Snowflakes melting
On her ice cold form,
Cast aside with her
Kind, neglected and
No longer warm.
Frozen, she whispers.
Hollow cheeks blue,
Shrinking from
Chilled shriven light.
Foetal and curled,
Heaving breaths trickling
In rivers red, leave her not
In this deathly blight.
Frozen, she whispers.
Shattered bone clawing
And grinding, caustic
Splinters no more an
Irritant than air.
She remains pertinacious,
Her oppressor drinking in
Her lowly leaden despair.
Frozen, she whispers.
Black, green and indigo too,
Are the colours of her
Dappled tremulous skin.
Her flinch with every strike,
Beginning to dim and dim.
Frozen, she whispers.
Cobwebs shiver, circling
Her wrought white wrists,
Gently soothing her howling
Soul, the softest touch that
She will ever know.
Frozen, she whispers.
Her mind seeping into an
Exhausted pit, her body cold.
Rest my little one, no more
Will you see these days of old.
Frozen, she whispers.
Her final word, that was never
Heard, a pleading animistic breath...
