i was the last to meet steve's old friend
everyone had told me to be prepared because he was an assassin and blah, blah, blah
i love them all to pieces but they all love to judge a book by it's cover
and certainly judge them by their past
but i'm not like that
i actually meet the person and get to know them
i don't make assumptions, i ask

i walk into the living room as see everyone huddled in the kitchen, glancing nervously at bucky who is rigidly sitting on the couch
i roll my eyes at them before walking over to bucky
i smile down at him as he looks up at me
"hi, i'm y/n" i say, offering my hand
he shakes it with his right hand, nodding slightly
"bucky" he mumbles
i nod "it's nice to meet you bucky"
he doesn't say anything
i sit next to him, only a few inches away, not leaving a big gap
he freezes
i look at him "am i making you uncomfortable?"
he looks at me, shocked "i should be asking you that"
i frown "you don't make me uncomfortable at all and do me a favor by ignoring all the rest of them. they are very judgy"
"but not you" bucky observes
i smile "but not me"
i see bucky relax slightly, making me smile widely
we both sit in a comfortable silence, watching a random show on tv
~
i get up to get a drink and grab some snacks, leaving bucky alone on the couch
i don't even reach the kitchen when i'm pulled away by someone
i look and see tony, nat, and clint
i roll my eyes
"why are you sitting so close to him?" nat hisses
"because he's a person and i like social interaction"
she groans
"aren't you scared of him?" clint asks
i laugh "no, why would i be?"
they all give me a look causing me to roll my eyes again
"if you don't like seeing me hang out with bucky then stop looking and stalking. seriously, it's creepy"
"we're just looking out for you, y/n" tony says
"i don't need anyone to look out for me. bucky is not going to hurt me. now shut up about it" i say, huffing as i walk into the kitchen
i grab two bags of chips and two waters
i walk back into the living room, setting all the stuff down on the table
bucky turns his attention from the screen to me
"i didn't know which kind you liked, so i grabbed both" i say, showing him the bags of chips
he smiles "i like both"
i smile, putting the chips in the small space between us, before handing him a water
he holds the bottle in his left hand as he twists off the top with his right hand
he accidentally squeezes the water bottle too hard, making water go everywhere
he looks down, embarrassed as i laugh loudly
he sees me laughing, deciding to join in
i grab some towels, helping him soak up some of the water from his pants
i grab him a new water, opening it for him, before handing it to him
this puts a big smile on his face as he takes it from me, sipping it slowly
we decide to watch as movie as we binge on chips

"y/n" a voice says frantically "have you seen bucky? i can't find him-"
steve stops short as he sees us both looking at him from the couch
"oh uh- nevermind" he says, scratching the back of his neck
i laugh "steve, you worry too much"
bucky nods
steve's cheeks flush, making both bucky and i laugh
steve's eyes widen
"what?" i ask, calming down
"i just- it's been so long since i've heard bucky laugh" steve mumbles
i smile "we've been laughing all day, steve. where have you been?"
"i've been looking for him"
i giggle, leaning my head on bucky's left shoulder
"he's been watching movies with me all day"
"yeah, we watched a lot of disney movies" bucky says
i smile widely as steve smiles too
he sits next to me, lifting me feet up, before sitting in their place
he rests my feet on his lap before looking at the screen "what are we watching now?"
"up" i answer, turning my attention back to the screen
bucky lifts his metal arm, letting me cuddle into his side, before hesitantly wrapping it around me
i smile, watching the screen intently

i wake up to someone screaming "are you kidding me?"
i slowly open my eyes, seeing tony standing over me
i groan "what?"
"now you're cuddling with him?"
"shhh, you'll wake him and steve up" i say, softly
"i don't care" tony continues "he's dangerous, y/n. what don't you get about that?"
"he's not. you're being over dramatic" i argue
"do you not know his past?"
"i do. but do you know what the two of us did all day yesterday?"
he stays quiet, waiting for my answer
"we watched disney movies. we laughed. we had fun. do you know what the rest of you guys did?"
i don't even wait for his answer
"you judged him and ignored him and pushed him to the side. so don't you dare start saying he's dangerous and all that other shit when you didn't even try to get to know him"
tony sighs, not saying a word, as he walks away
"thank you for giving bucky a chance, y/n" steve whispers
i smile at him "thank you for bringing him here. i absolutely love his company"
steve's smile widens as he quietly gets up and walks to the kitchen to make coffee
"did you really mean all of that?" a quiet voice asks
i lean off of bucky, allowing him to sit up
i crawl onto his lap, straddling his waist
"of course i did"
he smiles "that means a lot, y/n"
i smile and start to say something, but stop
i get distracted by his features
they look so different up close
his eyes are so blue
his hair looks so soft and fluffy
his lips look so plump
his nose is so small and cute
"what? what's wrong?" bucky asks, slightly alarmed
i smile "nothing bucky"
i feel him slightly relax
"you have a button nose" i say, softly
"a what?" he asks, confused
i giggle "your nose is small and cute as a button"
he smiles, his cheeks turning a shade of pink
i lean up and place a delicate kiss on his nose, watching how it slightly scrunches
i giggle as he watches me, intensely
"you amaze me, y/n" bucky says, softly
"why?"
"you just met me yesterday and you're already acting as if you've known me your whole life"
i smile "it feels like i've known you my whole life, but if i did then i would be old"
he laughs "i guess so, but that makes me old"
i smile "you look pretty hot for being that old"
his cheeks darken as i giggle
i lean in and place a kiss on his cheek, making his cheeks burst into flames
i smile "you're awfully cute when you blush, bucky"
i kiss his cheek again before walking to the bathroom
"y/n" i hear someone shout, probably steve "you broke bucky"
i do my business before walking back into the living room, seeing bucky still staring in front of him
his mouth slightly hung open and his cheeks burning
steve looks at me worriedly "what did you do?"
i giggle "nothing bad"
steve raises an eyebrow at me
i straddle bucky's lap again, gaining his attention
he closes his mouth, but his cheeks are still red
"i-uh-i don't know how to respond to that" bucky stutters, nervously
i smile "you don't have to say anything"
he regains himself
his cheeks going back to their normal color as he looks at me with a smirk
"you're right. why say anything when i could do this?" he says before smashing his lips on mine
i instantly kiss back, tangling my hands in his hair as his hands remain on my hips
we pull away. breathless
"yes, bucky from brooklyn is back" steve cheers
bucky laughs loudly as i smile at him
watching his button nose, scrunch with every laugh
when he calms down he looks at me and raises an eyebrow
"you were looking at my nose, weren't you?" he asks
i blush "it's just so cute"
he laughs, pulling me closer to him "you're just so cute"
