was it the day i saw the smile?
the way i looked in those eyes
saw those blinding sparks
and wondered to myself,
what am i supposed to do
now that this is here?
was it the moment i spoke?
the way the voice curled in my ears
speaking to me softly
killing me gently with those kind-hearted
heaven-sent words
and my head went sky high.
was it the moment they touched?
palm against palm
and locked together in a way
that made me feel that they would
never, ever, ever break apart
and it made me feel safe.
was it the moment the other ones touched?
lip against lip
matching like puzzle pieces
another piece, another part of my life
and it was because of that mouth
the one i loved so.
and then i ask myself:
am i worthy of that smile?
those eyes?
that voice?
those hands?
that wonderful kissing mouth?
remind me again
(so i no longer have to ponder)
why your eyes met mine
why your voice tangled with mine
why your hand held mine
why your lips touched mine
and why your heart
chose mine.
please tell me
it's not a dream.
