Beguiled
Being as it is, a boy lies awake on the forest floor. On a cushion of moss and lichens does he lie, the veinal system expanding with each labored breath
Etched into his skin, a covenant with a demon spirit remains.
Guilt stricken promises written in blood
Under the veneer of wandering souls, pale gloom pumps life back into the decimated forest
Incubus beguiles lonely wanderers
Little price to pay for sustenance
Echoes of warnings louder now
Demon spirit, guardian of the forest
