The next morning, Reese was greeted with the bright sun hitting her in the face, practically blinding her. She pulled her blanket over her head and let out a soft breath. Her legs began to throb in pain once she turned to face away from her window. The brunette groaned, trying her best to ignore the pain that rushed through her thighs.

Struggling to fall back asleep, the brown eyed girl threw her blankets off her body and stared at her ceiling angrily. She lost all sense of tiredness and decided to just lay there for a while. Memories from the day before started rushing through her mind, making her lips curl into a smile. Reese couldn't help the smile that was plastered on her face even if she wanted to try to stop it.

Muffled voices coming from the hallway interrupted the brunette's thoughts, causing her to shift her eyes from her ceiling to the wooden door. They sounded low. It was clear to Reese that it was her brother and her dad. Due to their deep but loud voices, their conversation could probably be heard next door. The small girl rolled her eyes, shifting around on her bed to face away from the door.

Unfortunately for her, the door swung open as her brother began to yell.

"Wake up, sloth!" Luke yelled loudly, making Reese quickly cover her ears with the palm of her hand and her pillow. She tried to press her right ear closer to her pillow to block out the loudness of her younger brother.

"Get out of my room, Luke," she muttered, closing her eyes. "I'm tired."

"Nah," the younger boy simply said, walking over to his sister's bed. He attempted to rip the blankets right off of Reese, but failed miserably as he nearly fell back. She was gripping the blanket as hard as she could, knowing he would pull something like this. Luke gasped as he nearly fell, quickly regaining balance. "Why don't you want to get up?"

"I said I'm tired," Reese replied, letting out a soft breath.

"It's noon," Luke rolled his eyes, dropping his shoulders. "You have to eat. Mom and dad want to go out later." Reese's eyes shot open once she heard those words. She quickly turned her body over and sat up.

"What?" She asked. "They want to go out?"

"Yes," her brother nodded. "They want to bring you along too."

"Where, though?"

"Probably to eat or something," Luke shrugged, unsure of where their parents wanted to go. "But get up, lazy ass."

"Shut up," the brunette glared at him, staying put in her bed. "I'll be out in a few. Now get out of my room." Without another word, Luke made his way out of the room, dashing out of there as quick as he could. Reese sighed to herself, sitting up slowly. Her body started aching which caused her to cringe slightly. She held her breath as she forced herself to stand up.

Figuring the pain wouldn't stop right away, Reese decided to walk as normally as she could. All the walking she did with Mitchel was starting to get to her for some odd reason. Once Mitchel popped up into her head, she remembered the hoodie he bought. She hung it behind her door and made her way over to where the hoodie was. She felt the soft material once more and felt a wave of comfort and happiness rush through her.

After a few moments, she decided she should go talk to her parents. She twisted the cold door knob and began to step out, being greeted by the bright sun shining through a window in the hallway. She squinted and raised her hand above her eyes to shield the sun away.

The voices of her parents and brother grew louder as she made her way to the staircase. The stairs creaked softly every time she took a step, slowly dragging the attention of her family members onto herself. Once she got to the bottom of the stairs, her feet padded over to the kitchen where everyone was at. The conversation they were having came to an abrupt stop by the time she entered the room.

"Good morning, Reese," the older woman greeted. "We made breakfast."

"Morning," Reese replied, her voice slightly raspy. She gave her mother a soft nod. "Okay. I'll eat in a bit." The woman nodded, giving her daughter a soft smile before continuing on with eating. For some reason, the silence and tension of the room was sharp. Reese looked at her family over her shoulder as she opened the refrigerator, feeling as if all eyes were on her. Just as she expected, they were all eyeing her.

Reese sighed loudly, lifting her shoulders and looking up at the ceiling before turning to face them. "Yes?" She asked, raising her eyebrows softly. Immediately, they all took their eyes off of her. The brown eyed girl rolled her eyes. She wanted to pry into their heads and continue asking, but she managed to contain herself. With that, she turned back around and continued to dig through the fridge for anything cold to drink. Her throat felt a little dry.

"Reese," her father spoke up with a sigh, catching his daughter's attention. "How do you feel about going out today?" The brunette stopped looking through the fridge and slowly faced her father. If she had to be honest, she didn't really want to leave the house.

"Where?" She asked him, slightly raising her eyebrows as she looked at him with slightly droopy eyes.

"I don't know," he shrugged, taking a bite of his food. "You can decide. Just anything you would want to do today."

Her mother glanced at her a few times in the moment of silence while Luke did his best to avoid eye contact by picking at his food. The older man was just looking at her, waiting for her to respond.

The young girl sighed, shifting her eyes away from her father. "I don't want to do anything today." Hearing this caused her mother to slowly look up at her nervously. She knew Reese wouldn't want to leave anywhere, but she was hoping her daughter would agree at least this once.

"Are you sure?" The older man asked calmly, raising his eyebrows at her. "I mean, there's tons of things we can all do as a family."

"I get that," Reese nodded, looking around the kitchen to find something that could potentially keep her busy as this strange conversation went on. "But I don't feel like doing anything."

"Weren't you doing something yesterday?" Luke asked, jumping into the conversation between his sister and father. Reese nodded, humming softly. "Then you could come along today, too." The older girl raised an eyebrow at her younger sibling, almost as if she was saying "excuse me" through her eyes. He met her eyes and looked at her for a moment before shrugging.

"I'm drained from yesterday," she replied, crossing her arms as she decided to lean against the counter. "I'd rather spend the day sleeping." The older woman and man sighed softly, turning away from their daughter.

"Don't you want to spend time with your family?" Luke continued on. Reese glared at him intensely, letting out slightly heavy breaths.

"I do," she responded through gritted teeth. "But I just want to rest today, Luke." The young boy rolled his eyes and sighed in annoyance.

"You rest everyday," he muttered. That was enough for Reese to slam her fist down on the counter harshly. A rush of pain hit her immediately, but she didn't care. The sound caught everyone in the room by surprise, making them all look at the brown eyed girl in pure shock. They've never seen Reese get this angry at Luke before.

"You wanna say that louder, little boy?" She laughed angrily. The brunette didn't know why this was how she was acting, but she couldn't find a way to stop. The siblings met eyes and Luke shook his head softly, remaining quiet. His eyes showed shock and fear all in one.

"Alright, alright," their father stood up from his chair, looking down at his feet as he slowly made his way over to Reese. He sighed as he rested his hands on her smaller shoulders. "Look, we just want to take you out. It hopefully won't take so long, so you'll have time to sleep in. And in return of doing this, none of us will bother you at all tomorrow. Sound like a good deal?"

The older girl thought for a moment, staring at her dad with furrowed eyebrows. She mostly wanted to agree just so she could be left alone. But at the same time, she thought against it.

Fuck it, she thought. How bad can this even be?

"Fine," she responded, sighing. She pulled her attention away from her dad and looked over at her mother and brother who both looked relieved. A soft smile began to form on her father's face. He rubbed her shoulder in a comforting manner as he dropped his other hand to his side.

"I promise you it'll be fine," he said. "We won't do anything that you don't want to do. We just miss going out with you almost every weekend." Reese nodded, dismissing herself from the kitchen. She didn't even want to eat anymore. The brown eyed girl glanced at her family members one last time before hurrying up to her bedroom.
