I walked into the kitchen at home while stretching after I got ready for the day and smelt the most delicious scent ."Oh?...hey little sister,I was gonna call you for breakfast,but it seems you beat me to it." He said while dishing up."Oh...morning big brother...yeah I am used to waking up early." I said sitting down for breakfast.
My brother sat down after finishing too."Itadakimasu," we said before eating.'It has been ten months since we started working at the restaurant,it was the next year of the year we moved here,in other words the year I turn nine,it was February.
We hired three more helpers,although two work with me in the front,the other one does deliveries and my brother still does all the cooking but I do help him once in a while too' I thought.
"Hey (y/n),I was thinking that you should have a day off today and enjoy,it is a saturday after all and you are young too." he stated."huh?...but what about you guys,you still need all hands on deck!" I said."Look (y/n),I understand you want to work as much as we do,but you are still a kid, so please take a break for today,okay?" he said with a sad expression on his face."Okay,I promise to rest up brother!" I answered while nodding.
After we finished eating I washed the dishes while my brother finished getting ready for work."(y/n)!,I am going now,please take out the trash for me!" said Kioku."Okay big brother!!" I answered still washing the dishes. Then I heard the door open and close again.
I finished the dishes then went to get the trash bag and went outside.I then went down to take out the trash when someone bumped into me in a hurry making me fall to the ground."Hey!,i-i am sorry,it was an accident,ya know!" he said giving me his hand to stand up."Its okay" i said accepting his hand standing up then dusting myself off.
"Huh?...hey your my new neighbour right...uh?...hmm." he said then got deep into thought."Oh hi Naruto,good to see you again!" i said."Yeah...uh?","Its (y/n)!" i said."Oh..right i know,I was just testing if you know" said Naruto scratching the back of his neck smiling and I just giggled in response.
But then I looked at his eyes and they were all red and puffy."Hey Naruto are you okay?" i asked worriedly."huh?...oh..yeah i am fine....anyway i should go." he said turning around to avoid me asking him more questions."Hey wait,where are you going?!",I asked loudly because of the distance that was between us.
He turned around and said "Oh...i am just going home to rest up some more!,I have nothing to do so~!..." he said getting lost in thought again."Why don't we go play in the park together?!" i asked smiling.Naruto then stared at me without answering."Uh...N-naruto?" i said starting to feel uncomfortable."O-oh,s-sorry,its just the first time anyone has ever asked me to play.....haha...ha." he said scratching his head.
"Oh...okay,so do you wanna go?" I asked again."Huh?...uh...y-yeah sure i would love to,why don't we go now then?!" he said happily."Yeah okay,but I need to change first,okay?" I said."Alright,knock on my door when your done,kay?" he said "Okay!" I said running into our apartment.
After I finished changing I went to Naruto's door and knocked "Naruto!!,Come out!." I knocked for a while that i got distracted getting bored of knocking and Naruto opened the door only for me to 'knock' his head five times before snapping out of it "Ow!...ow!..ow!...ow!....OW!!!,(y/n)!!!" he screamed.
"Huh??" i exclaimed snapping out of my knocking trance."Hey!,what was that for?!" Naruto asked loudly while rubbing his head."O-oh,sorry Naruto" i said with an awkward smile while scratching the back of my head. "Anyway you ready to go?" I said moving out of the way a bit ."Yeah let's go!" Naruto answered getting out of his apartment and locking up before we went to the park.
"Hey (y/n),why don't we go to the playground and play there?!" Naruto asked while we were walking."Okay!,sure!" i answered with a smile.We then walked on the path to the playground.
When we got to the playground,there were six boys playing there already.We saw that the swings were vacant so we went there."Hey (y/n)!,let's see who can swing the highest!!", "Okay Naruto!", we then sat on the swings and swung as high as we each could and in the end......I won.
"Wow!,you win i guess!,wanna play on the seesaw?!"he asked."Of course!.". We went there and played on the seesaw with me on one side and Naruto on the other.We were going up and down the seesaw laughing and cheering.
Until.......
"Well,well,well,if it isn't Naruto"said one boy said stepping on the back my side of the seesaw,making Naruto stay in the air."Hey!,what are you doing can't you see we are playing here?!" yelled Naruto. "Well its our turn now Naruto,so take your friend and get of" he said taking his foot off resulting in Naruto coming down and crashing hard on the ground.
I also went down after he tumbled off the seesaw. "Naruto!!",i screamed heading to Naruto."Are you okay?" I asked helping him up."Yeah,I am fine,what about you?" he asked."Your the one who fell you idiot!!" I yelled. Then Naruto stood up and faced the guys there were five of them."Hey what's your problem!,me and (y/n) are using the seesaw!, go play on something else!".
"No!,we wanna play here!,so you leave,and as for you girl,i why don't you play with us instead?, Naruto is nothing but an orphaned loser!" he said turning to me.That made me boil with anger,but I need to keep calm."So what if he's an orphan and a loser, it's better than hanging out with jerks" I said in a monotone voice and a stoic face.
"Oh,who?,us?,we just asked you to play with us and that's what you call us?" he stated."Yeah,she said no so deal with it Idiots!" Naruto yelled."Shut it Naruto!!!,we weren't talking with you loser!",
"What was that?!" Yelled Naruto."You should really learn to be more quiet,you know...since no one will teach ya" he said,only for Naruto to charge at him with a fist "Ahh!" yelled Naruto as he aimed for the boys face.....Only to be flicked and end up laying on the dirt with a thud.
The boys then began to punch him and I just looked, afraid to do anything because they would find out my family's identity. Then when they lifted Naruto up to give him a punch to the face ,which was already banged up.The fist was caught and the boy who owned the fist looked at who caught it. It was a boy with a dog on his shoulder.
"Hey!,me and Akamaru are trying to relax so keep it down will ya," said the boy in a low threatening voice and his dog barking after. The boy who was about to punch Naruto yanked his hand from his grip and said "tch, Kiba!,stay out of this","Sorry, but i can't, we want to relax today and we can't do that with you guys making a riot,so keep it down would ya?!" he growled."Hm!,well I suggest you stay out of this unless you want to get involved!" he threatened.
"Then I guess I am involved if you won't keep it down" he said while Naruto finished getting up.Then the boy aimed his fist at Kiba's face,only for him to move out of it's way and punch back leading to the boy falling onto the ground.
Then the others started attacking them and they managed to give a few punches and bites,with Naruto joining in with Kiba,but Naruto got punched about six times and started to get fatigued. Kiba had to fight the most while Naruto was on one knee catching his breath and he finally got tired himself then Akamaru was punched to the ground by the boy he was biting."Akamaru!!"
'What to do?' I thought. The five boys were then cracking their knuckles getting ready to beat Naruto and Kiba to a pulp while I was watching. When one of them grabbed Naruto by the shirt and said "Your first loser" before launching his fist at Naruto. I appeared behind him using my speed and hit his neck with the side of my palm and he fell to the ground unconscious letting Naruto go.
Everyone then looked at me,in surprise."Do not hurt my friend" I said jumping in front of Kiba and Naruto."Oh~,so the girl wants to fight huh?!" one of them said "I have had it with losers today,let's finish them boys and leave this place!" he ordered.
Then the four boys came in our direction,with me at the front.One of the boys launched a fist to my face which I evaded and punched him in the stomach hard and after that he fell to the ground gripping his stomach in pain.
Another boy did a low kick to my legs,with another one doing a high kick to my head I jumped up and did a spinning kick then landed while they fell to the ground groaning in pain.
The last one then looked at them all and then at me. Taking out a kunai in the process.He ran towards me and aimed the kunai for my stomach area over and over. Only for me to evade all his blows and grab his hand that was holding the kunai and tighten my grip on it resulting in him releasing the kunai to the ground.
I let his hand go and he dropped to the ground holding his hand in pain."Just who?...._Who the heck are you?!" he yelled."I am a waitress" I said bowing to him with a smile."Guys let's go!" said the boy i punched earlier in the stomach.Then two of them carried the unconscious boy and then all scurried away.'weaklings' I thought as I saw them retreat.
I then turned around to face Kiba and Naruto and saw them staring at me.Then Naruto smiled and said "wow (y/n)!,I never knew you were that strong!, who taught you taijutsu like that huh?!" cheered Naruto impressed.'how to answer' I thought. "Um...well....when I was younger I learned some moves from a dojo where I came from....hahaha.."I said smiling wryly.
"That was amazing" said Kiba standing up and Akamaru barking heading in Kiba's direction and jumping onto his shoulder."It was just a fluke though,I got the desire to save you guys before you got too injured and my adrenaline kicked in...ha..ha" I said scratching the back of my head. "Well whatever it was it was amazing,(y/n)!" yelled Naruto.
"Oh and my name is Kiba and this little guy is Akamaru!" introduced Kiba."Well my name is (y/n),a pleasure to meet you Kiba and Aka-chan" i said petting Akamaru on his head only for him to lean into my hand."Hey I think he like you,right boy?" *bark* said Kiba and confirmed Akamaru with a bark.
"Hey Kiba,thanks for the help!" said Naruto."Like i said i wanted some quiet time and those guys were being loud,don't get the wrong idea Naruto" he retorted."Kiba!" yelled a woman.We looked at the direction the voice was coming from and saw a woman with the same red fang markings on her cheeks."oh,that's my mother,see ya guys!"said Kiba waving and already running off.
'Must be nice huh?....wish I had my parents too,but I guess i am lucky to atleast have a brother and someone to call family' i thought turning from Kiba's exchange with his mother to Naruto, looking at him in the corner of my eye only to see him deep in thought."Hey Naruto,why don't we play some more?!" i said a bit loudly to snap him out of his thoughts."huh?....oh...y-yeah....okay!".
We played for a while together. But then my brother came to fetch me and yelled my name."(Y/N)!!,time to go home!" he yelled."Oh...that's my brother!, you want to go home with us Naruto?". "Huh?....no...i mean...i don'twant to intrude so..." he said trailing off.
"Idiot!" I yelled making Naruto stare at me."We live next door to each other,so come on lets go already!" i said grabbing his wrist and pulling him to the direction of my brother."Hey big brother,this is Naruto, can he walk home with us,he's our neighbour?" i asked smiling."um..h-hi,s-sir" said Naruto looking at the ground.
My brother then put his hand on Naruto's head and softly ruffled his hair resulting in Naruto looking up at him with curious eyes."Pleasure to meet you Naruto.I am Kioku Sukiyaki,(y/n)'s brother." said big brother.Naruto then smiled before he frowned in thought.
"Hm?,what's wrong?" asked my brother tilting his head in confusion."I just thought if your name is Kioku which means memory and your family name is Sukiyaki which is beef hot pot,then doesn't that mean Kioku Sukiyaki could mean memory of beef hot pot or if it's Sukiyaki Kioku then that would mean.....uh..oh!,beef hot pot memory!" said Naruto .
"Hey now that I think about it,doesn't that mean,you are sort of like some one who knows the history of beef hot pot and all types of hot pot recipes"i said looking at my brother."yeah," said Naruto looking at me .Then we both looked at big brother and he looked at us and said "we should go home now,it's getting late,and you two need to eat" he said pushing us from behind and then grabbed both our hands as we walked home.
Me,my brother and Naruto talked and laughed while we walked home and when we reached the apartment complex we had to say goodbye to Naruto.And as Naruto went to his door while saying goodbye to us he looked sad.
"Hey Naruto, would you like to join us for dinner?" asked my brother with a smile, "huh?....really?.." said Naruto a little surprised. "Yes,of course,I cooked too much food anyway, so come on!" my brother said and I beamed with joy and smiled.
"Okay!,I would love to!" said Naruto coming to our direction and we all got into our apartment and had dinner.We talked through the night and Naruto eventually dozed off along the way. My brother prepared a fūton for him in a spare room. And tucked him in after changing his clothes,he took off his clothes and dressed him in his old pajamas from when he was young,while I was getting ready for bed in my room.
My brother then came into my room and tucked me in. Singing me the lalabye and after that went to his respective room to sleep for the night.
