Sitting quietly hearing the constant scribbling of pencils and the chatter of the students, I still did my work like before.
I still did small talk with the girls and helped each other out. We ignored the whole new kids and even had forgotten about Emma for a while.
Consumed into the work I suddenly felt a tap on my desk. I look up and found a strange girl in front of me.
I took a glance at the teacher and saw he was to Into his computer to notice the new girl.
Her hair seemed to be dyed a reddish brown, her eyes a light brown. Her skin nearing tan seeing a small scar on her arm.
' that scar..reminds me of her' I thought
" hello, can I help you" I softly spoke
Not seeing the look the girls gave me, I continued to look at the strange girl with nothing but curiosity.
" it's been a while Jade...didn't think I'd see you again" she spoke
Her voice was nearly harsh since said in such an in innocent voice.
Confused on how she already knew my name and knows me I furrowed my brow. Seeing her lift her brow and out came a small dry chuckle.
She takes her hands through her hair and crossed her arms.
" no way you don't remember me? Remember mom? Dad? Remember us?" She smirked
My face slowly fell to being wide eyed. My movement had stopped as small memories of her and I crashed in.
" y-you how-"
" what a reaction? I thought you'd be more..angered..." she softly whispered yet I heard
Though I stayed quiet. I stayed shut holding my tongue. I stayed shut knowing the tears I've cried because of her.
The scars we gave each other inside and out. Balling my fist I looked away from her not wanting to see her anymore.
" oh looks like you remembered? Looks like you're mad~" she sang
" hey!" Willow spoke
Both of our attention went to them seeing a pissed off cora.
' but why? Why are you mad?'
" don't provoke her, stop bothering us before we tell" Harper glared
" looks like you got your self some friends? How cute really. But they don't know you do they?" She pouted to me
" Jess..cut it out and leave us...I don't want to cause a scene" I spoke to her
Her eyes seems to brighten with mischief but I ignored her.
" a scene?" She whispered coming down to my face
" We Said Back Off!" Cora fumes out
I snapped my head to Cora seeing she froze from my look.
" Girls what's going on with you lately!?" The teacher shouts
" apologies..we just don't know this student..she's bothering us" Lilac spoke
" who— oh! Sorry class I had forgotten our other student!"
"This is Jessica! Jessica Wilson" he smiled
The class didn't pay attention or cared enough but said small hellos
" anyways Jessica please leave people alone" the teacher sighed
She nodded and about to walk away before giving leaving her few last words.
" see ya around big sister" she smiled
Walking away I knew right then and there I had to leave.
' she's here..Nick's group looks like a problem, Ian is another...please not all at once again...shit'
Feeling Harper rub my back I had completely stopped working. Nearly being done with my work I didn't finish.
The girls tried to talk to me but I stayed silent. The memories in that house still hurt..and so do others.
Rubbing my arm feeling the small scar we'd given to each other. Nearly seeing the incident all over again.
My mind could only revolve around those. Over and over.
" Hey!"
Startled I looked up with a glare. Though seeing who it was only deepened the stare.
" well aren't you feisty?" He teased
I didn't say anything but stared into his eyes. His brow suddenly furrowed when Willow spoke.
" class is almost over"
I hummed and started to pack my things when Nick spoke again.
" are you-"
" we aren't friends, go away" I muttered to him
He paused from my words, only for a moment before sighing.
" yea but I told you I'm here to talk to you"
I scoffed as the bell rung
" I'm going home" I said to the girls
" w-wait you can't leave us" Harper spoke
Putting my bag over my shoulder I started to walk out not seeing she was behind me.
" hey wait-"
" you're nothing" Jess spoke only for me to hear
I took a deep breath in and started to walk out to the doors.
" Jade wait you seriously can't leave-"
" lilac, collect anything I'm missing today. That's an order. And I've told you, leave me and don't talk to that girl and those...boys"
I didn't look to her, but I knew she was holding her mouth shut. Hearing her inhale roughly and exhale, her footsteps began to mix with everyone else's.
' Jessica wrong time..really wrong time'
I continued down the halls nearing the doors. I wanted to think of nothing, yet she was the final push to send my brain into orbit.
' everything is to fast. To fast again...please stop please stop'
Though to deep in thought I didn't see the famous Emma till it was to late.
Feeling liquid once more dripping down my clothing. My breath hitched when hearing the familiar laugh.
" Emma for everything...you had to push your self today huh?" I scoffed
" what? You think I'd let you slide because you've changed your look? Showing off tattoos, having a temper? You don't scare me. You're still the worthless girl who attends here" she scoffed
I nearly laughed feeling my self start to boil up when I remembered what he had said to me.
' relax your self..think of me and your mother. You're leaving for good, no? So...act like it'
His fading blue eyes didn't even seem to shed a single tear. His chest was still puffed and arms open for an embrace.
I could still see his large smile the day I left.
Taking a deep breath I started to walk away soaked in the liquid when she spoke.
" See! You're still the worthless shit in this school!!" She shouts
Tightening my fist I walked out and stormed to my bike. Though I ended up groaning forgetting my helmet.
Deciding to leave it I backed out only to see another bunch of motorcycles.
' wonder who's?'
Stepping out of the parking lot and onto the road. I could only drive with them on my mind.
' if she's back...then they must have moved here...why? Of all places why here? Why me?' I thought
Reaching home I could only shower and slowly let myself drown in my endless thoughts. Each hour I'd toss and turn. Each hour I heard my phone ding, but I ignored it each time.
Drifting to sleep when hearing footsteps around the house. Startled awake I stumbled to grab something under my nightstand.
Wide awake now i slowly walked to my door and saw a pair of shoes.
Seeing they knocked yet no sound they made, I gripped it tighter. Slowly the door opened as I stepped back enough to slip through and tackle the person down.
" HEY! It's Me!?" Harper shouts
I had my gun pressed onto her skull as her eyes were wide. Basically straddling the girl and a weapon against her , she froze.
Her eyes locked with mines and hands where I could see them.
Sighing in relief I relaxed and pulled her into a hug. She slowly gave one back and patted my back.
" you scared me...all of us" she whispered
" I'm sorry" i whispered back
" I've been thinking...I-I didn't mean to be so...alarmed"
She hummed and tapped me to get off her. I did and helped her up when hearing a familiar voice
" Oh Sweet Jade!!" Nick shouts
A frown quickly came to me. Harper only shrugged and walked me down..or more of dragged me by the arm.
As we got down I could see Nick want in the house but drive way.
Cora and Willow stood like body guard in front of the house. Lilac was simply on the couch with her book bag and papers.
Cora spots me getting closer, without alarming anyone she jumps at me with open arms as Willow follows after.
" You Dipshit! You Left! You Left Me With Them!" Cora hissed
" You Were Whining With Us!?" Harper scoffed
" Uh That Was You?!" She rolled her eyes
" these idiots live beside us.." Willow spoke
I only made it to the door, already seeing they had moved in. My brow furrowed as that house had been taken long ago..but no one was ever seen in.
" Nick!" I call out
Seeing his body immediately turn to me with a smile I nearly regretted calling him.
Without a second he didn't miss a beat to be at my door.
" since when? That house had been empty but taken for a while now" I spoke
My voice staying calm yet suspicious of him
" guess who's taken the house for a while?" He chuckled
I crossed my arm and looked over to his friends simply unpacking when I saw those motorcycles.
' it's theirs...I've got an odd feeling' I thought
" you definitely didn't" I mumbled
" what? Well you're not wrong, it's Noah's house actually"
From that he turned from his name. His eyes gave me a long cold glare, but I remained neutral to him.
" I don't care, fact is..don't come here like a lost dog will you-"
" from what I saw today, you were the lost dog" he scoffed
Feeling my self being pushed back to see lilac. Her eyes seem to bore into Nick. This seemed to surprise him seeing he lifted his brow.
' why have they been so defensive today..'
" if that's how you think of becoming our friend then think again, it's rude to point out peoples reactions to other without knowing the truth first"
' as if you know the truth'
" you've been trying to pry all day, leave us alone" she spat
Pushing more in she closed the door behind her and looked at me. Her eyes weren't as glossy as I thought. Her hands were balled into fist. Her eyes were simply calm yet I could see the fire set in.
" lilac you didn't-"
" Shut up!" She nearly shouts
I stayed silent from her tone. I took a glance at the other girls as they seemed to freeze.
" Ever since Ian, you've been...ordering. You're closing up again you know that? Your sister? Since when? You told us you told everything of you! You lied! And that guy? Nick? Tell him to fuck off. Where are you Jade? Sure not the old you but at least some of the good parts you had. You're hiding everything again" she spills out
Her hands start to shake as i could only watch calmly. At least that's what they saw.
Stepping back from her and facing all the girls. I took a deep breath I thought of Jessica for a moment.
" I've told you, I've been adopted a couple of times, I wasn't lying. She's the last one that took me in before him."
" Jessica and I never really got along..her parents wanted me for money like any other would. We would always argue, fight, yet I didn't start them she would. One time she came at me for stealing but i didn't..she.." I stopped holding my arm but looked at lilac
" I was malnourished, she ended up cutting me..I have a scar..and payback she has one too. Ever since that they treated their daughter more like a princess and me like a dog on the street. There was also another but...I don't really remember him much. In the end we fought like cats and dog. Seeing her just...hurt" I shrugged
I was suddenly pushed lightly by lilac.
" lilac don't do that" I sternly spoke
" Loosen Up! You speak as if you're a robot!" She shouts
" no" I mumbled
" I'll start the work now-"
" Jade" Willow spoke
I groaned and rubbed my face.
" you know if I even let a sliver of what I really want to say or do...to much attention" I sighed
" What happened won't happen again" cora spoke
" and how will we know that!?" I nearly burst
Taking sharp in hale I released.
" everything is too fast. First her ex who may be a psycho, then these guys, and now my sister. To many events made me like this"
" You have us!" Harper scoffed
" But I've lost more then I've stayed with" i dryly laughed
" you're scared right now?" Lilac spoke
I stayed silent and began to walk away when Willow spoke
" if you're scared, we can help you. That's why we've been together for a couple of years. To help."
" then you should know when I shut down it's not because of you, but because I'm worried."
" you were so lively not to long ago?" Harper points out
" did you not hear me say I'm worried?! Any more things coming to quick and I might loose it. My sister back might spark even more arguments. Nick is starting to be suspicious of his obsession with me. He won't shut up. And don't get me started on that Noah guy! He looks like he wants to kill me?!" I shout
It was suddenly quiet when I heard a small 'finally'.
" guess we're seeing a fight tomorrow" Cora smiled
" w-What?" I said
" well...you just let out that sliver..so game on Jade Wilson give it your all tomorrow" she laughed
I stood dumbfounded of her response when Harper joined
" either way I heard from lilac, Emma also dunked you..do you really want to stay quiet? Get called worthless when you know your own worth?" She smirked
" you guys aren't going to make me budge"
I folded my arms and looked at them in amusement now.
" we didn't give her dirty looks all day for no reason Jade. Neither did we want to argue with Ian today" Willow said
" or with Nick" Harper adds
" don't forget a little of Ian" lilac jumped in
" why do you want to see me riled up again?" I sincerely asked
" because you live off thrill. You love fighting" Cora shrugged
" fine"
They all looked at me wide eyes
" didn't expect me to give in so easily?" I chuckled
" yea, you just laid down your life with your sister, then ranted on your fear and worry, now agreeing with us" Willow concernedly smiled
" what's unexpected is how we start our morning tomorrow, but don't think I'll start randomly start for thrill. I won't unless there is a real reason." I point out
" what if I get yelled at?" Cora asked
I gave her a questionable look as she shrugged
" we know you'll bite first" I sighed
Suddenly lilac hugged me tightly.
" you're so stupid you know that?" She muttered
" wow thanks" I laughed
" great now that we somewhat made agreement and made up...let's relax I'm drained" Harper said
She flopped onto the couch as I held lilacs hand and both sat on the floor against the couch.
" movie time? Sounds fine by me" Cora shrugged
She laid with Harper as Willow went to her own couch.
" personal space is nothing for you guys" she laughed
" I will come over there" Cora threatens
" no no no, it's all good. It's just nice to see this finally" she smiled
" right..."
