Hey guys... I just happened to check my email a few minutes ago and I happened to find out that my story 'My Imperfect Mr Perfect' has won 2nd place for best completed story in the Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Awards 2017...
Honestly, my first reaction was a scream (even though it's 10 o' clock at night here in London - people probably think something is wrong in the house). And now... I'm in tears...
I started writing a few years ago and this journey has given me so much... It made me realise that there is a writer within me ( something I'd never considered in my life before), it gave me self-confidence and most importantly it gave me you guys... But I've never won an award for writing - and frankly I've never really expected one because I've never considered my stories good enough for them. I've always been the silent girl who simply writes and posts, just expecting a few likes and comments in appreciation for her work. That's all I've ever expected and I've never dared to hope for more... And today, to see my story having received 2nd place - that too for my first ever baby, my first ever story, my first ever attempt at writing... I'm speechless. I feel like a hundred emotions are running through me right now and if I have anyone to thank for this wonderful moment, it's you guys.
Every single person who has ever nominated me for any award - a big BIG thank you to you guys. Thank you for thinking that me and my work are worth it. Thank you for thinking of me when giving in those nominations. THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE... I can't explain my feelings in words every time I see someone has nominated me for an award. I know I don't always have the time to personally message every one of you guys - I really wish I had the time for it, but I promise it has never gone unnoticed and I love you guys so much for the love you have given/are giving me.
And of course every single reader who has taken the time to read my story. Thank you so so much. Without your support, I could never have come this far - especially with the many downs that occurred in my life in the last 3 years... The support I got when my dad was in hospital, when he passed away, the condolences, the understanding messages, the supportive comments... I can never thank you all enough for being understanding always... I love you guys with all my heart and I can never stress that enough.
I'm so sorry that I've had to go on break because of final year exams but I promise that after June, when my exams finish (or hopefully towards the end of June) I should be back with updates. I will come back FOR YOU GUYS and finish my stories. I promise.
