felt rather annoyed that he hadn't been the one to make a grand entrance. He set his feelings aside though, and followed Sherlock.
"Hello, everyone!" the Doctor called. Sherlock was standing to the side, and the Doctor was sure his entrance looked a little silly, but he was pretty sure he made an expression. "Don't worry, I am here to help."
Amy sighed.
