the next day after school, i asked mingi if we could go on a walk together. maybe i could tell him about the arranged marriage, or at least how i feel before i won't be single anymore.
"what's on your mind?" mingi asked. his hands were in his pockets.
i shook my head with a smile, "nothing. just thinking."
"well, you wanna know what i was thinking?"
i turned to him and questioned, "what?"
"maybe... i could... um, tomorrow i could maybe... meet your parents...?" he said hesitantly and shyly.
i grinned but decided to lie because i knew the inevitable answer, which hurt my heart, "i'll check, but this week my parents might a little busy, just fyi."
mingi returned the smile and sighed, "okay. oh um by the way, i think i have a crush on you, so, yeah."
i stopped and stood on the sidewalk, astonished. he also stopped and watched me nervously. he tilted his head.

i looked down while saying, "i like you too, but i'm sorry,"
"why? what's wrong?" he walked back to me and held me to his chest. out of the few amount of times we shared skinship, this was the most meaningful time. i wrapped my arms around his waist as well.
"hey, wait, are you about to cry? don't cry," he said, muffled into my hair.
"i have to have an arranged marriage since i'm princess of bangkok." i sighed. i wasn't going to cry, but thinking about how much he cared right now could've made me.
mingi kept hugging me and rubbed my back, "fuck... i mean, sorry, frick."
i could tell he was heated. i nodded and a wave of silence passed over us. he spoke again, "...so there's no way i can be yours?"
"i don't know." again, i nodded. "could we make it secret?"
mingi chuckled and told me, "i'm sure we can pull it off..."
"promise?"
"yeah, promise." he nodded. we intertwined pinkys and locked it with our thumbs. i looked up and smiled.
hugging him tighter, he rubbed my back, "you're all mine. and don't let jiangjin or whatever do anything i wouldn't want him doing."
"okay, mingi." i demanded with a wink. mingi shrugged, "i'm yours."
