Chapter Twenty-Eight | Gender Reveal
"The more I think it over,
the more I feel that there
is nothing more truly artistic
than to love people."
- Vincent Van Gogh
Needless to say, Cèline was still at a loss for words. Five months into the pregnancy and she still couldn't believe that she was going to have a baby with Demarco.
Five months into the pregnancy and Demarco had done his best to be by her side through every doctor visit, making sure that she had all the cravings she had, even late at night, and even made sure to massage her feet and back were sore.
Now at five months they were going to find out the gender of their baby.
"Demarco, I'm nervous." Cèline said, following the nurse into a private room.
"About what?" Demarco asked.
"What if something's going to go wrong and -"
"Nothing will go wrong. This baby is healthy and today, we're going to find out if we're having a boy or a girl, right?" He said.
Once Cèline got on the examination table and lifted her dress to reveal her baby bump, resting a hospital blanket over her lower half, the doctor walked in with an exciting smile.
"Today's the day, isn't it?" Dr Townsend asked, washing his hands at the nearby sink.
"Yes, it is. We're excited." Demarco smiled, taking a hold of Cèline's hand in his own.
"Then let's get started." Dr Townsend said.
The doctor began applying the gel onto Cèline's tummy, smiling to herself. Cèline watched the monitor, biting her lower lip as the doctor began to search for any organs that would determine the gender of the baby.
"There it is." Dr Townsend said.
Cèline perked up, looking up at Demarco before turning her attention to the monitor.
"It seems you two are having a healthy baby boy." Dr Townsend said.
Demarco grinned, looking down at Cèline and pecking her lips. The doctor captured a few pictures for the sonogram before making sure that the development and heartbeat of the baby were running smoothly. Once everything was clear, the doctor left the room to print the sonogram.
Demarco helped Cèline wipe the gel from her baby bump, leaning down to kiss it gently.
Cèline smiled down at him, running her hands skillfully through his hair. "We're having a boy..."

Cèline walked through the halls of the palace. She made her way down the steps of to the kitchen to find the kitchen staff busy prepping for dinner. They came stop as Cèline pulled open the refrigerator door and pulled out a pie and was handed a fork by one of the young kitchen staff.
"Thank you." She said.
Once she was seat in front of the island counter, the kitchen staff resumed working. Demarco walked in and unbuttoned his suit jacket and sat on one of the stools next to her. He watched as she effortlessly dug into the pie. As she was ate, one of the chefs set a cup of tea and coffee in front of them.
After a few minutes the kitchen cleared leaving only Demarco and Cèline. Demarco finished off his coffee and then asked, "Are you going save me some?"
She set the fork down and said, "Sorry..." she sighed and pushed the plate towards him.
"What are you thinking about?" Demarco asked.
"Well, I know royal women do not normally have baby showers but I would like to throw one so that way all my female family members and friends can come and celebrate our baby's life." She answered.
"Sure, you can throw one, Cèline, just do not stress yourself out with the planning." He said.
"Do not worry, I'll have Talia help me." She said, as she picked up her fork and resumed eating.

Cèline walked through the halls of the palace dressed a colorful printed midi dress with black heels. Her hair was tied up into a high ponytail. She came to a halt at the door of the double doors that lead outside.
Cèline walked outside, people greeted with cursties and bows. She joined Demarco who walked ahead of her so he could greet members of the Norlandic parliament.
Cèline stood under the large white tent watching people mingle with each other. Since the star of today's garden party was Prince Ryanair, she was glad that many people had wanted to talk to him. Thus taking the attention away from her.
Demarco stood behind her and wrapped his arms around her baby bump. "Stop that Demarco... People are going to see..." she hissed as she continued to look at the crowd in front of her.
"Let them see." Demarco whispered.
"Demarco, you're a naughty man." A voice said behind us.
"Julissa, where have you been?" Demarco asked, as he stood straight and stepped to the side as Cèline spun on her heels to see Julissa stood there.
"Oh, you know just traveling and keeping with my priorities." Julissa answered.
"More like following Prince Simon of Denmark around." Cèline said, smiling.
"How did you know?" Julissa asked.
"You guys danced all night at my wedding and then disappeared before we could cut the cake." Cèline answered.
"Well, tell Prince Simon, him and I need to have a talk." Demarco said.
"Demarco-"
"Nope, Julissa, if you are going to be in a relationship with this man then he needs to talk to me." He said.
"Fine." She said.
