Louis stared at himself in the mirror as he was stood in the bathroom alone. The material of the tshirt he was wearing stretched over the bump, it was already too small just from a week or so. "I think I'm going to need some new clothes Haz..." he rubbed his palms across his stomach and sighed.
"I have some jumpers and bigger stuff at home but-" Harry stuck his head around the door and joined Louis at the mirror. "Then why don't we go and get them?"
Louis' eyes widened and turned to him, "w-what?"
"You have keys under the door mat right? Why don't we go when your mums at work and grab loads." Harry rolled the top up and looked down at the thing wriggling inside of his husband.
"She's only going to get bigger, we should get them now before the road trip." Louis nodded and agreed, leaving the bathroom with Harry. "Come one then, get your shoes on."
"Wait, like, now now?" Louis' excitement built thinking he was going to return home, even if his mum wouldn't be there, he thought it would make him feel better.
"Yes, like now now!" Harry giggled, sitting down on the bed with his own shoes, tying the laces.
Louis jumped up and smiled, collecting his and doing the same as his husband. They were both downstairs and out of the house in 10 minutes, it was 1:45pm so that meant Jay would be at work for a few more hours, they would be gone by then obviously.
Harry hadn't told his parents, he'd only said they were nipping out to the shop to get some food, Anne and Robin would both not like the idea of Louis going home for several reasons that barely made sense.
The two got out the car after arriving at Louis home, with no car on the drive. Harry was about to speak but Louis ranat the door, fiddling with the key that was already in his hand. He had a wide grin and Harry saw how happy he was to be home.
The door to the house opened and Louis rushed in, standing for a second and looking around, it had only been just over a week since he was here but yet it had felt a lot longer.
"They're a big cardboard box at the top of my wardrobe," Harry nodded and followed Louis up the stairs and to his room. The smaller attempted to reach the box, standing on his tiptoes as Harry watched, trying not to laugh.
"I-I'm....almost, I-It's j-just...I-I'm tall enough-" Louis' fingers kept skimming against it, still not enough for him to have at least a light grip on the box. He gave up after a few more failed attempts and turned around with his arms crossed and a pout on his lips.
"Are you too small?" Harry chuckled, stepping forward to the wardrobe. "I'm not small," Louis huffed, trying to think of an excuse. "My wardrobe's just really big," Harry rolled his eyes and continued giggling at Louis in denial.
He didn't even have to stand on his toes to collect the box from the top shelf of the normal sized wardrobe. "Thanks." Louis grumbled, turning and blowing the dust off of the 'clothes-that-he-still-had-time-to-grow-into' at the age of 19, his mum always believed he would be at least 6ft, maybe that was the reason for Louis always thinking he was 5'9.
Lies.
Louis couldn't even think about being taller than Harry now. He had accepted being small since he had been with him, he liked the forehead kisses, the oversized 'borrowed' jumpers and of course being a little spoon.
The box was opened to reveal several jumpers, tshirts, sweat pants and jeans. "Think these will be okay for a while."
Louis folded them back up and put them in a bag that he'd brought from Harry's so that if his mum wanted to look in his room it would look like they were never there. Which was what they wanted.
"You ready?" Louis paused and took a second.
"Will I be coming back?" His voice broke as his eyes traced back to Harry's. "I-I don't know Lou."
He sighed and swung the bag lightly around his knees, trying not to get upset. "What if I don't see my mum again."
"You will Loui-" he looked back up from the bag with visible tears in his eyes, giving Harry a look to not lie. He stopped midway though his sentence and gulped, swallowing the lump in his throat.
"I don't know."
"Will we ever know?!" Louis cried, dropping the bag on the floor and tossing his hands up.
Harry stepped forward to him but didn't touch him, not holding his hand, his arm or his cheek. Inches off he whispered.
"I don't know."
