Birds are chirping,
the sun is rising,
the day is starting,
yet my eyes are still wide open.
My mind is swimming,
ideas going around and
around and
around.
I wish that I grew tired.
That my eyelids were heavy.
That I could just sleep forever.
But I'll be here, awake, for hours.
