Luke's P.O.V
Clementine eventually woke up.
"Hey, sleepy girl." I said, quietly
She smiled at me. She sat up and rested her head on my shoulder. Moments like these make me enjoy life.
"Are you hungry? I'll go get you something."
"That's okay, Luke. You don't have to do that. I'm 11. I can get my own food."
"No, I insist. Lay right here and I'll be back with something."
I came back five minutes later with a bowl of peaches. I knew she liked peaches. As soon as I set it down, she ate it all within a time period of 3 minutes. I guess she really was hungry. I chuckled.
"What's so funny?" She said to me, with a smirk.
"Oh, nothing." I said back.
The group finally walked back in the lodge.
"Hey, where have you guys been?"
"Just out. Looking around."
"Really? Cause you almost never take Sarah with you, Carlos."
I said back, a bit annoyed.
"You guys were asleep when we left. I didn't want to leave her here."
"Really? Cause Clementine wasn't."
"I actually want to look out for my little girl. It's a skill you should pick up."
"I do watch out for her!"
"The bruises on her leg say otherwise! Where were you when Jane was on top of her?"
"I made one mistake!"
"One mistake that could've ended her life."
Clem's P.O.V
"Stop fighting!"
Luke and Carlos looked at me.
Luke looked mad. He grabbed my hand and dragged me upstairs.
"Can you believe that man? After everything I've ever done for you. And he still wants to give me crap."
Luke said, raising his voice, mid-sentence.
"It's okay, Luke. I know you've done good. It's okay."
I told him.
"He's just mad."
