Chapter nineteen
As I sat in this empty dirty room,random stuff popped in my head.But the thing that worried me the most: Is Jay even looking for me?Is anyone looking for me?
Suddenly,the sound of footsteps snapped me out of my thoughts.Jordan walked into the room with a stupid smirk plastered on his face.
"Alexandra"he grinned like an idiot.I rolled my eyes,"Why are you so fucking happy,asshole?"
He grabbed my face and his facial expression darkened,"If I were you,I'd watch my tongue".
"Asshole"I repeated glaring at him,"You are a worthless piece of shit".
He closed his eyes tightening his grip on my face,then suddenly pulled out a gun from his jacket,"Listen you little bitch"he said placing the gun by my head,"I'm this close to getting my money,and you are NOT gonna ruin it.So you better shut that little mouth of yours because I'm not afraid to shoot you in the head and get rid of you,got it?!"
I held still.Jordan turned into a freaking psycho.
"Jordan"a feminine voice spoke.My heart stopped in my chest.Clic,clic,clic.The sound of her heels clicked on the wooden floor,making me freeze on each step.
The she devil walked into the room and stood in front of me,with a dirty smirk on her red lips.
"Missed me?"
Jordan stood up and placed the gun back in his jacket,"Meet my partner,Ruby Sinclaire".
Jordan and Ruby,together,partners,what?
"She looks so confused"That bitch said,"Maybe we should explain everything to her".
Jordan leaned on the wall,"Maybe we should".
She took a few steps closer,"I told you to watch out Alexandra,but sadly you ignored me,and now look what happened".
"What do you want from me?"
"I think we both know.I want you to leave Jay alone"she crossed her arms over her chest.
"That's never gonna happen"I raised my eyebrow.A bitter laugh echoed in the room,"Look at you!A nobody who suddenly shows up in Jay's life.How could you actually believe that a rich handsome man like him would actually love someone like you".
Someone like you.
"Let's face it.You are trash,and that's for life,"she said looking down at me.
Jordan stood there listening to every word.
"At least I'm not the one who has a nasty drug addiction"I spat out between gritted teeth.They both glared at me at the same time with blank expressions.
"You little whore!"She screamed and slapped my already bruised cheek.Jordan ran and grabbed her hand before she slapped me again.I wanted to scream in pain but I tried my best to stay still.
"Let me go!"She shouted squirming in Jordan's arms,"I promise Alexandra,I'm gonna fucking kill you-"
"Miss Sinclaire",someone spoke cutting Ruby off.A tall guy,probably one of Ruby's guards walked in the room and whispered something to the both of them.
"We have to go..Now"Jordan said then his gaze shifted back to me.Two other men entered the room and one of them unlocked the chains wrapped around my hands.
"What's going on?"I asked as the two men grabbed me tightly by the arms.Ruby turned around and glared at me,"that's none of your business bitch.Blindfold her".
Before I could even say another word,they wrapped a black piece of tissue around my eyes.
"Move guys,fast"I heard Jordan say,"Walk Alexandra"he commanded.
The ice cold air sent shivers down my spine and I knew that we were outside.
"Where are you taking me?Jordan?"I said my heart racing in my chest.Suddenly I heard a car engine roar to life,"Get her in the car guys"he said.They pushed me inside and I instantly felt the car move.After what seemed like five minutes,Jordan spoke again,"Remove her blindfold".
They did as they were told and I immediately scanned my surroundings.We were in the middle of..nowhere.I have never seen this road before,which made me even more scared.
After driving for a few more minutes,we arrived to a little cabin in the mountains.It was foggy and looked like it was about to rain.Two more cars parked behind us,and Ruby stepped out the same time I did.
The two men stood between me and walked me inside the cabin.
"Take a seat"Jordan said pushing me on the sofa,and sitting next to me.I saw Ruby walk to the corner and carry a small brown bag.
"It's all here"She said handing it to him.His face lit up like a christmas tree,"Pleasure doing business with you".
She smirked and looked at me,"Jordan got what he wanted,now it's my turn.I'm giving you two options".
"Two options?"
"I know that you only agreed to marry Jay because of your father,so the first option is that I pay the five million dollars to Connor,anonymously of course,and you ask for a divorce from Jay".
"What's the second option..?"I said between gritted teeth.
"I fucking shoot you in the head and get it over with".
My eyes widened at that second option,"Are you fucking insane?I choose neither".
"Let me guess,you won't choose the second option because you'll die of course,and the first one it's because..you love Jay don't you?"
I closed my eyes at that thought and I remembered Jay's face the other night.I made a huge mistake by not telling him that I love him..because I do.
"So that's it"She let out a sarcastic laugh,"You love him".
I looked at her wanting to jump and scratch her eyes out.She raised her eyebrow,"Silly,silly girl.Don't you know that Jay loves me?"
I shook my head,"You are delusional".
"Oh yeah?Two years ago,I got pregnant".
"W-what?"I almost choked on my words.
"He was my everything,and I was gonna be the mother of his child.But unfortunately the pregnancy was unstable and I ended up having a miscarriage"she said,her eyes softening and tearing up,"But he loves me,I know he does".
Her facial expression turned dark again,"You are just a distraction,just something to make him forget about me.That's why you need to walk out of his life".
"You..do you realise how psychotic you are Ruby?"I growled at her,"Accept the fact that he doesn't love you and leave me the fuck alone!"
"You are the one who is gonna leave Jay alone!"She yelled back,her face turning red.
"Over my dead body!"
"Well that can be arranged"she growled pulling a gun out of her jacket and pointing it at me.I closed my eyes waiting for that sound,waiting for the pain..
Boom.
My eyes flung open and I realised that the sound wasn't from Ruby's gun,but..
"Go go go!"I heard someone shout from outside and suddenly it was like a battle field.Gun shots all around the place,breaking the window glass,screams and shouts everywhere.
"ALEXANDRA"and then I heard his voice.
Jay.
My heart was filled with hope again at the sound of his voice,"JAY!"I screamed squirming in the men's arms.Jordan pulled out his gun and aimed at the door.As for Ruby,she began panicking and immediately stood in the back.
"JAYYY!"I shouted again trying to escape their grip.
"Come on.."Jordan whispered ready to shoot the first person who comes inside.My heart pounded in my chest and my body felt numb.
Suddenly,a big man in black brutally opened the door and the shooting started.The men holding me let go and took out their guns.I escaped their grip and immediately hid behind the sofa,covering my head with my hands.
I glanced around and saw Ruby hiding behind the couch in the corner,fear written on her face.All of a sudden,everything stopped,just like that.I slowly stood up and my gaze landed on the dead bodies of the two men.Jordan on the other side sat in the corner on the floor with a bloody arm.
In just a few seconds this place turned from a simple old cabin to a bloody battle field.
Jay stood by the door and his gaze landed on me.
"Jay!"I screamed and ran towards him,jumping in his arms.He wrapped them around my body tightly and I buried my head in his warm neck,my eyes tearing up.
"I thought you weren't gonna come-"I said but he placed a finger on my lips,"Don't you ever say that okay?You have no idea how worried I was.I'd never forgive myself if something happened to you".
I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him into a kiss,the sensation of his warm lips sent shivers down my spine.
"Hmm..Um boss?"One of Jay's men interrupted us,"I hate to break 'this' up,but what do you want us to do with him?"he pointed at an injured Jordan.
"Take him to the car,I'll follow you guys in a few minutes"Jay said.The men grabbed Jordan and took him out.
"Let's go back home baby"Jay placed his arm around my waist and we both walked outside.
"Oh did you forget about me?"Her voice rang in my ears.
Shit.
We both turned around and our gaze landed on Ruby.Jay tightened his grip on my waist and pulled me closer,"Ruby-"
"No!"she screamed,"Why Jay?Why are you doing this to me?"
"Doing what?!"He growled,running out of patience.
"I love you!"She cried out taking a few steps closer.I closed my eyes and took a deep breath,"He doesn't love you,just accept that fact and walk away now,unless you wanna go to jail."
She let out a bitter laugh,"Me?!Go to jail?!Alexandra you have no idea what I'm capable of-"
"Enough!"Jay shouted,"I don't want anything to do with you anymore!"
He took my hand in his and we both turned around,walking back to the car when suddenly she shouted again,"If I can't have you,then no one can!"
My head spun around and I saw her pointing a gun at me.
"RUBY!"Jay screamed when suddenly a bang echoed in the cabin.
Everything went silent.
Not a single sound.
It only took a moment for me to feel the sudden pain ringing in my stomach.I raised my hand and touched it;the warm blood poured down my body.
I've been shot.
My whole body was paralyzed and numb,I could barely stand up.
"A..Alexandra"Jay mumbled in shock.I slowly turned to look at him and everything felt like slow motion.I had no balance,I'm falling.
Suddenly,I felt myself being carried bridal style by Jay who ran towards the car shouting.
He placed me in the back seat,my head on his lap.
"Alexandra,stay with me okay?You're gonna be alright"he mumbled,his eyes tearing up,"you're gonna be fine I promise".
"Jay.."I cried trying to catch my shortening breath,"Am I dying?"
"No no don't say that baby you are not dying!We are gonna get you to the hospital you are gonna be okay baby"he continued caressing my hair,"Faster!"he shouted.
Tears rolled down my cheek and my wound burned more and more leaving me out of breath,"I don't wanna die"I cried out.
"You are not gonna die I promise Alexandra,just stay with me alright?Alexandra?"
My eyes started to shut down.My vision,blurry,almost left me blind.I couldn't even lift one finger.
"Jay.."I whispered.
"Yes baby,come on open your eyes stay with me,we're almost there"He cupped my face.
"I.."I let out one last breath before everything went black,"I love you".
