Chapter 25
EMILY POV
“Tag! You’re it!!!” I nudged Louis lightly and sprinted off to the shore. We were now at the beach with everyone including Lucy.
“OHHH! I’m gonna get you!!!” Louis shot up to chase me
In a few seconds, he wrapped me up, lightly lifting me up before we both fell to the sand, laughing. He looked at me intently before gently kissing me. we stayed in that embrace for quite a time, just feeling each other’s lips with the sound of waves crashing.
“GUYS! YOU’RE IN THE BEACH NOT IN YOUR ROOM!” Zayn called off
Of course. You could always count on Zayn to break every single romantic moment.
I lightly broke off from Louis, half sighing-half groaning. Louis chuckled as we both got up and walked over to our spot hand in hand.
Sandwiches, fries, fish fingers and other food were prepared and laid out already.
“Eat fast guys!” Ally said after she stripped off her tank top, revealing a royal blue bikini. She ran off to the beach immediately
All of us responded to Ally with agreement but Lucy didn’t say a word.
“Aren’t you going to take a dip Lucy?” Danielle asked
“Errr, naah”
“What? But Luc, you love to swim! Why the sudden refusal?” I retorted
“I’m not really in the mood to swim”
“In the mood or not, you still have to!” Louis called back
“Uh-huh! You gotta cherish this Lucy, the sun barely shines this much in London!” Liam explained
“Exactly!!” Niall emphasized
“noooo” Lucy teased
“Oh come on Luc! “just don’t refuse! Or else…” Harry tugged her in the arm “I’m gonna have to force you and I’ll get you so wet!” he laughed
“HARRY!” I shot my eyes at him, immediately sensing the innuendo
Lucy laughed really hard and so did everyone else. Harry looked at me with an innocent face
“Not even funny!” I said
“Ems! It’s fi…inee” Lucy reasoned out “Alright Curly head, I’ll go swim later!” she ruffled Harry’s hair, immediately consenting. Wow. That was a quick change of mind.
The whole morning we were in the beach, I had noticed that Harry and Lucy just couldn’t be separated. They flirted and frolicked in the shore but nothing romantic could be sensed either. What was going on between them? I don’t know. It just confused the shit out of me.

At around 4 pm, we drove our way to the banks of River Thames. When we got there we originally just had the plan to walk around but Liam had a whole different plan in his head
“Hey Luc! Have you ridden the wheel yet?” Liam asked
“Me? no” she replied
“WHAT!! How could you have not ridden the London Eye!” Ally exclaimed
“Come on! We HAVE to ride!” Louis called out
Before we knew it, we all got our tickets.
As we waited in line, I knew things weren’t going to go so good.
“OH, I am NOT riding that wheel!” Lucy finally confirmed. She always had a fear of heights
“Yes we will!” Niall said
“NO. Never! I don’t do heights!” She whimpered
“Lucy! Come on! I mean I don’t even like rollercoasters but this is different! Much better! You have to ride!” Zayn explained
I knew from then that no one could ever make her do such a thing. Lucy and I have basically travelled together to so many places and whenever we’d visit theme parks, she would never ride any of the high rides. She even refused to do a shoot on top of the Empire State once!
“NO. I won’t” She now pleaded
“Let’s go!” Harry cheered, he just came from the restroom
“Lucy won’t go” Danielle answered
“What? Why not?” Harry frowned
“She’s scared of heights, Haz”
“Aww” Harry hung one arm around Lucy’s shoulder and looked at her “Come on Luc, it’s gonna be fun”
“no. I won’t Harry. It’s…too..high” her voice trembled
“it’s gonna be alright! You’ll get the perfect view of the city! Look I promise you, it’s going to be fine.” Harry comforted her “Please, love?”
“Pleaseeeee” we all chimed in
“urghhh. Okay. But if I die of a heart attack, you all are dying with me!” She groaned
“YESSSS!!!” Liam exclaimed
WOW. Did Lucy, the girl who is so scared of heights really just consent to riding the London Eye?!
By the time we got on top, Lucy was still closing her eyes
“Luc, open your eyes! We’re almost on top! This is THE perfect view!” I encouraged her.
Louis wrapped me by the waist, Zayn, Ally and Niall looked out the window like little kids on their first ever ferris wheel ride, while Liam and Danielle were beside each other.
“Come on, Luc” harry rubbed her arm. He slowly took Lucy’s hand with his free hand and held it tightly. “You can open now
Miraculously, Lucy opened her eyes slowly and looked out the view. She cringed at the sight of how high we were and buried her head on Harry’s shoulder
Louis and I chuckled
“Luc! Come on! Open ‘em a little longer!” I said
I saw harry squeeze her hand as a sign of security as she opened her eyes again and this time took a longer look at the view. She seemed dazed either at the beautiful view, or at how high up we were
“Isn’t it beautiful?” Liam asked
She lightly smiled “Yeah"
“Just like you” Harry mumbled
Awww. It was incredibly sweet of Harry to comfort her. I mean, I knew this boy was trying to make a move but I could tell every act was genuine.
The whole way down, it was like Lucy lost her fear. Her eyes were open the entire time and she was smiling as her hands intertwined with Harry’s. I could tell she felt secured.

MONDAY.
What a weekend it was! Probably one of the funnest! From Lucy’s arrival, to the beach and our little adventure with the Eye.
I was now seated in my car as Louis drove me to work. He slept over at my house last night so I figured to drop him in the complex before heading to work, seeing as he didn’t have any car.
We arrived at the complex and he grabbed his bags from the back seat.
“So I guess I’ll see you tomorrow?” Louis smiled
“Uh-huh!” I said cheerily
“What’s for work today?” he asked
“err, signing for some contracts and ads. And then I’m off to the beach where Lucy’s shoot is. I promised to visit and bring her lunch.”
“Alright! Well, have fun!” He leaned over and kissed me
I kissed back “mhmm.. bye! I love you”
“I love you too! Thanks for dropping me”
He smiled and then closed the door.
I got to the office and saw a couple of black boxes and paperbags with the signature Zac Posen logo on it
“Hey Ems!” Rachel, Lily’s secretary, greeted me
“Hey Rachel. Do you know what these are?” I pointed to the boxes
“Oh. Those are for you! Zac’s PA left them here last Thursday. She says there’s a note somewhere there”
I nodded and searched for the note. I found it, it was in a hot pink paper with his handwriting on it.
“To my loveliest Emily, by the time you read this, I would’ve probably be back in the States already. It sucks we didn’t get to hang out besides after the show. Anyways, I’d like to once again thank you for always gracing my shows. Here are some presents for you. Those are all the outfits you wore during the show and a couple more. By the way, I also left 2 boxes there for your friends, Ally and Danielle. I know you love them ;) haha! See you soon dearest! I love you lots! –Zac P.”
I was beyond overjoyed! I loved the outfits he had sent me!!! Zac was really the best! And I’m pretty sure the girls will die when they find out!
When I had finished all my work, I dropped by to get some sandwiches and juice drinks for Lucy before heading down to the beach where her shoot was.
“ems!”
“Hey! I brought you some sandwich!” I smiled
She was in her robe and her hair was pinned down in curls
“Thank you! C’mon let’s eat! I’m starving!”
“How long is your break?”
“around 2 hours or so” she replied
We were eating when she suddenly exclaims “I have something to tell you by the way”
“Okay. what is it?” I said
“But I’m kind of scared. Knowing you, you will freak”
I got anxious. What is this she’ll tell me that I’d freak out about?
“Just tell me, Luc! God!”
“okay! okay! but don’t get mad please” she pleaded
“Just what it is it?” I asked again
“Well, I uhhh..”
“What?!” I squealed this time
“Uhhh.. Harry and i kinda hooked up last night”
My eyes grew wide. I was in disbelief
“You what!?” I shouted. Good thing it was only the both of us in the tent
“okay! Just shut up and let me explain, okay!”
“Luc! How could you! How could Harry do that! I told him to behave! I-----“
“EMILY! SHUT IT!” she silenced me “See, this is why I wasn’t gonna tell you. You would freak. Just calm your ass and listen to me! OKAY?!”
I looked at her blankly and nodded
“Look, Harry and I have actually been hanging out every night since I got here. Just in the hotel’s bar. We found out we had so much in common and that we were both the same, free-spirited. He’s like my first ever boy-best friend and last night I guess we realized we really had no feelings for each other but we both wanted each other. Soooo.. we decided to just go with the whole best friends, no commitments, having fun thing. No commitment because we can’t fucking deal with that right now and he really is a best friend. He actually listens to all my problems and he’s been quite open with me I suppose. Ems, look I know you’re worried and you want me to be serious with relationships but you know I’m not the type, especially not now. Trust me, I know what I’m going into so just please don’t be mad at Harry.” She finished off
I sighed. I didn’t exactly know what to say or what to even think of it.
“Fine” was all that could come out “But I’m telling you Luc. Be careful. I just don’t want you hurt. And I do love Harry and yes, he is the type to just hook up with anyone. I guess, you just both have to be careful. I don’t want you both hurting each other. Okay?”
“don’t worry!” she smiled and hugged me
I was worried yet what could I do? I had no right to stop them.

TUESDAY
I knocked on Louis door. We had planned to go bowling today for Lucy's last free day
“hey Love” Louis greeted me, kissing me in the cheek
“hey! Sorry, I’m a bit late”
“It’s good”
I entered and immediately heard Ally’s laugh. She was getting tickled by Zayn on the couch. Danielle was seated, cleaning her sunglasses while Harry and Lucy were on the floor playing some card game
“Okay guys. We’re complete! Let’s go!”
I wasn’t exactly feeling well today. I didn’t have enough sleep last night so I woke up late, which explains my tardiness and now my head was pounding.
We walked to the van where Paul was standing
“PAULLYYYY!!!” Ally ran to him
“Hello darling!” he hugged her
We were still waiting for Liam, Danielle, Niall, Lucy and Harry to walk out so I stood by the side mirrors in the van
“hey Ems, you alright?” Paul nudged my arm, snapping me out of what, apparently, was me spacing out
“Oh, uhmm Hey Paul”
“Yeah, you’re not alright.”
“What?”
“I asked you how you were. You don’t seem too well”
“yeah. My head is pounding” I said
“you should stay home, Ems”
“I can’t bail on the lads. Besides, this is Lucy’s last free day here” I explained
“Okay then. Should you need anything, tell me”
“thanks Paul”
Just then they all arrived and we hopped in the van
The teams were Lucy, Harry, Liam and Danielle, and then Zayn, Niall, Ally, me and Louis. Our team ended up winning which forced the other four to treat us out for dinner. I was feeling much better after taking my antibiotic.
During dinner…
“So you think we’ll see each other when you guys are on tour?” Lucy asked
“Of course you will!” Harry winked
As they both giggled. Everyone else knew already that both of them had their whole weird more than bestfriends relationship thing going on but no one seems to protest.
The night continued on very well. We all told stories of our embarrassing moments when we were children. Liam witnessed most of mine personally which made it more embarrassing.
I spent the night at Louis as Harry spent his in Lucy’s hotel….OH GOD.

We all got to the lobby where Lucy was to say goodbye to her before her flight at 2 in the afternoon.
“I promise we’ll hang out and eat! You still have to show me the best restaurants in LA!” Niall laughed, hugging Lucy
“we definitely will!!” Lucy laughed
“I’m gonna miss you, Haz!” She hugged him
“So will I Lucy! Promise me, no fun till I get to LA!”
“WHAT. You know I can’t do that” she exclaimed
“I know.” Harry laughed “I’m kidding”
They hugged each other, and you could tell there wasn’t anything romantic going on.
Everyone else said their goodbyes, and then my turn came.
“Emily” Lucy frowned
I looked up at her and felt tears form in my eyes. I just didn’t want her to leave yet! She’s managed to fit in right into our everyday lives since she’s got here! I stood up and hugged her so tightly, letting my tears fall
“I’m going to miss you so much” Lucy continued
“Me too, Luc!”
“promise me you’ll visit LA soon, okay?”
“Yes! Please hug Livy for me and hand mum the things I bought for her”
“I will love, don’t you worry!”
We hugged one last time and then she left to enter the car service, waiting for her. Tears were still falling down my cheeks as I felt Louis pull me into a hug
“shhh…” he rubbed my back

Okay, i know i immediately cut off Lucy's stay in England but worry not! It's just a PAUSE. Her whole "relationship" with Harry doesn't end here! It will be back soon! xxx
