"Wow, Tom Holland is such a fucking joke." A girl in front of me in line at Chick-fil-A laughs nasally. Thank god Tom is in the bathroom so that he doesn't hear her hurtful words. She's showing her friend pictures of Tom as she picks out flaws about him. I feel myself heat up in rage. Does she not realize Tom Holland's girlfriend is right behind her? I feel Tom slide into line behind me, and intertwine our fingers. I look up at him and smile weakly, before turning back around to listen to the hater's conversation. She still hasn't noticed that Tom Holland is literally standing behind her. She begins to talk about how short he is and how his eyebrows are "fucked up". I feel Tom's hand squeeze mine, and I know he realizes they're talking about him. That's what does it.
"Um, excuse me." I tap the girl on the shoulder. She turns her head a bit to look at me, and her friend finally notices Tom. The friend's mouth shuts as she stiffens. The girl who was talking shit doesn't notice Tom beside me however.
"What?" She asks judgmentally.
"I'd appreciate it if you'd stop talking shit about my boyfriend in front of him." I sass.
"I wasn't saying anything about your boyfriend, I was talking about—" she starts, but when she spots Tom, she goes silent. Realization is clear on her face for a second, but soon a grin replaces it.
"If he can't take hate, then he shouldn't be famous. He's honestly the worst Spider-Man." She states, looking me dead in the eyes, acting as if Tom isn't even a real person standing right there. I look up and see Tom's calm demeanor falter, as a brief look of sadness and doubt crosses his face.
"You fucking bitch!" I yell, reaching to slap the shit out of her. I feel Tom's arms pull me back, and he quickly drags me out of line.
"Babe, it's okay. We don't need to end up on TMZ. Let's just go eat somewhere else." Tom says to me, as he leads me out of the restaurant. People stare, both from hearing me yell, and recognizing Tom Holland.
"I wanted to pull her fake-ass extensions right out of her fucking head!" I tell him, and he laughs before practically picking me up and shoving me into the passenger seat of his car. He gets in on the driver's side, and starts the car. We sit in silence for a minute, before he turns and kisses me on the cheek.
"Thanks for sticking up for me." Tom whispers.
"I was ready to throw down. Like if I ever see her again, I'm gonna square up!" I fume, and Tom laughs. He seems to think picturing me in a fight is funny and cute. I pout.
"She was like twice your size, but I love you so much for that, love." At that, he puts the car in reverse and pulls out of the parking lot.
"Well now I'm hungry and we need to find a food place, and fast." I complain. He grins, and hits the gas.
