I sighed as I remembered that I was coming home to an empty house seeing as Shawn's flight was delayed and I won't be seeing him until tomorrow.I opened the door and a slight gasp left my mouth.I looked around the hallways as candles made a pathway leading outside.I look down and see a rose.I pick it up slowly as I start to follow the candles.I admire the rose until I step outside and see more roses.I pick every single one carefully until I have a bouquet of roses.The pathway leads me to the treehouse that both me and Shawn had built.I climb up and I am met with Shawn.He smiles at me and starts starts strumming his guitar as I make myself comfortable.
I wipe away the tears from my eyes as I walk over to Shawn.I embrace him in a hug after he puts down his guitar.
"Happy Valentines day love"I look up at him and kiss him.
"I love you so much"I said pulling him away.I got up and felt around my purse until I finally found what I was looking for.I held the small box close to me before I faced it to Shawn.He smiled brightly at me as I could see tears forming in his eyes.
"No i'm not proposing to you yet but this is a promise ring.You have been the greatest blessing of my life thus far and I could not thank you enough for all the small gifts and the unforgettable memories that you have given me.I will cherish all our time together because I have never been happier in my whole life and it's all thanks to you.I promise to help you when you need it.I promise to be patient with you.I promise to take care of you whenever you're sick or you're not feeling 100%.And most of all I promise to love you"I said as I slipped the ring through his finger.I looked up at him and he had tears running down his eyes.
"Baby don't cry"I said as I wiped his tears away.He gave me a hug before he stood up.I looked at him confused and he just smiled before pulling something out of his pocket.I looked down at the box as he opened it revealing a ring.I felt myself tear up as he started speaking.
"The past 2 years have been the greatest of my life.I have never loved anyone as much as you and I have never felt the love that you have given me with anyone else.I used to be naive when it came to love only seeing it as a way of heartbreak.But ever since I met you I found out what love truly is.You opened my eyes to a new world and I have never been happier.I love you so much so I will promise to love you,protect you,and make you happy just as much as you make me happy"He slipped the ring through my finger.I admired the ring before I brought him in for another kiss.I pulled away leaning my forehead on his.
"I love you"We both said at the same time which caused us to break out into smiles.
