Elmer inspected the hickeys on his neck and jawline... yeah there was no way he was covering that up without makeup. He unscrewed the lid of the concealer gently setting it on the counter. He gently dabbed the concealer onto the darkest areas, successfully masking them he continued focused on making the makeup perfectly flat. So invested in his task in fact that he jumped a mile high when a pair of arms wrapped around his shoulders from behind.
"You know you don't have to cover them up," Albert murmured nuzzling into the back of Elmer's shirt.
"Like hell I don't," Elmer responded, quickly getting over his shock.
"Why do you cover them up, I like 'em they look good on you,"
"Yeah but the other guys ask too many questions,"
"Let 'em ask," Albert was pretending he wasn't scared about what this would mean for their friend group.
"You sure?" Elmer turned his head in the slightest to make eye contact with Albert.
"Positive," Albert murmured before kissing Elmer softly.
So that day Elmer wore cuffed black jeans and a simple white short sleeve buttons down with a rose embroidered on the pocket. The bruises on his neck struck violently against the white button down and Albert was trying not to lose his mind.
They were supposed to be hanging out at Jack's house today so the two set off in the car with Albert driving trying not to get them killed with his frequent loving glances at Elmer. The two entered Jack's house and immediately Specs noticed.
Specs noticed everything, he was a silent observer to every bit of drama to ever go down in their friend group and he'd had his suspicions about Elmer and Albert but now he was trying to keep his expressions neutral. The hickeys on Elmer's neck weren't as dark as he probably thought they were. There was a chance no one would even notice and Specs wasn't going to ruin that for them.
Once everyone had finally arrived they started off with a classic game of Paranoia.
Romeo was the first to whisper a question to Ike on his left.
Ike laughed before saying "Race," The coin was flipped. Heads.
Ike laughed as Romeo restated the question"I asked who's the biggest dumbass in this room?" Race gasped dramatically but then took a sip of his drink saying,
"I would disagree with you but you're probably right," The group laughed and moved on to the next person, Mush.
Ike whispered a question and without hesitation Mush answered "Blink," Ike choked on a pretzel causing Romeo to smack him on the back rather forcefully. The coin was flipped. Tails.
Next was Elmer, Mush seemed to do a quick calculation in his brain before leaning in and whispering "Who gave you the hickey?" Elmer looked down at his shoes rather uncomfortable and wishing he'd covered them up.
"Don't be an asshole Mush!" Jojo called from across the circle.
"Yeah you don't have to answer it if you don't want," Finch affirmed. Elmer cleared his throat and choked out "Albert," not being one to back down from a question. Mush looked at Albert who shrugged desperately trying to act nonchalant while internally screaming.
Mush turned back to look at Elmer and muttered "Holy shit," before flipping the coin. It took Elmer a second to process that the coin had landed on heads and before he could Albert dove from the other side of the circle and clapped a hand over Mush's mouth. Mush wriggled out of his grasp though and shouted
"Albert gave Elmer the hickeys!!" rather loudly before Albert sent Mush stumbling into Blink's lap which neither seemed to mind very much.
"Yeah no shit," Race laughed.
"Wait that's cute," Elmer heard Romeo mutter under his breath.
"No offense guys but it was kind of obvious," Jack piped up. Jojo looked torn before a look of horror and realization overcame his face.
"That's who you were making out with!"
"When?" Albert and Elmer said simultaneously.
"You were in the living room with some guy and I couldn't leave my room for an hour cause I didn't want to walk in on anything I made a twitter thread about it!"
"Oh yeah," Romeo remarked reaching for his phone, and starting to read off the tweets.
"3:24 pm: Albert's got some random guy over I think they're doing the do send help. 3:35 pm: It's been ten minutes I'm extremely uncomfortable and I'm quickly running out of water. 3:52 pm: I'm going to die here and I know it... leave all my skittles to Race but be sure to smash them up first just to annoy him tell Albert I hope he's happy. 4:15 pm: I've been here for forty five minutes, I don't know if the guy is still here or not in fact I'm too afraid to check. 4:18 pm: The guy is definitely still here one of them just mo-"
"Ok I think we've heard enough," Davey interrupted.
"You were in the apartment?!" Albert asked, incredulous.
"I was very much so in the apartment," Jojo confirmed.
"Jesus Christ," Albert cursed before dragging a hand down his face and letting out a sigh of defeat. Jojo got his revenge pretty quickly though when Albert opened Jojo's bedroom door to wake him up and was met with Jojo pushing Race against a wall, something he did not wish to ever see again in his entire lifetime.
