with couples laughing as they hold

their faces painted with smiles as laughter
escapes from their parted lips. too much like
red wine, too red, too dangerous. arms too close,
threatening lips and and nipping teeth.
animalistic; bite into the skin and laugh.
write down those words and take a sip,
wait until that red giddiness is gone,
