School wasn't something that I was afraid of. Most people freak out about what teacher they had or what they would wear or if this year would be easy but for me I really never cared. I had lived for over a thousand years. I had already had those feeling of anguish and dread so now it was kind of like a routine. Fitting in never bothered me either. I'd join during junior year and once I graduated as a senior I'd just move and do it over again. The whole college thing wasn't for me. I tired it once and hated it. I actually got arrested for getting too drunk which isn't possible, I can't get drunk. So it just didn't work.

After living for so long I never cared about missing school either, which I did a lot. I mostly missed to do stupid jobs for Samantha or I was just too lazy to move my ass. It really just depended on the situation. Today, though, I was going. Not because I wanted to but because it was the first day and I had to be there. I've never missed a first day of school and today wouldn't be any different.

My alarm blared to life, bringing me with it. The blanket that covered my whole body weighted down on me, slowly coaxing me back to sleep, but my alarm only got louder. I ripped my blanket off of me and ran to the shower. The heated water pellets woke me up more and more, splashing me out of my groggy state. Wrapping myself in a towel, I stepped out of the shower and back into my room. I rummaged through my closet looking for something to wear.

I threw on some black skinny jeans, a grey Escape the Fate cut-off and my favorite black beanie. The cut-off exposed my sides, showing hints of the dragon tattoo that decorated my rib cage. The tattoos on my left arm were also exposed, showing the same dragon atop layers of mythical creatures that were inferior to us. At my wrist laid human bones broken and crushed, being the weakest, that were engulfed by black flames. It was the most interesting thing about me and I could stare at it all day, but time was ticking and I had school to attend.

I threw on my leather jacket and slung my book sack over both my shoulders before hopping on my Harley Davidson chopper and speeding towards school.

The parking lot was empty besides the teachers cars. I took the spot closest to the doors, kicked my kickstand down and turned off my bike. My hair cascaded down my back as I slid off my carbon black helmet and threw my beanie back on.

Teachers were scattered throughout the halls. For the most part they ignored my passing. If they said anything the music that roared in my ears drowned them out. Punching in my locker code, I felt a hand settle on the small of my back and a head rest on my shoulder. Her being here made me angry, but I didn't show it, I just continued opening my locker and placing my things inside.

She gently removed my ear buds, "You should be happy that I'm here with you. This way you don't have to fly between countries to get your work done, love." She whispered in my ear, nibbling on it a little.

I shook her off me and turned to face her. If she wasn't such a heartless bitch, I would have made her mine. She had times were she could be an angel, which she was, and could make any pain disappear. My stomach used to erupt in butterflies whenever she was around but now I felt nothing and probably never will again.

Her blond hair rolled in waves down her back, the shirt and skirt she was wearing were a little too tight, but hugged her so well. She looked like a teacher straight from any teenage boys fantasy and she played the part even better.

She pressed her body against mine, wrapping her arms around my neck. Her three minions kept watch at each end of the hall, making sure that no one saw her sexually harassing a student.

"Now, now don't be so sour. I've only got you for one period each day." She pouted, bring me closer. "I want you to meet me after school today okay, Rox? I've got an important job for you, hun."

I untangled myself from her embrace and headed towards my first hour class, despite having 30 minutes before it started. The halls were filling up by the minute with shouting freshman, running from one group to another, looking for a place to fit in.

One of them crashed into me, sending them on their ass. People saw and walked around the girl, ignoring her like she was trash. Out stretching my hand, I looked at her small figure. She was hesitant about trusting me but took my hand in the end. I leaned against the lockers and looked her over as she dusted herself off.

She had chocolate brown hair that matched her eyes. Her ivory skin was flushed from my being so close to her. She knew I was staring but pretended to further fix herself. She looked like a valley girl, but I didn't want to place a label on her quite yet. She reeked of roses and berries, but I resisted the urge to taste her.

"Uh sorry for bumping into you, thanks for helping me up, but uh I've got better places to be." She said quickly, avoiding eye contact.

"Wow, I'm not good enough for you, eh? And here I was thinking you and I could be pals." I joked, making a small chuckled escape her throat.

"Why would I want to be friends with a killer? What good could anyone gain from that?" She was staring right through me at this point and it was my turn to laugh.

"You're straightforward. That's good. I'm not here to kill you, kiddo. It's school. My prime intentions are to learn so don't worry. While we are here we are buds." My tone was simple and my voice clear. I had not intentions of hurting her while people could see me. That would be bad.

Ashley Yeager was her name and she was a target that Samantha wanted alive. As if Samantha knew she was here, she walked right next to me and beamed at the small girl. Her eyes were brighter than all the stars when she realized who it was.

"Oh Rox, grand job. I hadn't even told you about this jewel had I?" Her voice was full of joy and want, her hand gripped my shoulder.

David and Nico appeared behind the girl, grabbing onto her arms, and walked away with her. Why she hadn't made a noise? I'm as lost as you are. I really didn't care and made my way to my class, leaving Samantha in my wake.

Lunch was the last period of my day and I spent it with Emily, Ethan, Brittany, Victoria and Sebastian. People always assumed that we were the bestest of friends, but in reality I hated them all. They were obnoxious and annoying and I found myself enraged every time I was with them. Not to mention at least half of them hated me as well.

To the creatures who knew what we were, they thought we were a weird group. Sebastian, Emily, Ethan, and I were dragons while Brittany was a demon and Victoria a witch.

If I was taken out of the equation then they would be the happiest people who roamed this Earth, but I wasn't so they weren't. I really only stayed because Emily and Ethan were so fond of me. They idolized me, but pissed me off every chance they got.

Victoria was talking about some bullshit plan to rid any person of depression and despite my efforts of drowning her out she only got louder.

"So Rox, since you've lived on your own for centuries I thought that you could be a participant in my study." She said proudly.

"Are you saying that I'm depressed or depressing?" I asked plainly and she nodded her head in excitement.

"Have you ever tasted a Durian fruit?" I asked her, taking a bite out of my apple. She shook her head 'no' and I laughed.

"Well look it up because if your personality had a taste, that's what it would be." Sebastian and Brittany laughed, I assume because they knew what a durian fruit tasted like. (Go ahead. Look it up.)

Emily yelled for me to be nice and I just laughed. The bell rang dismissing us from lunch and out of these school walls. I gathered my things from my locker and headed towards Samantha's classroom. I knocked twice on her door before leaning against the door frame, waiting to hear her heels click against the floor.

Soon enough the sound was heard and the door flung open, revealing a tired Samantha.

"Rough first day?" I asked sarcastically, giving a sympathetic smile which only made her grunt in frustration. I walked into the classroom and saw her three mistakes surrounding Ashley, who was tied to a chair, beaten and bloody. She didn't say anything but her eyes were screaming help.

"What'd you do to her voice?" I questioned walking towards and kneeing before her.

Samantha chuckled, "I haven't done a thing to her." She said plainly.

"You know what I mean!" I spat. "Why can't she talk and why is she here?" I asked with a more demanding tone.

"Well, this is the first time I've ever seen you care about anyone, but if you must know that precious thing in front of you held answers to where my sister is. She was kidnapped a few days ago and I needed her to tell me where she is."

"Did she tell you?"

"Of course she did, hun. And this is where you come in handy. I need you to retrieve my sister and her friends from some of Omelnitskiy's men. Apparently after the death of Inshov he wanted a way to lure me out."

"When do you want me to leave?" I asked, untying Ashley from her torture chair.

"Tonight but what are you doing dear? You know she can't leave a--"

"I need her to show me exactly where the men are. After that, I'll take care of her." I said coldly.

Samantha nodded her head and opened the door for me. I quickly made my way to the locker room and turned on one of the showers. I pealed off her clothes that clung to her skin from all the sweat and blood and carried her towards the shower. Placing her underneath the warm water, I gently scrubbed away the blood that caked onto her skin and carefully cleaned the wounds and lacerations. At first, she flinched from my touch, but when she saw that I was only helping, her flinches subsided.

Once she was cleaned up I knew that band-aids would be of no help to her wounds, so after making sure the room was empty, I opened a portal to the one place that I knew would help.
