Yuya's POV
Mom couldn't stop showering my cheeks with kisses as we all stood before the entrance. "Okay mom this is embarrassing," I moaned trying to push her off.
We both just laughed as she kissed by cheek one last time. "I'm just very proud of my baby boy," She smiled widely. "Do your best and show everyone your amazing smile!"
"I'm afraid that won't be happening," That voice. We all turned to see Prince Declan accompanied by his body guard. "Due to the nature of lasts night attack, I cannot allow the tournament to continue. This has been agreed with his Majesty of Paradise kingdom." I looked at Yuto who seemed almost guilty. I grabbed hold of his hand, stroking it with my thumb. Declan continued to explain today would be an exhibition match between Jack Atlas from Syncro and Kite from XYZ. "By order of his majesty you have been ordered to attend a meeting with him this evening. From there he will shine more light on the situation. Please be ready for the cars to escort you at 17:30."
With that Declan left and we were all stunned. Where do we go from here? The Arc League has been cancelled, what are we expected to do? Well, I guess we go home and wait for the cars. I looked up to see my mom with a sad smile on her face. "Mom," I asked. "Are you okay?"
She gave a nod. "Of course," She said. "Why don't you kids come back to ours for while? We could all do with some cheering up, I think."
Mom seems a bit off. She only ever seems this way when someone mentions dad. When he left, my mom was broken for months before she finally smiled. A part of her healing was rescuing strays and somehow, we ended up with 6 so far. I don't think mom realises a pet won't be able to give her the same kind of love dad could.

In the end, Yuto and Yugo came back to our place, Ray and Yuzu went back home with Skip while Crow and Shay said they needed to do some investigation into this whole thing further. Emi groaned as she hung up the phone, since we got back she's been trying to contact Suzuha. Texts, voice messages, video calling, she tried it all. "Still no luck?" Yuto asked as he grabbed his tea from the table. "Perhaps she stayed for the exhibition match."
"Suzuha would tell me," Emi sighed lying on the floor. "She's not answered my calls. Remember about 3 years ago when i had a panic attack at 2:43am and she still picked up and brought a tub of ice cream with her."
That was very true. I placed a finger on my chin as I tried to think where she could have gone. "I haven't heard from Crow," Yugo muttered, trying to get my attention. "Where ever he and Shay have gone off to is beyond me."
"Maybe they went to go look for Yuto's Dark Rebellion," I brought up the idea which made Yuto seem a bit hopefully. "Perhaps if we find it and get the person who has it, we have a better chance of knowing what's going on."
"How about we watch a movie?" Yugo suggested. "To get our minds off things and pass the time?"
We all agreed and mom decided that now would be a good time to try out her chocolate popcorn recipe. Yugo move position, deciding to sit on the sofa chair while I sat on the sofa with Yuto's head in my lap. He's still been a bit off since losing Dark Rebellion. Last night I heard him mutter the word 'bond' a few times. I haven't taken any notice of it but I'm wondering if I should. I mean, would the same thing happen to Yugo if he lost Clear Wing? Lately, I don't know what to think.
"Um Yuya," Emi nudged my shoulder slightly. Suddenly I noticed soft snores from my lap and the sofa. "Seems our guests are sleep. Why don't you go take a nap?"
I looked down to see Yuto sleeping peacefully. As much as I don't want to move him, I really want my bed. "Can you call me when lunch is ready?" I asked carefully moving forward as not to disturb Yuto.
"Of course," Emi ruffled with my hair before I went upstairs.
I just hope that when Yugo and Yuto wake up, they don't start any arguments. It was good of Shay and Crow to let them come back to our home but with everything going on, I'm surprised they aren't trying to guard them a bit more. I removed my goggles and jacket before laying on top of the bedding. I sighed as I let the slumber take over me.
It's dark. Why's it so dark? I rub my eyes hoping that might help but still nothing. I start to wonder aimlessly, hoping I might bump into something. I walked with my hands held out in front of me, trying to feel for anything. I squinted as I saw a small light in front of me. As I walked closer I noticed a card of the floor. Leaning down to pick it up I noticed it was Odd Eyes.
Is Odd Eyes trying to show me something? I felt a feminine voice come from the light so I walked closer to it. I couldn't catch my breath and I felt as though I was being dragged by my whole body. When I next opened my eyes, I was in a bedroom and on the bed was a young looking Yuto. He must have only been around 4 years old. "Yuto," I whispered leaning forward to touch him however my hand went right though, almost like a ghost's would. I'm so confused. I don't understand what's happening.
I watched as a shadow walked into the room. I couldn't make out any facial features but could see it was a woman. She seemed to be humming as she sat down on the bed. "What you see before you is a memory," I gasped turning around in a panic, seeing another female figure covered in a while robe. I can make out some blonde hair pocking from the front of the hood. "What you see if one of young Yuto's last memories before he was taken."
"Taken?" I questioned. There I stopped, why was this happening? Was it because of Odd Eye? This woman? Who is this woman? "Why am I seeing this?"
"Because you are the closest person to Yuto," The woman spoke and she turned me around. I continued to watch as Yuto sat in the shadows lap, reading a book with her happily. Looking around the room, it looked similar to mine. It was royal or grand, it was a normal house. "Yuto is not a royal family member but a boy who had been chosen by a great power."
Why is this getting more confusing by the second? "Wait," I started turning back to the woman. "Why is the woman in shadow then? I'm assuming that it's his mom."
"You're correct," She sighed. "However, his memories have been altered to believe that this was not his life." My eyes widened. There had to be some sort of mistake! Yuto seemed to fit royalty perfectly, he was strong, caring and smart but none of that was real? Do I, do I even know the real Yuto? The woman removed her hood revealing her blonde spiked bangs and long brunette hair. "Yuto is the descendant of the King of Shadows, he who once saved the world centuries ago."
"Why do you know all of this?" I asked tears starting to form. Why?
"I am the sister of the king as well as the one chosen by the shadows to protect the descendant," She explained. "I am also the one who gave Yuto his Dark Rebellion Dragon as instructed by my brother."
I held my head in my hands as I continued to cry. Why, why is all this happening? Does this mean Yuto is in danger? "So why aren't you watching him now?"
"I cannot," The woman remained calm as she spoke. "Though I could love to, it is not that simple. The man he calls 'father' had stopped myself from being able to guide him, that is why I need your help Yuya. As his closet person, the one he loves most, you can help him."
"I think this is a case of mistaken identity here," I yelled out. I'm not sure if I'm yelling because I'm scared or angry at this point. Suddenly the room went dark, I guess that's where the memory ends. "So, is the Yuto I know, the real Yuto."
I saw the woman smile gently as she knelt before me. Taking my hands into hers. "My dear," She spoke softly. "Yuto is still himself, merely what has changed is his background not the person. You my dear, you can help set him free from his 'father' so that he may one day remember his true purpose."
"But how?" I asked gripping her hands tightly. "Please tell me."
I woke up, panting and covered in sweat. What was that dream? Was it even a dream? Panicked, I ran down stairs, looking for Yuto. I felt tears in my eyes as he wasn't in the living room. No, Yuto. I jumped as I felt something on my shoulder. Turning I my eyes met gray ones. "Oh, thank god you're okay!" I exclaimed hugging Yuto tightly. I watched as Yuto raised an eyebrow. I sniffed, wiping my eyes. "Sorry, I just had a nightmare."
"Hey, I'm not going anywhere," Yuto assured me. "It was only a nightmare. They can't actually hurt you. Now come on, lunch is ready."
I nodded and let Yuto lead me to the kitchen. For now I feel safe but that doesn't mean it will stay like this forever.

A/n -I have written so many drafts for this chapter and it wasn't meant to turn out this way but I like this direct better and I hope you al like it too
