How long has it been? He had lost track of time. Yet he could never erase his fond memories of her. One simplistic girl from his childhood. He was just finished his work when he laid down under a tree,taking a rest closing his eyes. Lustrous h/c hair,e/c eyes that glitter under the moonlight. Her fingers plucking the strings of a tiny harp. She goes by the name Y/N. An orphan just like him,taken by the monastery.
Despite all the similarities they had,she was nothing like him. Her eyes weren't so dull and she tried to cheer him up in any way possible,much to the other's surprise since he did push pretty much everyone away. Upon deciding their path,he picked both gun and violin which surprised everyone. The girl was fond of both music and magic,which surprised even him as well. She parted ways with him,a harp in hand as she disappear into the woods.
"I wonder where she is now."
And as if the gods heard his wish a faint sound of harp hummed through the empty forest. Granger shot his head up and frantically looked around. He found a glimpse of a hooded figure running across. The harp in hand all too familiar for him. He grabbed his case and his gun and went after whoever the hell that person was. As soon as the person saw him,they picked up their pace.
"Hey,wait!"
But as he intend to continue his pursue of the mysterious figure,he lost them upon their arrival at the imperial capital. The crowds by the marketplace were too much for him to find the hooded figure. About ten minutes of looking around and aimlessly wandering later he finnaly gave up and decided to go take another mission. He walked to the office to take another hunting work. Harith and Nana was just sitting by the corner with Miya,while Alucard was nowhere to be seen. Probably already off for another work. He lazily took whatever was on the board before he took off.
"Is it me or does he look a bit more irritated than usual?" Nana asked.
"It's granger we're talking about. He's irritated about life itself." Harith sneer in response.
"It does seems like something is bothering him though." Miya looked at his somewhat strange expression one last time before Granger walked out the door.

It's been days,and yet he couldn't stop thinking if it was truly her that he saw that day. Even Alucard had noticed the slight change. The blonde approached him,intending to figure out what's been bothering the other guy for a while now.
"You seem out of focus these days." Alucard started
"I'm not."
"Really? Then explain you missing a lot more shots than usual." He smirked upon the silent response.
"Speaking of which,the Monyian empire were requesting backup from a traveling bard?" Nana chimed in with her usual out of the topic questions.
Miya and Harith both looked at the demon hunter,a little surprised,while Granger just gave him a 'wtf' look. Alucard shrugged in response. It was very unusual,heck they never request assistance from anyone other than the ranks of the best knights and warriors. Not even wild hunters were often a choice,let alone a bard. Alucard laughed when he heard Nana mentioned the topic.
"Yeah,it surprised even Tigreal and Fanny. They said she has exceptional powers. Something about puppets and harps i think."
Granger's usual blank expression suddenly changed,his eyes lit up just a bit at the mention of harp. Everyone noticed,and Alucard thought of a silly idea.
"You seem interested." He grinned.
"Perhaps." Granger sank himself lower into the collar of his clothes.
"I can take you to her workshop if you all like. I was bout' to meet up with her anyways."
Harith and Nana both said yes in unison, clearly interested in meeting this person. Miya simply tagged along,and the raven haired male couldn't shake off the feeling that this girl could be her. Off they go to the outskirts of the empire. A small house, obviously looking like a workshop stood alone surroundings by the lush green woods. A knock and then twice Alucard waited for a response.
"In a moment."
The soft voice was soon followed by the creaking of the door,a pair of e/c eyes met theirs. Everyone else just took their time to get comfy with her appearance,but Granger was dead silent. She girl looked over to him,after widening her eyes a little,she flashed a smile.
"Come in. Alucard,right? I've been expecting you."
"Yes,i hope it's not a problem that i brought company." A simple affirmation was received as a reply.
"It's alright. I suppose i have enough tea and snacks to keep you all company."
The inside of her room was full of instruments. A piano by the corner,a flute on the table,and many more scattered around. But what was noteworthy was the fact there was a doll sitting by one of the chairs. Hair bleached out on one side and pitched black on the other. She had her eyes closed. It was,a bit unsettling to say the least.
"I assume the doll was your companion?" Alucard asked.
"Yes. I'm still trying to fix her up."
They all took a seat and indulge in the snacks and beverages she offered them. She was tinkering with the doll as they converse.
"Regarding the upcoming raid..."
"Ah yes,"
She fixed the limbs of the beautiful masterpiece,and picked up the harp. Granger was being an utter idiot just starring at the girl dumbfounded the entire time, fortunately for him she didn't notice much. Her fingers strum the strings of the instrument and the doll's eye flickered open. She looked around,before glancing over to her master.
"You did not inform me that we would have guests. I would've prepared a little meal." She huffed.
"I would Ai,but you were still being fixed."
Harith and Nana stood up and examined the doll in a split second, curiosity glazing their eyes. Asking her a lot of questions was the next thing they did before Miya told them to calm down.
"The abyss might have found information regarding us asking for your help. You should be careful." Alucard spoke.
"I have heard several stories about your powers. Have you recently just return to the city?" Miya asked.
"Recently the princess sent me a letter asking if i would be able to help the Monyian empire in battling against the abyss,seeing such matter i simply couldn't reject." Y/N smiled.
"Speaking of yourself,Granger has been starring at you for like since we got here or something. What's up with you guys?" The silvnernette asked again, simply out of curiosity.
"Yeah. You two know each other or something like that?"
"Were you two-"
"No." Granger interrupted Alucard before he could launch another question.
"It's...a bit complicated. But I'd rather have him explain it to you guys when he's comfortable about it." The girl smiled.
"Anyways the empire asked me to get you today to escort you back to the main city." Alucard spoke, changing the topic before it gets anymore awkward than it already had.
"Oh,so quickly?"
"They were a bit cautious about the abyss getting their hands to you first so they wanted to make sure you are unharmed." The blonde sighed.
"I see,okay then. Just let me go get my things first."
As Y/N left the room with Ai the little doll,all eyes went back to Granger.
"So,was she your friend?" Nana asked with a big smile.
"..Kind of.." Granger looked away,trying to hide from all the gazes that were upon him.
"Seems like you two were close for a long time." Harith added.
"C'mon just tell us what's up between you two!"
"She's...once raised in the monestary like me."
"Oh. I didn't expect you two to be childhood friends." Miya chuckled at the newfound information.
"A sunshine like her with an emo like you, opposite does attract." Alucard laughed.
"Say another word and i'll blast a bullet through your head."
The journey back to the city was uneventful. Surprisingly no demons attempted to attack. They made it back safely and everyone went on to do their own things. Miya and Alucard went to talk with Tigeral,Fanny and the princess to report and talk about further plans. Harith and Nana played by the front gate just running and jumping around. Granger, after putting his stuff back in his room, went out with the violin in hand looking for Y/N.
Another soft sound of the harp rang through the halls,he picked up his pace and went to look for the source. This time finding her outside by the royal garden. The same harp in hand as she plays a familiar melody. He called her name,and she turned to face him.
"Y/N..."
"Fate does find it's way to reunite us, doesn't it?" She smiled.
He couldn't help but chuckle just a bit. Granger closed the distance between them,and she blush faintly when he hugged her. But she too found her self laughing shortly afterwards.
"Do you still harbor the same feelings you have all those years ago?" She asked.
"Maybe so."
"You still plan to protect me,even if i am more than capable now?" Y/N asked again.
"Always."
"Y/N...i will never let anything bad happen to you."
She giggled "Then i would do the same for you too."
She smiled and pulled away from the hug,and sat on one of the bench in the garden that was decorated with flowers. After fixing the hold on the harp she looked at him.
"Would you mind playing a song with me?"
He was a bit surprised,but soon found himself smiling behind the collar of his coat,and gave her a nod. He pulled out his violin,and with her lead began to recite the melody they used to play back when they were kids.
It wasn't exactly the best music for one's ear to listen to,but Granger found a sense of nostalgia and memories that he had almost forgotten. Seeing her hand dance to create the serene and peaceful melody,and to see her smile brighten up his mood. From a distance,Alucard walked past and couldn't help but to hear the song and take a peek. He smiled
"At least i won't have him complaining about having someone else helping us."

I do have several OC for this game but they're all girls since i always mess up the boys. But anyway hope u liked this chapter. And now i'll probably be ded again for who knows how long :D
