Chapter 3

We spent the rest of the morning in his bed, until lunch time. He wanted to make sure that I smelt like him. I’m not sure if that was an excuse, or the truth. Since he didn’t bite me on the shoulder, claiming me as his, it made me still available to other males. Don’t be angry with him about that. If he claimed me, I would have been with child and I’m not ready yet for that. It was so sweet that he fought of his wolf to stop and ask me. And I am glad he didn’t ask about the scars I had in my back, or maybe he didn’t notice them at all. I probably think it’s the latter.

“Here.” He placed a plate with food in front of me. I thanked him and he flashed a smile my way while sitting next to me. I eyed him for a moment; he should have worn more clothes than just some boxers. I don’t think I’ll be able to eat this food without getting distracted. Well, not like I’m wearing much as well, I’m just wearing one of his shirts –Thank goodness it covers everything-, so I can’t complain.

We ate in silence and when we finished, we cuddled in the couch and talked.

A knock sounded on the front door and we both glanced at it. “I’ll get it.” Sebastian murmured annoyed at the intruder and stood up. I checked the shirt I was wearing to see if it covered everything and Sebastian glanced at me to check as well, and then opened the door.

“Dude, I’m mateless again. I feel just like you now. Lonely and forever alone.” Cobyan moaned painfully while dragging his body inside and throwing himself, face first, on the couch in front of me. “This is my fourth time, this was your sixth right?”

“My fifth.” Sebastian snapped at him, defending himself.

“Chill, man. Don’t get your panties in a twist.” Cobyan groaned. “I came here to talk about me, not you.”

I couldn’t stop myself and I giggled. Cobyan glanced at me wide eyed and surprised. “Holly shit, Charlotte I didn’t know you were here. Did you came to be depressed…With….Us..Oh.” He trailed his eyes slowly between Sebastian and I, then at my body. And I shuffled uncomfortably in my seat as his gaze stayed on me.

“Remove gaze, now!” Sebastian snarled in anger at his friend, his hands tightening into fist.

“Shit, sorry.” He removed his gaze quickly and cleared his throat. “Uh, congratz.” Then went to his moaning again. “Oh hell no, he found his mate and I’m still mateless.”

“Don’t worry, you’ll find her next year.” I went and patted his shoulder sympathetically.

He sat up and brighten, his eyes glazing. “You’re right! I’m going to go and eat, I’m hungry.” He stood up, did a weird handshake with Sebastian and left, closing the door behind him. Well that was a bipolar moment. I grinned.

His gaze turned to me as I went over to him. “I have to go get clothes.” I grabbed his hand and smile at him “Come with me?”

He kissed my forehead. “Always.”

After waiting for him to get dressed, he put on me a hoodie of his, so that my body could be more hidden, and then we left to go to my dorm.

When we reached my dorm, I was glad the hallways were deserted. It would have been super embarrassing if someone saw me like this.

Opening the door, we both slipped in quietly and closed the door behind us. I beckon him to follow me, and walked into my room, locking the door behind him. Changing into some jeans and a shirt, I grabbed everything that was mine and put it back into my bags. 10 minutes and I was ready to move into Sebastian’s room.

Once you find your mate, you’re allowed to move with them until you’ve decided which pack you are going to, if to stay on your own or his. But since Sebastian isn’t allowed to leave, it’s no question that I’m staying here.

“Ready?” He asked me from where he was laying on the bed, watching me the whole time. I smiled and nodded. He got up and I walked to the door and opened it.

“Charlotte!” A body came flying into mine and if it weren’t for Sebastian behind us, we would off fallen. “I found my mate!” Sam grinned, not noticing Sebastian at all. “And from not seeing you early when I came, it seems you too. Who is it? Is he ha-” She broke off as she stared at him in shock. “Oh Charlotte, you always find trouble.”

“Trouble?” I blinked at her in confusion.

She pulled away from the hug, glared at Sebastian and walked into the living room “Yes.”

I followed her, frowning. “I-I don’t understand.”

“Your mate is a guy who can’t even control his wolf, how who he control his anger around you? How can he even protect you when he can’t shift?” She asked me while hissing at him. He growled at her in warning.

“I can protect her just fine,” He snapped at her while coming to stand beside me. “My wolf and me want the same thing for her and it’s for her to be safe and protected.”

She snorted. “But who would save her from you?”

He snarled angrily and stepped towards her. “Don’t tempt me, female. I don’t like being challenged or insulted and I don’t care if you’re a female. Don’t dare me if you cannot take the consequences.”

She stared at him straight on. “See what I mean? You just proved my point that it doesn’t matter if she is your mate, if you’re angry. You will snap at anything and everything.”

He gritted his teeth and pulled his hands into fists. “I only snap at those who accuse me of shit I haven’t even done.”

“But you may do.” She pointed out.

“Samantha, enough. Please.” I demanded at her, sensing how she was affecting my mate, and I didn’t like the tone she was using with him.

He took deep breaths, trying to calm down and to try and distract himself, he took my bags and walked towards the door “I’ll wait for you outside.”

“Coward.” She called at him and that did it. He stopped and his body went rigid, he dropped the bags and dugs his nails into his hands, then started to shake badly and angry snarls and growls came from him, the muscle in his back tighten.

My eyes widen and I jogged over to him and grabbed both his cheeks, and forced him to look at me. His eyes were full on black, no trace of blue in it, and he was biting his lip so hard, it was bleeding.

I stroked both his cheeks while I rested my forehead against his and whispered soothing words. He closed his eyes, listening to me and started to calm down. Once he was calm, he grabbed the bags and left without saying anything to either of us.

I turned to Sam and blinked back my tears, I’m so emotional. “Why did you do that?”

Her eyes soften and she rushed over to me. “Oh Charlotte, I’m sorry! I was just trying to protect you. You know that.” She hugged me.

I gently pushed her away. “He won’t hurt me, he’s my mate.” I whispered.

“But he-”

“I know. When he found me at the full moon, it was his wolf. And he didn’t hurt me at all. So don’t go assuming and insulting without knowing.” I wiped a tear that escaped my eye. “Trust me and have some faith in him.”

She ran her hand through her hair and sighed. “I’m sorry, it’s him I don’t trust.”

“Then trust me, trusting him.”

She thought about it and sighed again. “Fine. But don’t go crying over to me when he hurts you. And if I see it, I’ll whoop his ass.” I nodded. “You’ll apologize?”

She frowned. “I’ll think about it.”

“Thank you.” I smiled weakly and open the door. “Congratulations with your mate.”

“Oh my mate,” She sighed dreamily. “He’s so hot.” I rolled my eyes and closed the door.

Looking around I noticed he didn’t wait for me and thank goodness I could sense him now, so I wouldn’t get lost searching for him. I started to follow my instincts to where he was and found him at the same bench we where the other night. I frowned, he was smoking. I have to do something about that.

I walked over there and sat down next to him, looking around. We stayed like that for a while until he spoke. “I’m sorry.”

Hesitating, I grabbed his free hand, slipping my fingers between his. “It’s okay, it wasn’t your fault.”

“I just got angry on how she jumped into conclusion and it pissed me off how she talked about me as if I was the devil or something.” He tighten his hold on my hand and threw the cigarette out.

I crawled into his lap and wrapped my arms around his neck, hugging him tight. He hugged me back and sighed. “We are going to hear more of that tonight.”

“Well get through it, together.” I promised.

“Together.” He promised.

“Ready?” He asked me and I nodded, taking his hand.

We spend the rest of the day in his living room, watching movies and it’s around 6pm and we are now heading to the field, to the meeting. The elders will probably want to talk to us and I’m so nervous. What if they don’t accept this? Well, I wouldn’t care. He is my mate and they can’t stop that.

Just as we neared the field. An elder appeared and demanded us to follow him. Well, at least we don’t have to deal with what everyone is saying of us at the field.

Sebastian pulled me protectively against him as we followed the elder. After about 10 minutes of walking, we entered the council room. It was pretty big, around two normal rooms size. There were six benches on each side and at the end on the benches on each side, was a table with two chairs. And at the end there were six platform(I think that’s what their seats are called) and the elders sat on it.

“Follow me.” The elder with us murmured and walked to the elders, telling us to stand in front of them.

Sebastian was tense and really to pounce. I couldn’t calm him down, because I was as well. What if they split us up?!

The elder took a seat and Luke, the one sitting in the middle, spoke “Sebastian, you are very aware of what we told you when you were left here, am I correct?”

Sebastian gritted his teeth and nodded.

“Good.” His eyes trailed to me and stared. “I see you haven’t claimed her, which is perfect. It would be less painless to separate you two.”

Sebastian’s stance went rigid and he pushed me behind him in an instant. I gasped. They can’t do that! “No.”

“Sebastian you got to underst-”

“No!” He snarled, cutting him off. “I will not give her up, she’s mine!”

The elder sighed, annoyed. “Sebastian, don’t make me do this by force.”

I gripped the back of his shirt tightly. “You’re asking me to give up my life, even by force you will not make me.”

Finally finding the guts, I moved away from behind him to stand by his side, gripping his arm tightly. “Elder, please. Give him a chance, he wouldn’t hurt me, a lot of members where there when he found me. They can assure you that he never tried to hurt me, and if he reacted badly, it was because the members were too close and he didn’t want them there. Please.” I told him pleadingly.

One of the other elder spoke. “You just admitted that he tried hurting someone, it may have not been you, but he did. So that has to be taken to consideration as well.”

“But before this, he was always trying to hurt us. Now with the girl, we don’t have to watch over him anymore and risk our lives. As long as no one nears the girl on the full moons, no one will be in danger.” The female elder came to our defense.

The last elder sighed dramatically. “We should have gotten rid of him on his first shift and none of this would have been happening.”

I heard snarling close to me and realized it was me who was making the sound.  “You should be ashamed on wishing an innocent life to be destroyed.”

Ignoring me, Luke shot a warning look at the last elder “We do not kill the innocent, brother.”

The female elder stood up before any other argument was brought on. “Please go and enjoy your night, tomorrow in the morning we will discuss what will be done with the two of you.” She said and waved us away.

Sebastian grabbed my hand and pulled me outside. He was gritting his teeth and growling in anger.

“Calm down.” I demanded softly.

He sighed and closed his eyes, taking deep breaths while I ran my hand up and down his arm. “There’s no reason to be angry when we won’t know the answer until tomorrow.”

Opening his eyes, he nodded. “You’re right. But it still angers me that they are thinking of taking you away from me.” He started to snarl. “No one will take you away from me.”

I kissed his cheek and watched as his eyes soften. “You’re right.”

“Yo guys!” We turned around and watched as Cobyan jogged over to us. “Some of the guys are playing football and I need another member, you in?” Who plays football at night? Werewolves do.

Sebastian started to decline but I stopped him and told him to go. “You need a distraction before you go wolf on all of us.” I smiled and poked his forehead. “I’ll go and meet up with the girls. I’ll see you later, ‘kay?”

“Someone just took me away from you.” He frowned annoyed and then sighed. “Fine, just for a while. I lo-” he cut himself off and shook his head. “Meet me at my room after.” I nodded and gave him a peck on the lips. He hesitated but followed his friend, not without taking a glance back. I waved as he did.

Watching him leave with Cobyan. I sighed and looked around. Now how will I find the girls? The meeting probably ended already. I walked around for five minutes and I was already starting to get lost. Time to get lost it is, then.

“Char!” Or maybe not. I waved at Ashley and Lilith as they came over to me, with two identical boys tagging along. I eyed them, trying to find a difference but it was near impossible. “This is my mate, Micheal and Lilith’s mate, Mitchell.” She pointed at each one and I bit my lip. Okay, this is going to be impossible for me to distinguish. For tonight Michael is the guy with the red shirt, and Mitchell the gray one.

I watched as they both ran their hands through their black hair at the same time and greeted me. “Hello.” I greeted them back nervously. This is kind of weird.

“You’re Sebastian’s girl, aren’t you?” Michael leaned towards me and sniffed me while staring at me with his brown eyes. I backed away awkwardly. “U-uh, I g-guess.”

“Leave her alone.” Lilith rolled her eyes while cuddling closer to Mitchell. “She can’t help who she’s mated to. Anyway, we are meeting Sam and Eric at the lake. We’re making a bonfire, want to come?”

I nervously played with my fingers. “Um, I don’t know. I need to tell Sebastian and he’s playing football.” I frowned. “Which I don’t know where that is.”

She laughed. “It’s at the field, dummy.”

I blushed. “Oh.”

“I’ll take you.” She turned to her mate and kissed him on the lips “I’ll meet you at the lake.” He sighed and nodded. “Later, guys.”

She pulled me to walk beside her. “So tell me everything.”

“Everything?” I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

“About Sebastian, duh.” She rolled her eyes. “I want to know his story, what is it?”

I frowned. I’m not telling her anything about it. Besides, it’s his life not mine. Just because I’m his mate doesn’t mean I have the right to speak of his private life. “It’s his life. Ask him.” I told her simply.

She pouted. “Fine.” Then brighten when we neared the field. “I’ve never seen him super close nor even heard him talk, this is going to be exciting!” I rolled my eyes and couldn’t help but smile.

“There he is!” She said brightly and pointed at him, I couldn’t help but brighten with her and if I was in wolf form, my tail will be wagging faster than a Bugatti Veyron getting at 60 mph in a second.

We stared at him as he played with the guys, he was running towards the end of the field with a ball and was jumping and dodging the guys who threw themselves at him. He was shirtless and sweating. He just looked delicious and mouthwatering. Finally reaching the end, he stopped and slammed the ball into the ground in triumph. Cobyan and a few other guys cheered while the rest groaned and complained.

Sensing me, he whirled around and threw a smirk and a wink my way that had me blushing and gripping Lilith arm, like my life depended on it. I’ll be on the ground, unconscious if I didn’t.

“This is going to be interesting.” Lilith murmured as he started to jog towards us.
