narrator's pov.
on the weekend, mingi and mayuree went out together to walk around the city. it was something that was special to them, and they sure loved it.
they even got to watch people busking, eat free food from venders, and meet their fans. afterwards, mayuree became tired.
"wanna piggyback ride?" mingi asked mayuree. he made sure nobody was watching when he intertwined his fingers with hers.
mayuree chuckled, "i don't want to hurt your back,"
he shrugged, "but you're light. come on, princess. i see you yawning,"
mingi squat down and mayuree hopped on. she held him tight as mingi supported her legs. when mayuree rested her head on his shoulder like a pillow, mingi's heart began to pound.
mingi knew the way to her extremely nice house. he had to walk her home numerous times, but he had to leave her about a quarter of a mile early, due to security.
he reached the tall metal gates of mayuree's place. he sighed and poked her cheek gently. "baby,"
his own heart fluttered to say it to her for the first time. smiling, he repeated to wake her up, "we're here, baby."
mayuree slowly woke up. mingi let her stand again and she rubbed her eyes. "i don't wanna leave."
mingi nodded, "i don't wanna leave you either, but it's late."
"go home safely," mayuree told him. mingi sighed and smiled back.
"goodnight, my baby."
meanwhile, mayuree's parents saw everything from the observation deck. her mom sighed in disappointment, muttering, "why is our daughter running around with a boy like that?"
her dad was quiet, so she kept on, "ugh, those chains and green hair?! distasteful... jiangjin is the only man for her! she'll ruin our name if she dates a rapper..."
mr. arunrakthaworn sighed as he adjusted his glasses. they both watched mayuree as she skipped up the driveway. they hadn't seen their daughter smile so brightly in the longest time. even mayuree's mother wondered if mingi was all that great.
"i don't know, honey," he doubted. "our mayuree seems so happy."
mrs. arunrakthaworn's eyes widened at his words. she might've believed it too, but it was impossible that it would ever happen...
"but jiangjin—"
"we'll worry about that later,"
