The world seems to spin as I'm staring at Minho, trying to wrap my head around what I just saw.
What I'm currently seeing.
He's kneeling next to a girl.
Who is that?
My heart sinks and I feel like I'm going to be sick.
Teagan.
I want to scream at him. I want to tell him to get away from Teagan. I want to make him go away. I want him gone, away from this battlefield, away from Teagan, away from me.
A Noctura. My best friend.
Minho has been my best friend ever since I could walk, talk, remember.
This entire time...
He was a Noctura.
All this time, Minho has been a Noctura. He never got sick, he rarely had dishes in his sink, he didn't eat a whole lot...
And all these things were because he's a Noctura.

I can't do anything.
I can't move. I can't talk. I feel like I can't breathe.

I feel myself sinking to my knees. My gun rolls out of my hand.
I can't hear the screaming around me anymore. I can't hear the gunshots and the fighting.
I can see Minho's lips moving, but I can't hear what he's saying.
What's he saying? What does he want?
He's standing up now, reaching out toward me, screaming at the top of his lungs.
But I can't hear a word he's saying.
In the next moment, all I feel is something slamming against my head before the world goes dark.
And I let the darkness take me.
