hinting neither of compliments nor elation.
Heart in a cage, he searches for distractions,
found not in a happy place but in depression.
An unused canvas, splashed with paints,
his dark circles evincing nights spent in vain.
His eyes wander over to the reflection again,
and he sinks into the velvety of his bed utterly in pain.
