🙉Contemplating:
if you're wondering if you should even go. I would say "YES. PLEASE GO". I mainly say this towards my fellow freshman. Try it this year, if you don't like it then don't go again. But just try it out.
👗Watch your dress length:
Do not get a dress too short or long. Dancing could be a pain if they are. You don't want noone stepping on your dress and causing damage. And noone needs to see your 🐱 on the dance floor, alright? Just consider your dress wisely. You'll be in it for a while.
💰Dont spend loads of money:
Don't spend loads of money on a dress and shoes and all of that. Really. This isn't the met gala. I'm not saying walk in there with pajamas. But no need to act like you gonna be on the Kardashians. You'll only be there for 3-4 hours. Tbh there are some really cute dresses even at thrift stores.
💃Dancing:
Don't be suprised if someone might start bumping and grinding on you. I mean, boys AND girls. Of course if you aren't okay with that. Tell them to stop and move away. Or if you fine with it

But truly, you don't have to be a great dancer. Just feel the rhythm and feel what's right.
🍔Eat before:
I suggest eating before you go there. Like, 2 hours before (because farts and burps exist😂). This ensures you don't spend lots of money on snacks or incase you don't like anything there.
📷Take loads of pics:
Take LOTS of pictures. You want to remember this night in the future. Unless it went bad, then just

💏Having a date:

YOU DO NOT NEED A DATE FOR HOCO. YOU DO NOT NEED A DATE IN GENERAL. YOU CAN GO WITH FRIENDS. CAUSE YES, THAT'S A THING. IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE THAT YOU WANNA GO WITH. ASK THEM. JUST DO IT. NO NEED TO DO A BIG GESTURE. WALK UP AND ASK. SERIOUSLY
Day before: Get your rest. Especially if you go to the football game the night before. Pamper yourself and be with friends. They'll hype you up if they true💚
👠Shoes:
Go ahead and wear heels. But if you plan to wear them all night.

Bring flats or slippers or flip flops. Don't walk in heels all night. It's not good for your feet or ankles. Plus you don't wanna be dancing and step on somebody with your heel. Cause then some real shit gonna start. Don't dance bare foot either. No no no no.
🚙Transportation:
Have a dependable ride. And then have a back up. Shit could start and you need to dip. Or simply just

🍣Food there:
Be very weary of the food and drinks there. People really be sneaking shit into the drinks and food and you can't be taking no chances. Be careful. Half the time those teachers don't be watching.
🌈After party:
Some go to diners and get food or go to a hotel or have sleepovers. All i can say here is be safe and have fun (:
🌺Extra stuff:
Bring a tiny purse with a small weapon (pepper spray), medicine, school id, money and any other little necessities.
Bring a portable charger or make sure your phone is charged up all the way and not super bright(as this waste battery)
Dont try and sneak friends in. But hey, i can't stop you. You do you.
