Ali's POV
I woke up lazily today and stretched until I cracked my back. These past week has been really busy for me. Day by day was an activity. Luckily today is the weekend so I have no work. Thank god I can finally rest.
After going to the bathroom I hear my phone ring telling me that I got a text. I walk over to my phone surprised to see:
New message: Skylar
I haven't been talking to them for weeks. I feel bad that I haven't but at the same time I was doing it on purpose.
I feel like you fell off the face of the earth. Why haven't been keeping in touch with us?
I sigh as I read Skylar's text. I feel really guilty about this but it's the best thing to do. I think for a while if I should reply. I haven't been replying to them before so why start now?
I been busy with work. Sorry.
I decided to text her back and take a quick shower.
Once I was done I went to the kitchen and got some cookies I got from work to munch on. I leap on to my bed surprised to see another text from Skylar. I didn't expect her to reply.
You know we all miss you. You should come see us. I'll even pick you up. Just tell me where you live.
I bite my lip thinking if I should hang out with them. I do miss them, but that would be a stupid to do. I can't tell them where I live as well or else they might ask to come over a lot.
I'll just walk. Where do you want to meet up?
Just one day. One day we'll hang out and then no more.
My house. You don't live that far do you?
She does live far away.
No problem. I'll be there.
What am I getting myself into? I'm going to be tired by the time I get there.
Might as well start walking now then later. I get my purse and put on my shoes. They better be happy that I'm doing this for them.
I start to think about her text. She said they all miss me. What does she mean by all? Does she mean just her and the girls? Or does she mean including the boys? I doubt that the boys miss me though. Then again what Michael said about me being a part of their family, they might miss me. But without me there might be less arguing. Yeah. They're fine without me.
Before I enter Skylar's house I try to make it less obvious that my feet were practically dying.
Once the door opens I stand up straighter and fix my hair a little. I haven't seen these girls for weeks. Might as well look nice.
"Ali!" Skylar screams then jumps at me when the door wasn't even half way open.
"Hi." I say hugging her just as tightly.
"I missed you! What the hell is your problem?" She screams again and hugs me tighter if that's even possible.
We go up to her room to see that Andy and Jess is already inside. They tackle me with hugs and screams as well.
After the yelling and hugs we calm down and go downstairs to go watch a film. After the movie is done the girls said that we should go out and walk around before I go back to my apartment.
"So, anything new happen?" I ask the girls near the end of the film.
"Nothing really. Without you here nothing is really happening around here." Jess says.
"Jee, I don't know if that's an insult or not." I say sarcastically.
"I guess both." Andy says.
"Wow. That makes me feel better." I say pouting.
"Well, to me that means when you're around things are," she pauses to think, "interesting." Skylar says trying to lighten my mood. I guess that works.
"How's the boys?" I ask after a couple minutes a bit awkwardly.
"Quiet." Jess says with her eyes glued to the TV.
"Very." Andy agrees.
"Why? Did something happen?" I ask a little too concerned. I mentally scowled myself.
"Are you serious?" Andy asks me annoyingly, but I can see a laugh she's holding back.
"What?" I ask confused. Am I supposed to know something?
"They miss you dumbass." Skylar says poking my head with her finger a bit too hard.
"Oh, please. They do not." I protest.
"Oh, don't even. They miss you a lot. Almost as much as us." Jess says snapping her head towards me.
"They're fine without me." I say matter-of-factly.
"You really are dumb aren't you?" Skylar asks me. I don't say anything. I just shake my head and keep watching the film.
I was lost in the film. I had no idea what was happening. I just pretended to know what was happening and didn't bother to ask questions. It was very sappy though. The end of the film was just like any other. All their problems are solved, a girl and guy ends up together and the bad guy is put in jail. See, happy endings like that don't happen in real life.
"Let's go!" Skylar says turning off the TV. We all go to the foyer to put on our shoes and go out. We were just going to hang out and walk around like we always did. It's nice to be with them again. Even though it was just a couple of weeks I missed them a lot.
When we walked around I can't help but notice the girls constantly looking around like they were looking for someone. They even check their phones more than usual and occasionally fiercely tapping angrily on it. Is there a new game that I don't know of?
"Guys?" I ask them as they all look down at their phones.
"What? Oh, sorry." Skylar says nudging Andy and Jess. They look up and quickly put their phones in their pockets.
"So, want to go in here?" I ask pointing at a clothing store. They nod and begin to walk towards it. I never been to it, but might as well go since I don't know where to go.
We all look around the store looking for anything nice. I look at the girls pretending to look at the clothes, but I know they're looking at their phones.
"Guys." I sigh. They all snap their heads up and shove their phones in their pockets like they didn't have it out. Since when were they obsessed with their phones?
"Want to try on ugly outfits?" I ask. We always did this when we went out.
"Sure." Skylar says smiling.
After a while we all picked each other's outfits. Skylar did Andy's, Andy did Jess's, Jess did mine, and I did Skylar's. For Skylar I picked a very colorful tank top followed by a very formal jacket paired with zebra printed sweat pants.
We all try them on and laugh at how we look. We took pictures of each other still laughing our butts off. When we were done we looked for more silly outfits to give each other this time switching people.
Trying on these silly clothes and laughing with them kind of makes me feel stupid. I shouldn't be having this much fun. After this I'm just going to avoid them again.
"Let's go." Andy says laughing. We all agree and go outside. It was a bit dark outside, but not dark enough for lights to be needed. I look at the girls and they're all on their phones again.
"What are you guys doing?" I sigh rubbing one of my temples.
"Hm? Oh, nothing." Jess says nudging the other girls with her elbows while putting their phones away.
"Is there a new game I don't know of?" I ask.
"Um, y- yeah." Andy says.
"If you're addicted to it there is no way I'm going to try it." I say to Andy. She never gets addicted to games. However, Skylar does all the time.
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea." Andy says.
"So, let's go find more stores?" Jess asks. We all agree and start to walk around.
After a couple hours we went to at least five different stores just messing around. Some stores may have kicked us out. It was all worth it though.
"You want ice cream?" Skylar asks me as we exit a store.
"What kind of a question is that?" I ask. We all laugh and go to the nearest ice cream place. It wasn't Ben and Jerry's, but at least they sold ice cream.
As we sit down in one of the booths with our ice cream cones they go on their phones again.
"You guys should take a break from your phones." I say while rolling my eyes. They look up once again and put their phones away.
"Sorry." they say once again.
We all stay here for a while just cracking lame jokes and laughing at how stupid we are. I think Jess has an unlimited supply of lame jokes. It's stupid, but I'm glad she does. None of them look at their phones as we talk which I'm grateful for. That game their playing is getting me annoyed.
"I should go, it's getting late." I say looking at the window. It was already dark.
"Wait, no! Stay longer. You can stay at my house for the night." Skylar offers.
"No, I got to go back to my apartment. I have work." I lie.
"Oh." Jess says kind of disappointed.
"Do you want me to drive you?" Skylar asks.
"No, I'm good." I say standing up.
"See you later." Andy says. I pause. See you later? I don't plan on it.
Skylar's POV
"Where were they?" Andy says a little loudly.
"I don't know!" I say back just as loudly.
"Speaking of the devils." Jess says looking at the door we entered through.
"Where's Ali?" Ashton asks.
"She left you idiots!" Andy yelled at them.
"What?" Calum yells sadly.
"What took you guys so long?" I yell at them.
"Luke was getting ready." Michael says pointing at Luke who was just coming in.
"Luke she already left!" Ashton yells at him.
"Oh." was all he said.
"What do you mean ‘oh’? Is that all you can say? It's been weeks since you guys saw her! Who knows when we’re going to see her again?" I yell angrily at him.
"What do you mean?" Luke asks snapping his head up towards me.
"She's obviously busy! She isn't going to come all the way over here every day." Andy says annoyed.
"Great Luke! We missed her because of you!" Michael yells at him angrily.
"It's not like we're not going to see her anymore!" Luke yells back.
"Don't be too sure." I whisper, but I guess I didn't say it quiet enough because Luke heard me.
“What do you mean, ‘don’t be too sure’?” Luke asks softly.
"Never mind. C'mon guys let's go." I say to the girls.
We hear the guys yell at Luke for being stupid, but there's one thing Luke said that caught my attention.
"I wanted to see her too!"
