Hey, hey! Sorry it took me a while but tadaa! Here's the latest chapt of YIAMS. It was supposed to be uploaded earlier but due to exams I had, there was no time.
Anyways, thanks to anyone who's been patiently waiting and still reading from the beginning. I'm pretty sure I lost some of you since I took too long to updated but I also know that I gained a couple of readers. You guys are amazing!!! This story has actually reached 4000+ reads!!! I love you all!

Now, before I start boring you with this author's note, here is the story.

I don't know what I'm doing here. Emily has basically forced me to get dressed earlier after she interrupted my peaceful walk and dragged me home. I wasn't in the mood to argue back so now, here I am, all dressed up, even put on my cowboy hat, a drink in one hand and.....nothing. I was just standing there, leaning against the wall watching people talk and dance.
They always held a small dance to celebrate something or someone. We have it every Christmas, someone's birthday, job promotion, anything really. So, this is basically on almost every night. Usually, it's kept small with just families and friends. But somehow word got out me and the guys were here so almost everyone in town came. It's nice to see people I know and don't know but I sort of wish it was just my family.
I rarely see them since I'm usually on tour with the band and now that I do see them, I think it's better to spend it with just the family. Emily did get easily annoyed nowadays and now adding with her sharp remarks. She might not like the guys but she did hang out with Carlos the other day. I always thought that of all the girls, I might actually understand my sister well enough to know what she's thinking but I guess just like other girls, she's complicated.
Argh! I have to stop worrying about her. She's a teenager now........and the chances of her getting hurt is higher. The guys always drag me out whenever I start to worry too much. I need my own time to live my own life. But hanging out with them was fun, takes my mind off things.
"You seem like you're having fun."
I turned to see a girl with brown hair, smiling at me. It was clear that she had no interest in these kinds of occasion. I got lost in her brown eyes instantly. Before I could lose myself, I quickly composed myself and gave her one of my best smiles.
"Yeah, it's been a long time since I've been to one of these."
Smooth James, smooth....
"Really? They had it last week."
"I wasn't here last week," I told her.
"Not from here?"
"No, my Aunt lives here. My family visits once in a while," I said, flashing her a smile.
"Why else would we be here?"
I turned, surprised to see Emily. "What are you doing?"
"Hmm, me? Nothing much," she shrugs. "So....who you got here?"
"Should I leave you two alone?" the brown haired girl asked.
"Oh no, it's okay," I quickly said, shooting Emily a look to go away but she just ignored it.
"Nice.....what are you wearing?" Emily asked, eyeing her up and down, making her uncomfortable.
"Umm....clothes?" she answered.
"Clearly..." Em muttered.
"Emily, quit it," I hissed at her.
"Oh, how rude of me, I'm Emily," Em said, shaking the girl's hand.
"J-"
"Marissa!" Em said, calling out to another girl.
A girl with brown hair searched the crowd when she heard her name. Her blue eyes lit up when she saw us. I internally groaned, Marissa is a sweet girl by she's as bad as Emily.
"Hey, where've you two been? James, welcome back," she said happily, giving me a peck on the cheek.
I smiled back at her, "You know, places."
"I should go," the brown haired girl said.
"Wait! You don't have to," I said, trying to stop her.
"It's okay, you seem busy," she said, before leaving.
I turned back to the two brown heads with me, "Thanks a lot you two."
"For what?" Marissa asked, confused.
At the same time, Emily smiled cheekily, "No problem."
Glaring at her, I finished my drink and left to get more. I hoped I got to see the girl again. I realized I never got her name. Damn it, Emily! I didn't get her name let alone her number. I filled my cup and quickly downed it.
"Hey man, we're up," Carlos came up and told me.
"Up for what?"
"You didn't know? We have to perform to say thanks for all of this," he gestured to the whole party.
"Right...."
I followed him on stage where Logan and Kendall was already getting ready. I took my place next to Carlos and noticed and empty seat in between me and Logan. I guess we're singing Worldwide.
"Hello everybody," Kendall said, waving at the crowd. There were cheers and a couple respond as I smiled at everyone.
"So tonight as thanks to you all for arranging this amazing party, we are going to sing one of our songs to you," Logan said, grinning. More cheers came from the crowded.
This wasn't as big as our normal concerts so we could see the crowd more clearly. I recognized some of the familiar faces through the crowd which made it slightly better than our usual concerts.
"But we need someone up here to sing with us but who could it be?" Carlos said, pretending to think. I spot Emily rolling her eyes just before she disappeared.
"What about the beautiful Mrs. Maslow?" Carlos suggested.
The lights went to Mum and I could see her go red as she shook her head. "Oh no thank you."
"Come on Mum, don't be shy," I said.
"No no, I can't sing."
"Well what about Emily?" Logan said. "Beautiful just like her mum."
I shot Logan a look and he just shrugged. The spotlight quickly went to Emily and she was caught by surprise eating some of the food.
"Well, she seems a bit busy," Kendall said, earning a glare from from her.
"Okay, my turn to choose," I quickly said. "Eenie meenie minee-"
I saw Emily pointing to the brown haired girl from earlier. She turned to Emily giving her a weird look when she realized it.
"You," I pointed to her.
The spotlight landed on her and she quickly tried to avoid it. She moved from side to side but the spotlight followed her effortlessly. She sighed and moved to the front of the stage.
"You know I can't really sing so...."
"It's okay, you'll be singing with us," I told her, patting the empty seat next to me. "Come on."
She got on stage hesitantly and sat down.
"So what's your name?" Logan asked.
"Jane."
"Well, I'm James and -"
"Yeah, I know who you are," she said, cutting me off.
"Okay then, let's start."
The music played in the background and....
[James:]

[Kendall:]

The song ended with a blushing Jane and a cheering crowd. I gave Jane a wink and led off the stage. But not before giving a now to the crowd with us. As soon as off stage, her friends, I guess, came to her and quickly talking about the whole thing.
I figured it was now or never so I gathered up my courage and went to her. Her friends noticed so they left to give us some space but not before giving her a some 'subtle' signs.
"Nice show," she said.
"And you made everything better," I told her.
She blushed, "Well, I won't actually say that...."
"So, I was wondering if you would like to have lunch with me tomorrow?" I asked.
"Are you asking me out?"
"Yeah, what'd you think?"
"Sure, why not. Just give me a call," she said, before leaving.
I grinned, watching her. I did my happy dance but quickly stopped when I saw my favourite girl.
I wrapped my arms around her shoulder, "Hey Ems."
"So you asked her out."
"Yup."
"She said yes."
"Yup and she even said to give her a call," I told her happily. I wasn't sure why I was so happy, maybe it's from all the drinks I had.
"So you got her number?"
I stopped. Damn it, I forgot to asks for her number. I quickly searched the crowd but couldn't find her. Great, this is just-
"Smooth James," Emily said, patting my shoulder before walking away.
Damn it! I went to look for Jane, hoping to find her in the crowd.
