**Krystal**

I woke up to the sound of my phone blaring out the chorus of the song 'Payphone' by Maroon 5. I knew the ringtone had to be for none other than Monica. I reached for it and answered reluctantly.

"Hello?" I said groggily, rubbing my eyes

"Hola! Chica que pasa?" A shrill voice answered on the other line making me jump a little.

Only Monica would be that excited in the morning. I looked at the time on my phone 6:30 a.m! Why would she call me so early? It was probably 7:30 or something in Newyork.

"Geez, why are calling me so early have you forgotten I'm not exactly a morning person? and why are you up so early" I said a bit ruder than I intended. I just wasn't a morning person and sleep was very important to me.

"Oh yeah, sorry I completely forgot, but since our best friend didn't even call us yesterday to tell us she landed safely, excuse me for wanting to check up on her." She said her accent was extremely thick. I heard a shrill giggle and I immediately recognized that as Cashae's laugh.

They must have had a sleepover.

I felt a pang of jealousy as I imagined them getting closer without me, just one day after I was gone. I sighed, "Sorry you guys, I was just busy helping my mom unpack and you know jetlag and stuff."

"Oohh ok good, so how is Texas? Are they nice? Have you met any boys? Are they cute?" Cashae started asking me so many questions.

"Shae one question at a time." I heard Monica say.

"What I just want to know" Cashae answered back. I didn't want these two arguing when I was miles away from them, it could get ugly. They didn't exactly see eye to eye on lots of things.

"Its fine, Nica and Shae Texas is nice it's a little breezier here than I thought, and lots of trees and houses ,definitely different than New York, I don't know about the people yet I just moved here technically and the boys..." I paused remembering about Scott, the guy I met yesterday with that banging Range Rover and how he could possibly be one of my  neighbors. I didn't want to tell them about him yet, knowing Cashae she would probably demand I send her a picture of him and search him on Facebook or something, so I simply said "I haven't really met any boys yet guys it's only been a day, but when I do, you know I'll let ya'll know, Anyways you guys I'm tired and sleepy. Can I call ya'll later?" I yawned.

I heard the disappointed groan from Monica "Ok fine, you better call us, we love you and miss you already! Chica Adios."

"Byeeee!" Cashae said, and with that I hung up the phone and proceeded back to my sleep.

**4 hours later

I got up from my bed and headed to the bathroom. I couldn't help but think about what I would do here today. Back home in New York I would always be out with my friends, whether it was out shopping in Soho or sightseeing in Times Square. I was never bored. But here I didn't know anyone yet and school hadn't started so I would have to wait at least a month until I finally made friends.

Maybe I can take a walk around the neighborhood ors omething, I thought.

After I was out the shower, I went to my walk in closet, which is definitely the best feature of my room, and I picked out an outfit for today.

I decided on some dark gray short shorts, I got  from Pacsun and a blue off the shoulder crop top that had faith written across it in gray. I paired it with my black sandals and a Forever 21 gray and white heart necklace.

After I dressed up, it was hair and makeup time. I wasn't that much into makeup but since I was potentially going to walk around... First impression means everything. I blow-dried my wet curly hair and tied a black and blue scarf around my head creating a bow on my right side. I then put on concealer and eyeliner, a pink diamond lip gloss, and then proceeded out of my room.

I could smell the intoxicating scent of coffee everywhere in the house, and I knew my mom was behind it. I walked into the kitchen and saw her in a purple dress with her hair in a messy bun and a coffee mug in her hand sitting at the breakfast table.

"Goodmorning." I chirped startling her a little. "Morning, honey. And where are you going looking all dolled up?" She asked checking out my outfit.

"Nowhere. I was thinking of heading out around the neighborhood, I saw a park at one of the blocks, I'll just go chill there or something." I grabbed one of the banana nut muffins and poured myself a cup of coffee.

"Oh, that park is a little far? Do you want a ride?" She asked.

I looked at her confused. "But we don't have a car." I said.

"Oh yeah I didn't tell you, the car that I shipped over here came this morning, that's why I was up, they had one of the guys drive it to us." She stood up and grabbed what apparently were car keys."Come out and see." She said heading towards the front door.

I followed her outside. "No way!" I shrieked in front of my garage way was a black Mercedes Benz truck, the new edition gleaming in the sun. "Mom how could you afford this ?!" I questioned.

She laughed, "Well it comes with the job promotion, they said I needed a car to move around and the boss ultimately gave me this bad boy here."

I was filled excitement. "Awesome, thats so cool! I would so like that ride." I said to my mom.

We headed back inside as my mom was dressing up to give me a ride. I got my phone and my bag and waited for her.

My mom dropped me off at the park which was a little bit far from my house. It was near a different neighborhood, which I couldn't help but notice, looked very residential sort of like you had to have at least $400,000 and up in your bank account to live here. The houses were huge and had big driveways. Thank God my mom gave me a ride; I would be so out of my comfort zone walking through here.

"Ok, here we are, call me when you are done exploring the park, and remember no talking to strangers ." My mom said coolly with a stern voice.

"I know I know, I'm not a little kid anymore Mom" I said rolling my eyes in annoyance ,as I  grabbed my things and opening the door of the truck which smelled just like a new car and had awesome interior, I'm kind of into cars. I got out and watched as my mom drove off.

I turned towards the park and studied it. It looked more like the Garden of Eden than a park if you asked me. The grass was very green it looked almost artificial and trees were everywhere. I walked down the walkway and looked around with awe. It was peaceful and breezy, felt like a good place to read a nice book or paint a picture. I noticed it had a basketball court, a tennis court, and a recreation center. This park was huge nothing like the parks in New York, that's for sure. I was mainly attracted to  the ssmall  pond over to the side and the soothing sound of the waterfalls. I walked over to the bench facing the pond and sat down, enjoying the cute little fishies swimming around.

I closed my eyes for a second then was interrupted by a voice "Can I sit here?" I recognized that deep yet soft voice immediately.

**Scott**

I woke up a little earlier than I intended to, after getting home late I was hoping I would wake up at like 2 in the afternoon or something. But I wanted to get out the house; I didn't want to have to run in with my mom again. I got up from my bed and headed in the shower. After 20 minutes of showering I got out and proceeded to dress. I was thinking of going down to the park today, I needed to sit down around the pond area and listen to the soothing water. It was the only thing that calmed me down

I got dressed in my dark low-rise Tommy Hilfiger jeans and a white v neck shirt with my blue chuck Taylors I spiked my blondish-brownish hair up. I just wanted to look simple and laid back. I got out my white and blue striped Abercrombie and Fitch cardigan just in case it got a little chilly later on in the day. Next I picked up my phone, which had 25 messages and 10 missed calls, all from girls, probably, got my car keys and wallet and headed out the bedroom door.

I made sure to walk silently so my mom wouldn't hear me, after last night's blowout I knew it would create some intensity between us.

I walked out the front door without getting breakfast to eat. Oh well I'll just get a hotdog later on at the park. I got in my Range rover and sped off.

I arrived at the park like 25 minutes later and parked my car in the parking lot. As I was heading towards the park, I saw a black Mercedes Benz truck parked along the sideway, over to the side. I wonder who it is. I smiled to myself. Even though I was in no mood for socializing, flirting with a cute girl wouldn't hurt. The door finally opened and I saw a mass of curly hair first before I saw who the girl was.

"No way!" I said to myself, It was Krystal! The girl I met yesterday when I was leaving Nicks house. It had to be her. I'd recognize that face anywhere.

She looked even cuter than yesterday from what I could tell, she was saying something to the driver of the car, which I suspected was her mom. Not bad for people who lived in a middle class neighborhood. The car was definitely high class. I proceeded towards her but stopped when she turned around towards the park not noticing me.

She looked so hot in her gray short shorts, and a dark blue, which is my favorite color, off the shoulder crop top. Her hair was held back by a black and blue scarf which made a bow on the side. Her dark brown skin complimented her so much.

I was hooked as I found myself looking. She started to make her way towards the walkway and I followed her. The way she walked and how her hair bounced with every step was turning me on in ways I could not describe. I wanted to see her face so bad and see that dimpled smile.

Gosh, Scott what's wrong with you, you said you wanted to be single and hook up with random girls. I reminded myself.

But this girl seemed different, I wanted to know her and be a friend to her and I didn't know why. But I was ready to find out. I kept following her and then I saw her going in the same direction as I was planning to go. Towards the pond. She walked over filled with excitement and sat down.

Now was the time, I could finally talk to her. I walked over to the bench , looking like a creep but who cares, she was sitting on and spoke, "Can I sit here?" She immediately opened her eyes and I was instantly mesmerized by them.

Oh boy, this is gonna be harder than I thought.

***Picture on the side is of a couple who sort of resemble Krystal and Scott ;) so cutee
