Should I be happy that we're friends, or should I be sad because that's the only thing we will ever be?

I have loved Tyler for god knows how long. Probably eight years.

I clearly remember the day when I first saw him.

Xandra and I were playing in the playground, when I saw him standing in the corner, just staring at everyone. He was the shy kind, but now he is the complete opposite.

He is the biggest playboy in town, just like Xandra.

He may use girls like tissues, but in the end he loves the only girl he knows he can't have.

He is in love with Xandra, but she never noticed him.

Just like how truly, madly, deeply, passionately am I in love with Tyler, but he never noticed me.

Xandra is an angel. She is too innocent to notice anything wrong. Too naive to even think about this whole love thing.

She is the kind of person, who would do anything for me. And I know, that she wouldn't say anything even if I slapped her.

Sometimes, I wish I was Xandra. Maybe as beautiful as her, as flawless as her, as great as her. I wish, Tyler would feel the same for me as he feels for Xandra.

Xandra is my sister. I love her. And, I love her to such an extent that I am ready to keep my love for Tyler, forbidden.

I quickly shut the journal closed as I stuffed it in my bag.

I couldn't believe this.

What have I done? I ruined Jasmine's love story.

I am such a loser. I know Jasmine must hate me.

How did I not know about all this?

I heard someone knock lightly  at the door.

"Come in." I said, as I picked my phone up and quickly sat on the bed.

George entered the room, as he passed me a bowl full of popcorn.

I raised an eyebrow at him as I took the bowl.

"Movies night." He stated as he sat comfortably on the bed, beside me.

"Remember Jasmine, you and I used to watch a movie every weekend?" He muttered as he switched the plasma screen on.

Jasmine.

"Hey Xandra. Did I say something wrong? Why are you crying?" George asked me quickly, as he saw me crying.

I didn't say anything.

"Xandra, are you okay?" He worriedly asked me.

"No. I need to wash my face." I said, as I grabbed my phone and stood up, before walking into the attached bathroom.

Shutting the door, I stared at my self in the mirror.

My dull brown hair were a mess. My eyes puffy because of crying. My skin was very pale too.

How did Jasmine think I am pretty? I am a bitch. An ugly bitch.

A sudden thought occurred in my head, which made me question everything I just read.

If Jasmine really loved Tyler, then why did she date James?

There is only one person, who can help me solve this problem.

I picked my phone, and unblocked his number.

Should I call him, after what he has done?

He seems to be the only one, who will understand what I am going through.

Taking a deep breath, I dialled his number.

He picked the call almost immediately.

"I need your help." I said, my voice coming out hoarse.

The credits rolled on, as I stared at the screen thinking.

Why the fuck did I even agree to watch this movie?

I pulled a pillow out and threw it at George who was fast asleep beside me.

"What?" He said, half awake.

"How could you sleep? You left me all alone to watch this crappy film." I huffed out, annoyed.

"What is wrong with Titanic?" He asked me as he rubbed his eyes.

"Everything."

"Hey...that's my favourite movie." George objected.

"Whatever. I don't think I'll be able to sleep properly anytime soon."

"If you didn't like the film, you could've changed it."

"Yeah, I could but I didn't have the damn remote."

"Where is the remote?"

"You."

"What?"

"Under you."

"Oh."

George stood up from his place and found the remote.

He switched off the TV screen.

"Hey, I called a friend of mine, is that okay?" I asked him.

"Sure. Is it Tyler?" He asked me.

"No. A different friend."

"Ooh. A different friend." George teased, and I actually felt my cheeks heat up.

"Sure you can have him here. As long as you both don't have sex." He said, as he started walking out of the room.

My face turned even more red.

"I've called Tyler by the way." George said, as he poked his head inside the room once more, before completely leaving.

All the colors in my face drained away.

Tyler was coming over. How am I going to face him?

I heard the doorbell ring, and my heartbeat stopped.

Tyler was here. Oh God.

I heard someone open the door, faintly.

I could make out George's voice. I heard another deep voice too.

It's a male. Probably Tyler.

I heard George laugh loudly, and then steps on the stairs.

Tyler was coming to this room. What am I gonna do?

"Hey." I heard George say, as he stood on the door frame of the room.

"What?" I asked him.

"Your different friend is here." He said, as he chuckled lightly.

Phew.

"Where is he?" I asked him quickly.

"Eager much?" He joked, and I gave him a look.

"Just...here." George said, as Cole walked in.

I felt my breath caught up in my throat.

Cole wore a pair of black tight ripped jeans, and paired it with a plain white shirt. He wore his classic black leather jacket as well.

Damn, he's hot.

"Stop eye fucking him." I heard George say.

I threw a pillow at George. He easily ducked it and laughed out.

"Next is the lamp, if you don't leave." I threatened.

"I'm being threatened in my own house." George muttered before walking away.

Cole had been staring at me the whole time.

"Hey." I finally said, offering him a small smile.

He nodded at me, as he sat on the bed.

"Well, it took me five hours to Reach here, and you're here in like, two hours." I stated, striking up a conversation.

"I drive fast." Is all he said.

What's up with the short replies?

"Uhm, I wanted to tell you something." He started, and I could tell it was a hard time for him.

"Go ahead." I said, as I sat straight.

"I'm sorry." He whispered out so softly, that I couldn't believe my ears.

"For what?" I asked him.

"For everything you've been going through. It is my fault you fell of the stairs, and it's my fault I didn't stop Jessica today. I tried to explain her later though." He said, not making an eye contact with me.

"Hey...it isn't your fault." I said, reassuring him.

I knew Cole wouldn't leave me, just like that.

He nodded.

"Uhm, I called you here..."

"You can call me whenever and wherever you want. I'll always be there for you."

I smiled at Cole.

He's such a sweetheart.

"No, I'm not."

"I said that out loud?"

"You did."

"Habits."

"I understand."

I pulled out Jasmine's journal, and passed it to Cole.

Cole raised an eyebrow at me, and I pointed him to read the journal.

Cole slowly opened the journal, and read the name.

He looked up at me again, and I reassured him to continue reading.

He turned the page and read the first entry, the one which I read too.

I noticed Cole's green eyes moving slowly from word to word.

That was, until he read the last part of the first entry.

He closed the journal, and gave it back to me.

"No wonder." He muttered under his breath.

"What?" I could'nt help but ask.

"Tyler kept giving me that weird look that day in the hospital."

"Uhm. I don't know what to say. But there is a point which you missed."

"What is it?"

"If Jasmine loved Tyler, then why did she date James?"

"Dunno."

There was a moment of silence.

"Do you like him too?"

"Who?"

"Tyler?"

"No. He is like a brother to me. I would never ever think about that."

I faintly heard him let out a sigh of relief.

"Are you jealous?" I could'nt help but ask. I internally smirked.

"Obviously."

He isn't even denying it.

I was about to tell him about my feelings, for him but I couldn't when the doorbell rang.

I like you Cole, only you. I don't know whether it is love or not, but you do make me feel special in an oddly satisfying way. Whenever we touch, I get those weird sparks and those stupid butterflies in my stomach. God, what is wrong with me?

"Tyler's here!" I heard George shout as  I heard footsteps on the stairs.

I looked at Cole and he was already staring at me.

He nodded at me.

Tyler walked in the room, as though he owned the place.

His blonde hair were a mess, and his baby blue eyes sparkled with happiness when they met mine.

He was the epitome of a player.

With his wild looks, he could drive any girl crazy.

As soon as his eyes landed on Cole, he narrowed his eyes.

"Hey Tay." I said, smiling at him.

He didn't say anything as he pulled me by my wrist and made me stand.

Before crushing me into a big hug.

I wish Cole wasn't here now.

"I've missed you so so much. We are meeting after so long, and you say, hey." He said, as he pulled away from the hug.

Cole cleared his throat, as I sat down beside him, back on the bed.

As for Tyler, he jumped on the bed, as though this was his room.

And since he jumped, the whole bed moved a little and I took a hold of Cole's arm just to keep me balanced.

"Somethings just don't change, do they?" I asked to no one particular as I turned to look at Tyler.

But Tyler wasn't looking at me, he was staring at my hand, which was on Cole's arm.

I awkwardly removed my hand.

He made an eye contact with Cole, and stiffly nodded at him.

Cole did the same.

That was, until George barged into the room.

He sat on the big bed as well.

How the hell did this bed get so big?

This is going to be a big night, I guess.

"Truth or Dare, Tyler?" Cole asked him, as the bottle landed on Cole and Tyler's side.

Tyler sighed. He had been taking dares from Cole from a long time now.

Once, Cole dared him to make out with George.

Then, Cole dared him to dance on the song, 'Call me maybe' on the street.

Thi--

"Truth. I choose truth." Tyler said; defeated.

"Is there any girl you love?" Cole asked, and I felt my stomach drop.

"Yeah. There is. She happens to be most beautiful girl in the world." Tyler started slowly.

Oh, fuck.

"She is the only girl I have ever loved, and I am not going to stop loving her. Even if she dies. She brings the best out of me. But I know that I've got no chances with her." Tyler said, smiling sadly.

He slowly made an eye contact with me.

I looked down, not doing anything, just staring at my hands, on my lap.

Tyler isn't acting like himself.

I jumped when I heard the song 'monster' by Eminem blasting out from somewhere.

"What the fuck? Whose phone is that?" I could'nt help but say.

"Yours." Cole said, smirking a little.

"How is this my phone. I don't listen to Eminem." I stated.

"But I do." Cole said, shrugging his shoulders.

"You never told me the password of your phone, and he knows?" Tyler asked me, hurt.

"Uhm, I never gave it to him." I defended myself.

I slowly stood up as I searched for my phone from my bag pack.

I pulled it out.

Mom was calling.

I picked her call up.

"Honey, where are you?" I heard my mom ask me.

"Uh, mom. I'm at Jasmine's place." I said.

I noticed Tyler giving a look to Cole.

Cole was also showing him the middle finger.

And, George was shaking his head at the two.

"What?! Why are you there?" She shouted, worriedly.

"Mom, what's wrong?" I carefully asked her.

Cole, Tyler and George straightened up, as they listened to me talking.

"Listen, sweetie you need to get out of there. That place is dangerous for you."

"Dangerous? How?"

"You don't know where James is. He might be still there. You need to come back home now."

"What? James? No. That's not possible.  Besides mom, I just reached here. I am not coming back so soon."

"Can't you just listen to me for once? If he is out there Xandra, you'll be the one in danger. You need to get out. Now."

"But--"

"Please."

"Fine. I'm coming."

I disconnected the call.

My mom has this habit of panicking over absolutely nothing.

James would be an idiot, if he's still here.

"What happened?" Tyler asked me.

"I need to go." I said, sighing.

"Why? What were you saying about James?" Cole asked me.

"Mom said that James might be lurking out here...somewhere." I said, as I packed all my things in my bag.

"But I've never seen him since you..." George trailed off.

"I haven't seen him either." Tyler said as well.

"But mom wants me home." I said, shrugging my shoulders.

"I'll drop you."

I looked up at Cole and Tyler, when they said the same thing.

Both of them were looking at each other.

A staring contest.

"Uhm, Tay Tay...I don't live in the next house. I live in a different town. That's a five hours way. Besides, it's already seven in the evening, so it would get late." I said, trying to explain it to him.

"Yeah, she's my girl next door." Cole said, smugly.

I rolled my eyes at him.

"Seriously? Your girl next door? She is my bitch." Tyler said, and I rolled my eyes again.

Wait, he called me a bitch.

"Did you just call me a bitch? Well, a bitch is a dog, dogs bark, bark comes from trees, trees are nature and nature is beautiful. Damn, you think I am beautiful?" I said, smirking at him.

I finally used this. I've waited for so long.

All three of the boys, stared at me as though I had grown a second head.

"Seriously? Musically?" Tyler asked me.

"It's Tik Tok. Besides, you're the one who recognises it." I said, before walking out of the room.

I ran back into the room and picked my bag pack, before walking out again.

Cole, George and Tyler followed me out.

I moved forward towards my car, before Cole stopped me.

"My car." He said, pointing at his expensive black car.

"But I brought my car as well." I whined out.

"It can stay here." Cole said, and George agreed.

"I'll bring it back." Tyler said, as I passed my car keys to him.

Sitting inside the car, I waved at George and Tyler, before Cole drove off.

"Bye Xandra! Bye different friend!" George shouted out, and I showed him the middle finger.

Cole chuckled lightly.

"Cole watch out, I think there's someone standing." I said, as I saw someone standing on the pavement just opposite to Jasmine's house.

"No one's there. It's all dark." He said, but as soon as he pulled out of the garage.

I still think there is someone standing there.

Looking closely, I realized I was staring directly at someone's stormy grey eyes.

Those grey eyes somewhat matched...James' eyes.

I noticed that the person was smoking.

My eyes widened when for a minute, the head lights flashed and I saw it was James Cage.

The light went out as Cole drove off.

I turned around, and saw no one was standing there.

But, I just saw James there.

His stormy grey eyes looked troubled. His black hair were messed up, and he was smoking.

Was it really James? Or was it a hallucination?
