3RD POV
It's been a month since Cheryl and her mothers talk.
A month since Cheryl talked to Toni.
A month since Cheryl has changed, it wasn't just the talk that changed her,
and none of her friends knew why. Jason didn't even know.
Toni was desperate to find out what happened, but Cheryl would ignore her or make fun of Toni.
Though the secrets they told each other, still remained a secret.
Cheryl is now the new HBIC in Riverdale, her mother wanted to play dirty so Cheryl did.
Instead of staying the same, she changed. Cheryl completely transformed into someone new. If her mother wanted her to not hang out with Toni, why not hit with a bang. Cheryl rebelled against her parents.
Cheryl was in her room getting ready for school, it's almost been a month since she got her braces taken off. She asked for contacts and received them the following week of her asking for them. She bought make up and has been putting it on ever since.
She got ready, putting on a black crop top with a plaid mini skirt. And before she forgot her new signature red lipstick. Mother and father hate how she changed, but they asked for it she thought.
She got her phone and looked at the picture of Toni from the sleepover
"Oh TT, how I miss you so much. If only you knew what was going on, I'm just trying to protect you" she said to herself thinking no one was listening, but Jason heard her as he was passing by her room
Jason and Toni have been trying to figure out why Cheryl had changed. All they knew was ever since she came back from the front office she's changed, but now since Jason heard her they finally have a lead of what was going on
Jason texted Toni, asking to meet up at her locker
"Cheryl I'm leaving now" Jason yelled
"Going"
Cheryl came out of her room and headed downstairs. She ignored her parents remarks about her outfit. She greeted her Nana and headed to her car. Cheryl finally found the courage to drive her car. Jason and Cheryl often left at the same time
On the drive way to school, Cheryl always talks to herself
"You got this," "You're doing this to keep Toni safe"
She often cried herself to sleep, you can see the bag under her eyes, but she covers it up with concealer. Showing emotions was a BIG no for her. Conceal don't feel, don't let them know (Let it go, Frozen) lol
Cheryl parks in the front of the school, so everyone can give her attention.
She hears whispers, but chooses to ignore them. Although, they do affect her badly. Cheryl still hangs out with Betty and Veronica, but she is no longer the quiet one.
"Cheryl"
Cheryl immediately freezes because she knows that voice and her heart always melts when she hears her voice. Cheryl turns around and puts a mask on
"What do you want south side scum?"
"Can I talk to you"
"You are talking to and you're boring me." with that Cheryl turns around
Cheryl's heart breaks every time she's mean to Toni
"Hey Toni" Toni turns around and sees Jason
"Hey Jason, I got your message whats up?"
"I heard Cheryl talking to herself today. She said how she misses you and she's protecting you" "OH and how if only you knew what was going on"
Toni's heart flutters, she knew the real Cheryl was still there and she was ready to her back
"Really? She said that!"
"Yeah, so we just have to find out what she's protecting you from"
"I'll talk to her! I mean I tried right now, but she didn't want too" Toni looks down
"Hey it's okay Toni, we'll get her back"
"So here's what I'm thinking T. We get the whole gang on this because she's still close to Betty and Veronica"
"Yeah, but she isn't close to them anymore" unlike Toni and Cheryl
Betty and Veronica are actually in a relationship. The cutest couple for now ...
"I know, but I'll try to talk to her when we're home and if that doesn't work will have to plan another plan"
"If it doesn't work then Betty and Veronica will go with her to the restroom talk to her and then I walk in. I'll try to talk to her"
"But Toni, what if she doesn't want to tell you"
"Then let her, I want her to trust me and I want her to tell me on her terms"
"Okay. I'll let you know how it goes."
While Jason and Toni are discussing about their plans Cheryl overhears Sweets, Fangs and Joaquin talk about Toni and her broken heart.
"Somethings up with Toni and I don't know what it is" Sweets was frustrated because his best friend shut him out
" I know why she's acting like this. Someone broke her heart. She knows that she's hurt, but she doesn't know her heart is broken." Joaquin said
"What do you mean she know she's hurt but she doesn't know her OWN heart is broken" Fangs questioned
"Remember she told us that she liked Cheryl, well no one knows why but ever since Cheryl changed she's been ignoring Toni. I know Toni is hurt by this and she'll admit, but she's way past hurt. She's deteriorating, she's goes to the Whyte Worm to drink and is always getting kicked out of her uncle's house ."
"No wonder I saw her crying the day before, no wonder she's always at the Whyte Worm. I asked her what was wrong and she told me it was nothing and it looked like it was something. She really likes Cheryl, maybe even loves her" Sweets said
"Oh she loves Cheryl, but I know she won't admit it now because Cheryl has changed. I know she's tried talking to Cheryl, but Cheryl doesn't want to talk to her. You can see that little speck of hope in her eyes that maybe one day Cheryl will look at her the way she used to"
Joaquin May be a quiet person, but he's very knowledgeable in the love area.
"We need to help Toni, we're her best friends and we can't let her be alone. She needs us." Fangs stated
"Let's go find her" Sweets said
As Cheryl was listening to their conversation she hated herself even more for breaking Toni's heart. For doing all of this to her. Right now Cheryl wants to run to Toni and kiss her her and tell her that she's in love with her, but she's afraid of what her parents will do. Ever since the incident, she's had trouble with touch.
Cheryl gets up and head to the restroom and as she's walking there she notices what hall she passes. It was the hall where Toni stood up for her. She starts to tear up, all the memories of Toni and her start to flash into her memory.
"Cheryl are you okay" Toni's voice brings her back into reality. She look into Toni's eyes and they were full of concerned and love.
"TT" Cheryl whispered
Toni was taken back because Cheryl hasn't called her that in a long time. And she missed it. Cheryl wanted to tell Toni what was going on.
And Toni saw that HER Cheryl for a moment there.
"Get away from me" Cheryl muttered with tears and was going to walk away from Toni
"Cheryl please, I'm here for you. I've always been here for you and that's NEVER going to change. You're my best friend" Toni pleaded out to Cheryl
" I am not your best friend and I will never be your best friend. You're just a freak, a southside scum who will never amount to anything. Leave me alone." Cheryl said looking straight into Toni's eyes
If Cheryl stood there for another second she knew she would tell Toni everything. She wanted to tell Toni how sorry she is, but she just wanted to protect her. She wanted to look out for TT. But instead she walked away.
"I'll never give up, Princess" Toni whispers to herself.
Toni walks the other way in tears. Not what Cheryl said because she knows Cheryl didn't mean that. Or did she ?
"Toni" Sweet Pea called out
"What is it" Toni turned around in tears
"Oh my goodness what happened" Fangs comes rushing to her side
"Nothing, happened. Leave me alone"
"No Toni, not that this time. We're your family and we'll always be. You need someone by your side right now and there's three of us wanting you to cheer you up and just listen to you." Joaquin stood in front of Toni so she wouldn't leave
"No you don't get it" Toni cried out
"Then tell us. So we can know whaat you're going through" Sweet Pea said
"That's not Cheryl anymore. Tha-"
And before Toni could even finish her sentences, she broke down. She couldn't handle it anymore, and her 3 best friends were right there to hug her and be there for her.
Cheryl isn't Cheryl anymore. She doesn't like me.
She still hoped and wouldn't give up, but Toni had to tell herself that to rest her heart. To give her heart a break, but boy did it hurt and it will only hurt more.
~~~~~THE BLOSSOMS HOUSE~~~~~~
"Now that was a riveting service, wasn't children" Father said
"Yes father it was, really enjoyed the message" Cheryl said
"It was great father, good job" Jason smiled
"Jason why don't you assist your grandmother to her room. Cheryl, your mother and I will like to have a word with you"
Jason nodded and walk towards his grandma to strolled her into her room. Jason wanted to hear what they had to tell Cheryl and while walking to Nana Rose's room. Nana Rose told Jason to stop and to go closer to the room his parents and Cheryl were in.
The door was slightly open, Jason and Nana Rose were able to hear them
"Now Cheryl have you done what we told you to do" Cheryl's father asked
" yes father, I have"
" but now we see a new problem rising up" he said
"There's no problem father" Cheryl said
"Although your outfit choices have been out of the ordinary, I have not seen you with the nice lad Nick" He stated
Cheryl froze as soon as she heard his name.
"Now I set up a date for you two this weekend, make sure you two end up dating because his family is loaded with money" He said
"No" She replied back to her father
"What did you say"
"No, I don't want to date him, not for your selfish needs"
He turns around and slaps her"Don't you dare talk back to me like that. I am your father and THIS IS NOT A CHOICE" he yelled
Penelope in shock of everything, she wanted to yell and protect her daughter. However, after everything he's done to Penelope, she's too scared
CHERYL'S POV
My father has never hit my before, my life is a living hell. I can't tell him or anyone. I run out of the room, heading to mine when JJ called me
"Cheryl, we need to talk" JJ said
"What JJ" i didn't want to talk to anyone. I just wanted to stay in bed and be alone. Like how I'm meant to be
"What happened with you and Toni"
"What do you mean, nothing happened between us. Is that all you wanted to know" I tried to end the conversation
"Something did. Why aren't you close with her anymore? Why did you change in general?" He tried to get an answer
If only he knew, if only he knew what Nick took from me or what our parents were doing to me.
"People change Jason. Toni was just a friend, whatever you think we had was childish and stupid. And I didn't mean what I said to you about me liking girls. That was a lie. I never liked girls. Heather was just a faze and Toni was a friend. But I've realized she's just a Southside scum. I mean even you said it Jason, now get out of my room" I yelled at him
He leaves without saying anything.
Mother is right, I'm just a loveless monster. I deserve nothing. I go to my restroom and look at myself in the mirror. I am ugly, I am just this freak who no one will love. I cry at the sight of myself, I look back and remember that event that happened almost a month ago. Some of my bruises are still there, but most of them have faded.
It was a church event a month ago. Father had told me to invite my friends, but I didn't want them to go because I didn't want to go.
I had just gotten my braces off, the dentist took them off a bit earlier.
"Cheryl, Jason time to go" Father said
I head downstairs and we go to the church event in greendale.
"Father who will be going to this event" Jason asked
"Some important people from a church event we went to. Now there's this family the St. Clair's will be there, I want you all to be on your good behavior. Cheryl, the St. Clair's have a son and I want you chat with him." Father persisted
"Yes father" I said.
I know they're trying to get me to date him, and I had to.
We go to the event, and I can automatically tell who the St. Clair's were. We walk out of the car and make a dramatic entrance. All eyes were on us, which was a good thing.
I see a okay looking guy and I'm assuming it's Nick
"Good evening, Mr and Mrs. Blossom, who is this lovely young lady next to you" Nick came
"Good evening, Nick. This is our daughter, Cheryl Blossom. Go on you two and talk" Father pushed me towards Nick
"Hello, beautiful" Nick said while we were walking
"Cheryl, my name is Cheryl" I say
"Okay Cheryl, tell me about yourself" he says
"Someone as beautiful as you must have a boyfriend." He continued
"No, I don't have a boyfriend" I wish I was dating Toni. I thought myself
We get to the bar and he hands me a drink
"That's a tragic isn't it, here's a drink. Incase you are parched."
I smile and drink it all up because I don't want to be here. I'm nervous because his smile looks innocent, but I can tell he's up to something.
"Why don't we talk with Jason" I say when I see Jason
"Oh no it's fine, you and I could just chat together"
A couple of minutes later, everything starts to look fuzzy. I can't thinks straight, well obviously because I'm not.
"Nick is everything fuzzy looking to you too" I say
"Oh no, you don't look good Cheryl. Here why don't I take you to a room to rest. I'll let your parents know." He says while leading me to a room
I can't walk so he carries me. And after that all that everything went black.
I wake up and I automatically panic. I don't know where I am, but I see someone right next to me. I look at my body and all my clothes were gone. I was naked and to the body was moving putting on clothes.
"Tell anyone Sharon and I'll ruin your family's image"
Oh no... he raped me. As much as I wanted to change who I am, I cannot. I am still the same Cheryl not the new HBIC I want to be. I am afraid of what he or what my parents will do if I yell at him or even hit him. I put my clothes back on and ran out.
I'm just the same old helpless Cheryl.
Shiver ran down my body, never in life did I think I would get raped.
Sure I was bullied and neglected, but never thought this would happen to me. I go open a cabinet from my bathroom, and hidden in there is a box. Inside the box is full of stuff, I would use to self harm. Ever since Toni came into my life I had stopped, but since now my body is craving for it. I don't want to feel the pain from Nick or what's going on in my life and this will take it away.
I shouldn't be doing, but I have to.
