*Tom's POV*
I groan and sit up groggily in my hospital bed. The TV is on, showing the red carpet interviews before the AMAs.
"Tom, you're awake! I'm gonna go grab Mum." Sam says suddenly from the corner. He quickly exits the hospital room, and my attention focuses back on the television screen. I see Shawn Mendes' name appear on the bottom, and soon I'm being forced to watch his interview.
"Did you hear about what happened to Tom Holland?" The woman asks, and Shawn seems unprepared for the question.
"Uh—well, I've only really met the guy once. It sucks that he was in a car crash. I hope he gets better soon." Shawn says politely.
"Any updates on the engagement—" the interviewer starts, but before Shawn can answer, a man gestures that the interview is over because Shawn needs to get seated inside. I sigh and turn my head away from the TV screen.
"Tom! We've been so worried about you! You've been unconscious for a few days now. We weren't sure you would ever wake up! We felt helpless!" My mum exclaims as she bursts through the door. She comes up and hugs me, and my brothers file into the room. I see the tired lines under their eyes, and I smile weakly.
"I love you guys." I tell them softly.
"Tom, there's also something you need to know." Mum states. I give her a confused and questioning look, and she turns to look at Harry. Harry shuffles uncomfortably before letting out a breath.
"(Y/N) hasn't left the waiting room for the past few days. It's honestly scary." He admits.
"What?" I nearly choke on the words. My throat is so dry, and my body is beginning to noticeably ache from the accident. "She's here?"
"Should we allow her to come see you, or would you rather not?" Mum asks.
"I can handle it. Plus, now I'm curious as to why she's here when she's supposed to be at the AMAs." I answer. Mum nods, and shoos the boys out of the room once more. A minute passes before (Y/N) walks in. Her eyes are glued to the floor as she shuffles on her feet awkwardly. She's only a step or two into the room, leaving an uncomfortable distance between us.
"How ya feeling?" She asks softly.
"Sore, but fine."
"Well that's good..." she mumbles awkwardly.
"Look, why are you here and not at the AMAs with Shawn?" I ask in a slightly annoyed tone. I wasn't actually mad at her for being here, but I wanted to know she hurt me before.
"You almost died, Tom!"
"Well you're not my girlfriend, so why should you care?" I sass.
"Whatever. Sorry for caring."
"What's the deal?" I ask, still confused.
"It's complicated." She sighs.
"I have time for complicated. Talk to me. It's the least you can do."
"I'm sorry okay? I'm sorry that I messed things up, but you aren't the only victim here! When your fame grew, you had no time for me, Tom! You missed birthdays, anniversaries, dates. It wasn't the same anymore." She explains.
"I know. I blame myself for you leaving. I blame myself for you having to run into Shawn's arms. I think about that everyday. If I could do it over, I'd treasure you everyday, but I can't. You're with him now. Go see him at the awards. I'm fine here." I say sadly.
"Tom, don't you get it? I'm not with Shawn anymore. I had to call off the engagement and dump him this past weekend. It wasn't fair of me to use him as a rebound from you. I wanted to make sure the man I marry is the one I truly love, and I don't think that man is Shawn. I thought he was for awhile, but not anymore. Especially after I was told about the accident. I'd never felt such fear and heartbreak until that call. I know this is hopeless to ask, but please can we give 'us' another chance?" She rants. I grin widely.
"Oh fuck yes. Please." I state. (Y/N) walks up to my bed and leans down to kiss me. "Don't break my heart again."
"I promise. I never knew what I had until it was gone. I fucking love you, Thomas Holland." (Y/N) smiles.
