I hadn't seen Percy since the school incident but I found out that Kelli was the
one who set fire to the school. She was a crazy fire booming cheerleader and
Percy just had fled the scene in panic. But after all these months of knowing
Sally and Percy I had given up on their secret. Then Sally fit a call during one
of our dates and I knew something was terribly wrong by her facial expression.
She whispered something into the phone before snapping it shut. She glanced down
at her coffee and began to cry. I put my arm around her to comfort her.
"what happened" I asked she let out a sob before blubbering "Percy's missing" if
anyone asks, say I took the news well but the truth was I didn't. Percy was like
a son to me and the truth is i was shocked with the news of his disappearance.
" let's call the cops, maybe they could find him" I said reaching for the phone
but she stared at me wide eyed
"No"
Didn’t she want to find her son? Didn't she want to see him and make sure he's
okay? She saw the look on my face and back pedaled
" I already called a detective" she was lying I could tell. " Percy's father
before he left gave me a card if this ever happened for a group of people that
find kids like Percy" she explained. kids like Percy? She started to cry again
and u wanted desperately to find a way to fix here to make her happy again.
That's when I had an epiphany I was madly in love with Sally Jackson, and I
wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.
2 weeks later.
Sally has been an emotional wreck for the past two weeks and told me that she
needed some time alone. I was okay with that it gave me time to look for a
engagement ring to give her. I was in a vintage ring store knowing that Sally
liked old fashion things not fancy things when she called. She yelled into the
phone " they found him, well he found them" I could hear the happiness over the
phone soiling out of her. I could see her smiling in my head. Focus Paul I
thought. “that’s wonderful" I nearly shouted I got a lot of weird looks. "well
Paul I got to go Percy and his friend are coming over but could you come over
later? She asked pleadingly I smiled "sure thing sally see you later" I hung up
and kept on searching for the perfect thing to give Sally.
