"So what are you doing tonight?"
"I'm busy," you responded to your friend. "Boyfriend is taking me out on a date."
"Where?"
"He won't tell me!"
"Well, have a good time with that then. I'll let you know how the movie goes."
You said goodbye to your friend and then hung up the phone. Sighing, you wandered over to the mirror by the door of your apartment. You silently critiqued yourself, pointing out all of the flaws that you were sure Soap frequently thought about too.
No, he's not like that.
Over the three months of dating, you'd found Soap to be quite the gentleman- through arguing over stupid topics and dealing with his shitty attitudes. You had been through a couple of episodes where he was reminded about back when he served in the military. He often made up for those gruesome nights by constantly being sarcastic and throwing jokes, most often sexual, your way. Soap was also so entirely caring and loyal- always making time for you no matter what was going on.
"Knock knock!"
To the arrival of the very man himself, you jumped away from the mirror and helped him open the door. His grin made your heart thump harder and you gave him a smile in return.
"Ready?"
"I think so," you nervously picked up your keys.
Soap laughed, linking arms with you as you finished locking up the place. You walked alongside him towards his car and tried to remember Soap was mostly a gentleman. He surely had an idea that would stomp those of average men and, with that, there was no need for you to be scared in the slightest.
"Thank you for not wearing a dress."
"Uh, why?"
"First off, I have to restrain myself from touching you. Second, a dress wouldn't suit what we're doing very well."
You blushed and sat deeper in the seat of the car as Soap began driving. His smirk and sly glance made you want to punch him at the same time. Instead, you looked out the window to attempt to figure out where the vehicle was headed.
"I promise you're going to like it," Soap murmured.
"Holding you to that."
"There's a reason I didn't say love."
You chuckled and looked out the windshield. Soap smiled and a hand came over, clasping your thigh in pure intimacy. You inwardly squealed, yet outwardly refrained yourself to wiggling.
"Wait," you narrowed your eyes. "Is this what I think it is?"
"What do you think it is?"
"Is is the shutdown roller blading rink? It's been closed for over ten years!"
"Exactly why it was easy to set this up," Soap winked as he pulled the car up by the doors of the abandoned building.
"You broke into a building?"
"Maybe."
"I feel like I know nothing about your secret skills."
"They're a secret for a reason, love."
You rolled your eyes and got out of the car, breathing out into the chilly night air. Soap came around the car, drawing his longer arm around your shoulders. You continued to stare at the doors.
"Are there mice in there?"
"Hundreds."
"And spiders?"
"Thousands."
You gently slapped his hard chest and then proceeded into the building. Soap stayed close behind you, as if expecting a particular reaction from you. You didn't understand why.
Until you did.
Coming into the large rink, café, and bonus room area, you let out a gasp. Lights were warmly strung from the ceiling, highlighting a single table set for two. On each chair sat a pair of roller skates. The rink was dimly lit by more string lights, making the green flooring glow. Music was already playing softly from an old-fashioned boom box- likely to be able to go louder if needed.
"John, this is adorable!" you turned and hugged him. "Only...I can't skate."
"I'll teach you."
~~~
"Alright, now remember you have to keep your center of balance-"
"I'm trying!" you yelped as your skates swung back and forth and you started going for the ground again.
Soap steadied you, a little wobbly at trying to help. You grabbed the waist-high wall lining the edges of the rink and pulled yourself to balance.
"Let's go in the middle."
You glared at Soap. "Are you kidding me? I can't even skate three feet without falling. I need this wall."
"Sometimes you just have to get out of your comfort zone," Soap skated backwards, spinning so he could zoom around the rink.
You watched, mesmerized, and slowly let go of the wall. Soap came back up to you, putting his toe down to stop himself.
"I believe in you, Y/N."
You rolled your eyes and skated forwards, wobbling with your arms out in preparedness for your fall. Soap skated along with you until the center. You slowed and then stood shakily at the center of the rink.
Soap used a remote in his pocket to turn up the boombox. The music playing was slow and relaxing.
"Dance with me?"
"What else am I to do in the center of this thing?"
Soap smirked and then grabbed you, beginning to slow dance along to the music. You found yourself easily able to hold yourself still and just turn your feet to the swaying. Soap supported your balance, making it look like he was dancing with a mannequin.
"Oh shit, I'm losing it," you stumbled and gripped at Soap's shoulders.
He chuckled and then found a way to steady you. Once he did, he pecked your lips lovingly. You almost collapsed to the motion once more, requiring another pick-up.
"Don't do that."
"This?" Soap kissed you again and you stumbled against him.
"Yes that."
He smirked and smooched you again. This time you dragged your arms down with you, causing the two of you to collapse onto the hard floor. Your upper torso rested across Soap's and he let out a grunt of annoyance.
"You asked for it."
Soap shook his head. "That's okay, now it's easy to do this."
He sat up, smashing his lips to yours. You at first rested stunned, a dead fish to his hook. then you cupped his jaw and returned the intimate gesture with a grin on your lips.
"You know," Soap pulled away from you, smirking, "this little place has party rooms once used for birthday parties."
"Yeah, I know. So what?"
"Perhaps we could party in other ways," he smirked even more.
You cheeks lit up and you shook your head. A laugh came to your throat and you shook your head more. You knew for a fact he wasn't talking about drinking...it was more of the physical type of partying.
"Wanna party with me tonight?"
You blushed deeper. "Before dinner?"
"I can be your appetizer and your dessert."
You inwardly gurgled inside, a warmth bursting through your core. You giggled and squeezed his shoulders tighter.
"Okay."
Soap began to place another kiss against your lips, lifting you up in the process. It didn't take him long to get the both of you across the rink and headed for a party room.
And what a party it would be.
The Golden Soldier...GO READ IT PEOPLE!
At least, it'd be really nice of you and I'd appreciate feedback on it so much!
I'm going to have to seriously apologize for not updating this in a long while. I'm having difficulty with inspiration. If you have ideas or requests, please send them my way ❤️ I think the biggest problem is that I haven't been able to play any of the games in a while and so I'm having difficulty relating to characters and being a crazy fangirl. 😉
Also, I know I don't deserve it, but 100K on this book would be absolutely incredible. Let's make that a goal, eh?
I'm sorry for being a terrible author and not updating. Even if you may not love me, I love you all! Thank you for the support.
