We got there before Bruce or Cass got there.
"Okay Percy we need a plan" Annabeth said I ran off towards the vault. "Ugh seaweed brain"
I heard static in my earpiece. And another connection.
"You should be in school" Bruce said
"No I should be in bed" I said "it's too early to be awake"
"Percy it's twelve thirty" Annabeth said
I heard Cass snicker as I feigned sleeping.
"Lets just get on with stopping the robbers" I said
"Um no Cass and I will get on that you and Annabeth get back to school" Bruce said
"Oh c'mon" I said "it's lunch. Besides Barbara said it was okay"
"In those exact words?" Bruce asked
"Well no" I said "more like...okay she didn't say she waved me along"
"Well I'm waving you along" he said
"No your not, your telling me" I said
"Oh shush" Bruce said "go back"
"Fine" I said "don't die"
I waved and followed Annabeth back towards the school. I landed behind some dumpsters and pulled off my gloves and put them in my backpack.
Now all I had to do was make it through the rest of the day. A feat more impressive than taking down a robber.
I was walking towards the car when A kid probably about eleven years old bumped into me.
"Hey" I said he looked worried "what's wrong"
"I-I"
A group of about four kids probably being not much older than him ran towards me. I stepped in front of the little one.
"Aww does baby Drake need someone to protect him" one of them said
"Leave him be" I said
"What are you going to do" he asked
"Look kid you guys can't hurt anyone." I said I wasn't worried at all they were in sixth grade for crying out loud. "What did he do to you?" I asked
"He got in the way" one of them said
"Of what?" I asked
"I-"
"Look run along and I won't tell my uncle. He'll tell your parents" I said
"What if he doesn't know my parents" a kid asked
"Look kid my uncle is Bruce Wayne he knows everyone's parents" I said even sixth graders knew who Bruce was. "Go!" I yelled
They ran off. I turned to the kid behind me.
"What's your name?" I asked
"Tim" he said "Tim Drake"
"Your brave Tim" I said "did you stop them from picking on someone?"
"Yeah" he said quietly.
"Good job" I said "if you ever need help again I'd be glad to help a hero" I scribbled the number to the phone we had a the mansion. "If they pick on anyone else call me. Ask for Percy."
I don't know why I gave him the number maybe because I hated bullies or maybe because I liked people who stood up for themselves and others.
"Yeah give me a call if you need anything" I said "stay safe Tim"
I ran off to the car where Alfie was waiting. Tim waved at me. I smiled and waved back. I figured he'd probably loose the number like most kids his age but later that night the phone rang with the voice of Tim Drake on the other end.
