After having spilled her heart's secrets to the room of vampires downstairs, Remi had been putting all of her attention onto this favor for Marcel. Usually Remi wouldn't think twice about about helping someone out; just a one-two-three and it's done; but there were just some things in life that she didn't want to think about right now, so she pushed them to the deepest darkest crevices of her mind and sealed them shut... at least until the night was over.

Remi stared at herself in the mirror, the long lilac gown from earlier elegantly draping down her waist. She truly felt like a whole other person while in it, which is another reason why she loved it so much.

Eventually the clock struck 10:00pm and she heard the Mikaelsons' voices from outside her bedroom door telling her to leave the building before anyone could see her. She finished adjusting her dress and walked over to the balcony window, letting the cold chill of night consume her. Remi slid down the fire escape, kicking her boots off once the reached the bottom and groaning as she put on a pair of Rebekah's heels.

"Showtime," she said to herself as she adjusted her posture, walking in towards the from entrance of the abattoir as if she were just another doe-eyed tourist.

Her lips parted as she stared in amazement at the unbelievable amount of people who were dispersed throughout the abattoir. Remi could see the Mikaelsons in the corner of her right eye and Marcel in the corner of her left eye, which sent a calming feeling throughout her chest. She made her way through the tall crowds, murmuring 'sorry' and 'excuse me' as she tried to reach a less densely-packed place.

An open bar suddenly popped up in front of her and she decided to stand beside it, crossing her fingers that Marcel's allegedly devious lackey would want a drink at some point.

After ten minutes of continuously fidgeting with her fingers, Remi started to feel doubtful that anyone would walk up to her. She turned her apprehensive gaze to where she had previously seen the Mikaelsons, and hoped that they would still be there. The hybrid was the first to notice her and sent her a reassuring wink, letting her know that he was still there. Remi chuckled and sent over a half-wave before turning her head back towards the bar.

"What can I get 'cha?" the bartender asked, seemingly exhausted from having to serve the hundreds of people at the party.

"U-um I-" Remi started to say, but was interrupted by a man in his mid-20's wearing a cocky grin that she wanted to kick off of his face.

"Get this woman a glass of your best whisky; neat," the anonymous man's deep voice said and turned his gaze towards a confused Remi.

"Sorry, do I know you?" she asked and raised her eyebrows.

"Not yet, but I know you," the man replied and Remi couldn't help but feel even more weirded-out. "I've been watching you stand here all alone for the past twenty minutes so I decided to come over and introduce myself- I'm Fernando," He said and Remi felt her heart quicken, knowing now that she was in the presence of the vampire that Marcel was talking about.

"Remi," she said and offered a smile. Just as the two finished introducing themselves, the bartender returned with the glass of alcohol that Fernando had ordered for her.

"Oh, I actually don't really drink," Remi said and shook her head, but Fernando pushed it further towards her.

"Come on, beautiful, it's a party... let loose!" He exclaimed and Remi knew that he would get bored with her if she declined. She internally screamed as she downed the battery acid that he had ordered for her.

"That's the spirit!" Fernando said and signaled for another round, and Remi felt the undeniable urge to punch him. She hated people like Fernando- people that knew how to manipulate others into doing exactly what they wanted simply by asking them; a master wordsmith with a knack for wooing girls was a dangerous combo alone, but combine that with vampirism and you've got yourself a first class asshole.

"So, Fernando, are you from here?" she asked, trying to learn more about the man.

"Born and raised right here in NOLA," he said and similarly downed a glass of alcohol. "Greatest city on Earth. What about yourself?"

"I'm just here for spring break actually. My parents live in Virginia and I go to school up in New York," Remi said, trying her hardest to sound convincing to the vampire who seemed to be analyzing her every move.

"How do you like it here so far? I know it can be a little overwhelming to tourists sometimes."

"It's great here. The people aren't too bad either," Remi said and smirked, but she was internally cringing at the words coming out of her mouth. She only hoped that the Mikaelsons or Marcel would stop him before things escalated.

At the opposite end of the room, the originals stood inconspicuously and continued to watch Remi interact with an older latino man. The music blasted throughout the spacious abattoir now filled to capacity with people from all over Louisiana, so their vampire hearing wasn't as effective as it usually would be.

"What are they saying?" Freya asked.

"I can't tell, but he seems a little too close for comfort," Klaus replied as he slammed down his glass and moved to intercept the pair at the bar but he was stopped by Marcel speeding over in front of him.

"Wait. She's getting somewhere with him, just give her a few more minutes," Marcel said as she blocked the Mikaelsons' view of the young girl.

By the time Klaus reluctantly backed down, Remi and Fernando were gone and a low growl erupted from where the Mikaelsons stood.

"I like you, Remi. You have an old soul. I don't come across many people like you too often," Fernando said and eyed her up and down. "Since you're a tourist, I assume you've heard a thing or two about the supernatural side of New Orleans," he spoke up after a moment of silence.

"Uh, only while passing by on the streets, why?" Remi asked, continuing the act that she was some naive tourist when in reality she was ten times as powerful as the idiotic vampire in front of her.

Fernando took another sip of alcohol before turning to look at Remi again. "Well, why don't I show you a little something? I want you to have the full New Orleans experience before you leave," Fernando smirked and took ahold of Remi's hand.

"O-oh well I don't know. I should probably be getting back to my hotel soon, it's kind of late," Remi said as her voice slightly cracked and she discreetly darted her eyes around looking for Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, anyone

"Don't be silly, follow me," He said as he looked into Remi's eyes, his pupils dilating as he spoke. Obviously Remi couldn't be compelled, but he didn't know that. Remi had the option of either ignoring his attempt at compelling her but also expose her act, or pretend like she's a regular human and follow him. It was a stupid spur of the moment decision, but she chose to pretend as though she was compelled and allowed him to lead her by hand to the back entrance of the abattoir and into the alleyway. Once they reached an opening near two dumpsters where only a booming echo of the music could be heard, Fernando let go of her hand.

"Whats this?" Remi asked as her voice shook. Her eyes darted around the small alleyway as she desperately waited for someone to burst out of the doors... but no one did.

"Well, Remi, this is the full tourist experience. Don't scream," He said, his voice now turning deep  and coarse as his lips forcefully connected to hers. Remi stood there, frozen in fear as he held her arms against the concrete wall. His mouth trailed to her neck as she felt his teeth sink into her neck and she let out a pained yelp. Fernando momentarily took his strong hands off of her arms, confused as to why she screamed after he thought he had compelled her. Remi felt something change inside of her in that moment. Her usual soft hazel eyes felt as though they were on fire and her arms subconsciously raised up like crosshairs to an unsuspecting target. She screamed, and he blasted into wall that she had formerly been pinned to.

"What the hell are you?!" He choked out, trying to break free of the invisible chokehold that the girl had him in.

"Let's just say I'm not a tourist, asshole," Remi growled as she contorted her hand in a twisting moment, hearing his ribs crack as his heart emerged from his chest. Fernando let out one last agonizing groan before falling to the ground with a thud.

She shook her head and stared at the limp body in horror as her hands began to tremor. After hearing the ruckus, the four Mikaelsons and Marcel flashed outside and were greeted with the heart of Fernando lying sloppily on the ground. Their eyes followed the drops of blood to a body, now very much deceased.

Remi felt her legs go numb as she slid down the concrete wall, her eyes not once leaving her hands now stained with invisible blood. She didn't want to kill him, but once it started she couldn't turn it off. It was as if she was possessed by anger for a minute, and that alone terrified her.

"Remi..." Marcel said as he stared guiltily down at her, knowing that it was partially his fault. He had done this to her.

"I killed him- I did that," Remi managed to squeak out. She had always prided herself on being generally a good person, but in that moment... she felt like the devil.

"What happened?" Freya asked with a concerned edge to her voice as her softened eyes drifted down to the girl.

"One second he was putting his gross mouth all over me and the next he was on the ground, his heart along with him," Remi said and closed her eyes, not wanting to look at the body anymore in fear that she would throw up.

Elijah walked to close the back door of the abattoir in order to conjure up some privacy from the booming party taking place inside, while Rebekah kneeled down in front of Remi and placed an arm around her shaking shoulders. Elijah walked back over and stared pitifully down at Remi. They wouldn't wish the burden of having to end a life on anyone, not even their worst enemies, which they definitely had a lot of.

"I didn't even realize what I was doing until it was over," Remi said, not fidgeting with her fingers- a tick that she had picked up long ago and was now almost a second nature to her.

"Don't blame yourself, Remi," Klaus said softly; a tone that he rarely used. "You had every right to sever his head clean off his neck," his soft voice a low snarl.

"How can I not blame myself?" Remi said, barely above a whisper.

"With everything that you have endured, you of all people have the right to be angry with the world," Rebekah said. Rebekah knew why Remi was so pissed; how could she not.

"It's because of my dad," Remi said as her nose scrunched up and her mouth writhed in disgust. "You know, I thought I was going to be so excited to meet him for the first time- like there would be some instant connection and it would make up for him missing almost 17 years of my life. But for some reason now that the days keep coming and coming, I just feel angry, so freaking angry. I mean- he literally branded me," Remi said and moved her hair away from her shoulder, revealing the dreaded mark given to her by her father.

"Of course you have the right to be angry with a man who has done nothing but turn your young life into circus of uncertainty and unreliability. His presence serves as a constant reminder of what everyone else has; normalcy. You can hate this awful man for as long as you live, but I promise you that feeling of anger will never leave if you do," Klaus said, as he stared directly into her eyes. He of all people knew just how much pain a father could inflict on a child. "I can hate him enough for both of us.  You should give him a chance; put yourself first for once. Build a relationship with him on your terms," Klaus said, no matter how much it pained him to do so. He hated the fact that Remi's biological father oozed such unwarranted arrogance, and he hadn't even met the man in person yet. No matter his personal views, he would hate for Remi to go down the same path that he did: resentment. He wanted Remi to face her father, something he could never do.

"Come on, sweetie, let's get you cleaned up," Freya said as she helped Remi up off the ground.
