*April*
Bucky was finally healed up from his work accident and it made his relationship with Chloe so much stronger after that night. It was the day that he and Chloe were going to find out if they were having a boy or a girl. She was sitting at the nurse's desk eating a bag of gummi bears and he said "Hey Beautiful you ready to go."
"Oh I didn't even realize what time it was." She said as she grabbed her phone and wallet.
She got up and said "Hey Molly I'm taking my lunch break at the doctor's I will be back in a bit."
"Ok I hope it's boy Chloe." Molly said
"Please don't say that." She said
Molly just laughed and they walked out of the ER hand in hand as they headed across the street to the medical building that her doctor's office was at. They got on the elevator and he said "Dot called me and said to tell you congratulations."
"Well that's surprising." she said
He laughed and said "I know."
They got into the room and Maria said "Alright let's see what we are having shall we."
She let them hear the heartbeat first and then did the measurements and said "And it looks we have us a boy."
After the appointment was over Chloe was quiet and he said "Baby what's wrong?'
"Just promise me something. Promise me you won't be like your dad and my dad make him join the fire department let him decide what he wants." she said
"I promise baby I won't be like my dad. I know your heart wouldn't be able to handle that." he said
"Thank you." she said
"So Steve said something about me and him being promoted." he said as they were walking down the street to the café that normally eat lunch at when they can take a lunch break together.
"That's great baby." she said
"It's a position that will be keep safer I think is what Steve said." Bucky said
"Well that's very good then baby." She said with a smile
They ate lunch together and then he walked her back to the hospital and he said "I love you gorgeous I will see you at home."
"I love you too baby. Can't wait till it's time to go home." she said as she kissed him
"mmm baby I love when you kiss me with that tongue." he whispered as he squeezed her ass.
Molly saw them as she was standing outside and Chloe was walking back inside and Molly said "You two are sickening sometimes but you are one lucky girl to have a boyfriend as sexy as him."
"Back off Molly he's mine." She said with a smile
"So what is the baby." Molly said
"Oh we are having a reveal this weekend so Taylor and Chase can do it." she said as she sat down
The rest of the day was a pretty slow day for both Bucky and Chloe. After work was over they both went home and got changed and headed over to her parents house for dinner with them.
"So I know you won't be revealing until this weekend but if it's a boy you know that he will be fire fighter just like the rest of the men in the Rogers/Barnes clan." her dad said
"Dad don't start." she said
"Chloe it's either she follows in her mama's foot steps or he follows in his daddy's." he said
She squeezed Bucky's hand and Bucky knew not to say nothing cause that was her dad and he's never been disrespectful to her dad and he wanted to be in his good graces cause he just asked earlier for his blessing to marry his daughter. Her mom stepped in and said "John I think it's best that we let them decide not just force them."
"No Sarah this is how it's always been in the family." John said
"ugh I hate being part of this family. I wasn't forced to go into nursing like mom I decided that on my own after you got hurt. But Steve was forced to join the fire department and so was Bucky. And you have already roped in my nephew." she said as she slammed her napkin down and said "I'll be in the car Buck."
"Chloe don't there is a reason why we are here." Bucky said
Just then her brother and his family walked in and Bucky's mom walked in. "Come on let's go get some air and get you calmed down baby." he said in her ear. He grabbed her hand and they went out on the back porch and he said "Baby please calm down ok I know it's hard being part of our families believe me baby I know but getting upset like this isn't good for the baby."
"I know." she whispered as she wiped tears
He hugged her and said "Baby it's ok." They stood out there for a few minutes and Sarah came out and said "He will come around baby eventually he can't keep forcing the family like this."
"I hope so mom cause I can't be you and Winnie. I can't take it mom it's hard enough on me when it's Bucky I wouldn't be able to handle it if we have a boy." she said
"I know baby." Sarah said as she hugged her and said "Come on let's go in."
They all 3 went back inside the house.
Chloe noticed that Taylor and Chase were extra giggly again and she knew that something was about to happen but she wasn't sure what could possibly be going on. She knew that Bucky had asked her to dress up a little bit for dinner with her parents which she didn't mind to do. He kissed her as they went in and she hugged her nieces and nephew then walked over to Nat and put her hands on her stomach and said "How are these boys?"
"They are good. Getting a little cramped but they are good." Nat said
Chloe smiled and said "That's good. I can't wait for them to get here."
Bucky came over to her and pulled her over to the front of the living room as everyone started to take seats and she said "Buck what's going on?"
"I have a surprise for you baby." he said
He grabbed both of her hands and enterlaced their fingers and said "I'm going to tell you all a story about how I fell in love with a beautiful girl a long time ago."
She looked at him and just shook her head.
"A long time ago there was a 5 year old little blonde hair girl who was afraid of the dark especially when it came to her tree house. So me and her brother put fairy lights in her bedroom and her tree house and she was able to sit in her tree house and look up at the stars with me and her brother as I held her hand to let her know that it was ok. When she was 8 years old she got so scared on Halloween because a couple of older boys scared her with a scream mask and she fell and ripped her fairy costume and I held her hand and hugged her and told her it was ok that it was just a mask from that day on she never wanted to go trick or treating again. When she was 10 years old she was doing ballet in the firehouse like she always did and I loved to watch her do it. She was doing her spins and leaps but landed in a puddle of water as we were cleaning the trucks and she fell and broke her arm I held her hand then I even held her hand in the ambulance and I stayed with her at the ER and held her hand then too and I was the first person to sign her cast as well. When she was 11 years old I gave her first kiss to her in her tree house cause she was upset that all her friends had made fun of her for getting her braces and she said that they told her that no boy would want to kiss her so I kissed her I even slipped tongue in there sorry John. When she was 12 years old I left for college I told her that all she had to do when she was scared to hold her other hand and think of me. When she was 14 my mom called me and told me about my dad but told me that there was another person that needed me and that Chloe. Do you remember what I told you baby when my mom put you on speaker phone?" He said
"Hey babydoll I'm on my way there. Hold your hand and keep it warm for me till I get there cause I'm going to need you too. Just be strong babydoll." she whispered through tears.
"I ran to you that night once I got to the hospital I found you asleep on the couch your mom said that you had just laid down and I kicked off my shoes and laid behind you and cuddled you and held both of your hands and slept there with you for the whole week that I was in town and you held my hand at the funeral and I gave you another kiss the day I left. Now I'm going to let Taylor have a go with our story." he said
Taylor stood up and said "The first time I ever saw my Aunt Chloe and Uncle Bucky together on her birthday she was dressed up and looked so beautiful in her pink and white dress and pink shoes and her blonde hair all curled up but mommy and daddy said it wasn't a date that they went on but that night I saw the way Bucky looked at her he looked at her like daddy looks at mommy. Then I saw the way he looked at her that night as they walked to the car and he held her hand. I knew that I had to find a way to get them together so I suggested that help us carve pumpkins and I saw the way he was with her that night and I saw how he comforted her when she was upset. He told me that night that he loved her but right now they were both hurting and it was best that they stay friends. He held her hands as she was getting the pumpkin goo out of my pumpkin and I took this picture of them after we were done with the pumpkins and I could tell he was crazy about my aunt Chloe. He held her hand as we went trick or treating that night especially after I upset her asking her when she was going to have a baby. It wasn't until Thanksgiving after a fight with mom and grandma that mommy and daddy were finally able to see what I was seeing as they held hands on the porch as he had his forehead against hers so I had my brother help me with getting them together. We asked mommy and daddy to ask them to come over and help us decorate for Christmas and do our Christmas wishes. After we did our Christmas wishes we did our ornaments and Aunt Chloe lost her balance cause she has crappy balance and Bucky caught her before she hit the floor and said he would always catch her when she falls. Chase you get a turn."
"Right that night me and my sister wished that Aunt Chloe and Uncle Bucky would fall in love and have a baby. And they both came true. But there is one wish Bucky has for him and her that he wants to come true. Grandpa it's your turn." Chase said
Chloe's dad stood up and said "Baby girl I've been waiting for him to ask you this question since you was 10 years old. When he left for LA with Dot it was because he wanted to prove his dad wrong that he should marry Dot when his dad told him it wasn't Dot that he should marry. I always knew and his daddy always knew that he was crazy about you Chloe he just needed to wait for you. He would watch you dance for hours at the firehouse when you did your ballet at the firehouse after school." her dad and then he turned her around and she saw Bucky knelt down in front of her and Taylor said "Aunt Chloe will you please marry Uncle Bucky?" just as he opened the box. Chloe had tears running down her face as she heard everyone tell their story and she shook her head yes and whispered "Yes I will."
Bucky slipped the ring on her finger and stood up and kissed her and said "Baby I will always hold your hand when you are scared I will love you till the day they put me in the ground you are my life and the one girl that has never let me down. You have been my best friend my girl and always there for me when I need you no matter what. You were always the person I was meant to be with I just was to stubborn to wait."
"Bucky baby I love you." she whispered through tears.
"I love you too gorgeous. I told you that night to not give up on love on your birthday because I knew by then I was falling back in love with you." he said to her
"I knew you needed to marry Uncle Bucky Aunt Chloe. I knew you needed Uncle Bucky Aunt Chloe." Taylor said
They both looked at her and said "What are you talking about Taylor?"
"I um I told daddy to let Bucky stay with you. I um I stayed with grandma and grandpa in your old room a few nights before daddy said that Uncle Bucky was coming back and I was playing dress up with all of your old clothes that were in your closet. A box of pictures and old Christmas wishes and letters to Bucky fell on the floor I saw the way you two were together they way he was always holding your hand and your smile Aunt Chloe a smile I haven't seen since I was like 3 or 4. I read how much it hurt you that he married Dot and left you in your letters that you never sent to him I saw how many Christmases you wished for him to come back to you. Aunt Chloe I could tell how unhappy you were I know you were trying to hide it to protect me and not let me stop believing in love and fairytales but when I saw what was in that box Chloe I went home the next day and told daddy what I found at grandma's and I told him that Uncle Bucky needs to stay with Aunt Chloe they need to see each other cause they need each other so I could have my Aunt Chloe back the one that would do ballet with me the one that would teach me fun dances and take me to see Disney On Ice the one that would dress up with me for Halloween." Taylor said
"Taylor that's enough." Chloe said as she run out the back door in tears
"What did I do I was just?" Taylor said
"Honey you just made her feel really bad. She loves you Taylor she quit doing those things because she didn't want you see how much she was hurting. You have to understand that for a long time Aunt Chloe thought she wasn't going to have what she has with me now. She loves you and your brothers and your sister you all were her babies especially you Taylor she's been the one taking care of you the most." Bucky said he hugged Taylor then went to find Chloe.
When he walked out the back door he saw the fairy lights in her treehouse and smiled. "Baby I believe we are about 20 years to big for this treehouse." he said as he climbed in it and sat beside her and grabbed her hand and said "It's ok baby."
"Am I bad aunt Bucky?" she whispered
"No baby. You are an amazing aunt to those kids in there. You always have been I loved seeing Nat's pictures on facebook when I was LA cause I got see you and see how you were with them and see how you were doing. I could tell that you was hurting and I felt like it was my fault and knowing that it was all my fault that you were having one bad relationship after another while my life with Dot was crumbling from the beginning." he said to her
"Bucky you two were married for 12 years you can't tell me that for 12 years it was bad." she said
"We were married for 6 years Chloe not 12. We didn't get married right away when we got to LA we didn't get married for 5 years and we were separated for a year." he said to her
"Buck was I the reason?" she said
"No baby I told you from the beginning that it was not your fault. Me and Dot fell apart from the geico she didn't want a big wedding we struggled with bills and then the whole infertility thing happen she didn't want to adopt she didn't want to get a second opinion she started to pull away and I started to stay at the firehouse more and more and I finally last May told her I was done I couldn't do it anymore and I was filing for divorce and going back to Brooklyn that this whole thing was a big mistake she agreed with me and by then I knew she was dating again she told me. I called Steve and told him the divorce was going to be final in August and that's when I was coming home." he said as she laid her head on his shoulder
"Bucky do you want to go ahead and tell them the gender since everybody is here." she said
"It's up to you baby." he said
"We should just do it tonight. Not since in having a big party go get the stuff for Taylor and Chase." she said as she kissed him. He got down out of the tree house first and then helped her out and said "Yeah definitely to big for that thing."
"Hey by the way when I saw you that day in your living room I couldn't get over how incredibly beautiful you look now. You grew up but the one thing that didn't change when I saw you was the way these beautiful blue eyes of yours make me feel when we are together they are my lifeline." he said to her.
They walked in and Chloe said "Alright me and Bucky had an appointment today and we know the gender. Taylor and Chase Bucky has something for you."
Bucky came in with a bag from Target and said "Here's one for you Chase and one for you Taylor. Now we need Steve and the grandparents in the middle of the room with your backs to each other."
They all got in the circle they were told to get into and Chloe said "Let them have it kiddos."
They started to squirt blue silly string at them and they started screaming "It's A BOY!!."
Bucky placed his hands on her stomach and she whispered "James Bradley Barnes."
"Oh baby I love it. And it's the same iniitala as me and my dad." he whispered
"I know when we went by the cemertery the other day I saw his name said James B Barnes so I figured I was kinda suppose to keep up the tradition." she said to him
He smiled at her and said "Not really but I like the name baby."
"What's the name Aunt Chloe." Taylor said
"James Bradley Barnes is his name." she said
Her dad came over and said "It's perfect baby. James would be so happy to see this finally happening I for one know that I am. Cause I finally get to walk my daughter down the aisle and dance with her."
"Mom do you like the name." Bucky said to his mom
"I love it sweetie John is right he would be over the moon. He was a lot like Taylor he could see even if no one else did." she said
Everyone said their congrats and headed home for the night.
