Reina's P.O.V
Right now Kakashi is taking me to this Lord Hokage's office. I was really scared to meet this man that was so superior. I immediately thought that he would hurt me... Would he hurt me? Would he kick me out? Or worst of all, would he separate me from Kakashi?
Tears formed in the corner of my eyes at the thought of Kakashi leaving me. I shook my head and rubbed away the tears. There's no way I could lose him after he saved me. I glanced at Kakashi and remembered what he told me. 'Just hope for the best' and that's what I did. I nodded with my arms crossed and grunted softly. 'If Mr. Hokage won't let me be here with Kakashi... Then I'll just throw a fit. Yeah, I'll throw a fit,' I smirked evilly with a giggle.
"May I know what your giggling about?"
I jumped in shock while letting out a squeak. Kakashi was looking at me expectantly. I didn't answer right away, but he stood there waiting for an answer.
I opened and closed my mouth till I finally found something to say. "U-Uh, It was n-nothing Ka-Kakashi!" I blurted out quickly. Curse my stuttering!
Kakashi hummed and bent down to my height. "Are you sure, Reina-chan?" He asked.
I nodded my head rapidly. Kakashi towered over me and I gulped at the major height difference. 'Does he know I'm lying?' I wondered. Before I could say another word my hair was ruffled, pulling me out of my thoughts. I whined and pushed his hands away and started to tend to my hair. "Hm, I see..."
Kakashi started walking again. He didn't turn back to check on me. I stood still, surprised that he didn't even bother looking back. I shrugged my shoulders and let out a huge sigh of relief. 'I almost got caught with my little plan. I need to keep my giggles in.' I thought. I ran ahead, but I didn't see Kakashi at all. I looked around and only saw other people, but not one person was Kakashi. My lip trembled.
'Kakashi...K-Kakashi... Where are you?' I thought sadly. I whimpered. 'I lost him! I lost him! I'm all alone again. I'm all by myself...' I stared at the ground sadly, but my mood immediately changed. Hope and determination filled me. 'Kakashi said we were heading to the Hokage, so I can just ask someone to take me there! He might be there waiting for me!' I exclaimed in my head. I ran around asking people if they could take me to the Hokage, but all I received were dirty looks or people ignoring me. I went up to one last person; an old man.
I walked up behind him and tugged his shirt. "Excuse me, sir. I was wondering if you could tell me where the Hokage is...if you don't mind..." I muttered out nervously.
He glared at me hatefully, "Why would I tell a blue haired monster where the Hokage is?" He spat in my face.
I flinched back. His words hurt me, they reminded me off what my beaters had said... Monster, worthless, failure, mistake. But I couldn't give up now, I needed to see the Hokage.
I tried asking once more, but with more confidence in my voice. "Sir, can you help me find where the Hokage is, please?"
Sadly... It didn't work. He shoved me harshly. I fell to the ground. My face skidded across the cold hard ground. My eyes were wide in shock and in fear. He pushed me. He actually pushed me!
Scrambling up to my feet, I scurried away from the man. I heard him chuckle. "Run away like the monster you are!" He shouted at my retreating figure.
Warm tears slid down my face as I sniffled and ran away. I ran as far as I possibly could. Not too long after I started running, pain soared through my legs. My legs were weak and they begged for me to stop running. Finally I stopped and I slid against a wall, sobbing into my arms. All my feelings had busted out at once. 'First, I lose Kakashi. Then, I ended up being shoved to the ground when I asked for help!' I whimpered, 'This world is cruel.'
That was when I noticed the burning sensation on my cheek. Bringing my tiny hand up to my cheek I winced, as my salty tears were entering a cut along my face.
"Itai! It hurts..." I hissed in pain. I rubbed my cheek gently, "I just wanted to see the Hokage, is that so bad?" I whispered quietly.
I stared down at my legs which were beginning to go numb. They were beyond weak at the moment. I won't get anywhere with them like this, guess I'll have to wait a bit. Seems like this village is no different than my old one... I'm treated the same way even with new people; others who don't know about me. 'What did I do to ever deserve this pain?' I wondered sourly. More tears trailed down my face, but now they were silent ones. There was so cries, no whimpers. Not a sound came out of me. These tears were ones that hid my feelings.
"Hey, are you alright?" Someone asked. I gasped, and looked straight into the eyes of a man with brown hair up in a ponytail, and a scar across his nose.
"Y-Yes, I'm f-fine..." I mumbled out an answer. His eyes told me he didn't believe me one bit.
He grabbed my cheek gently, "If so, why is your cheek bruised. And why is it that you're crying?" He pointed out.
My eyes widened, then turned into a glare. "I fell..." I say easily, lying through my teeth.
"No you didn't."
My gaze snapped towards him and I glared at him darkly, "And how would you know that!" I spat.
He looked me straight in the eye. "There's no way you got that big of a bruise from falling. You had to be in an accident or something." My breath hitched in my throat. "Who did this to you?"
'Should I really tell him, or should I lie? I don't know what to do... Maybe, maybe just this time I should tell the truth...'
He smiled at me with a smile that could shower light in a dark room. I stared at him. I was dumbfounded by his kindness towards me. "I-I... Someone shoved me to the ground. I was scared so I ran away and then you found me here..." I explained.
He was glaring at the ground. He then looked up at me, "They have no right to push a child like that. Where are your parents, they're probably looking for you." He frowned.
I looked at the ground sadly. "I don't have any... I should probably tell you that a man brought me here. He saved me and brought me here so we could speak to the Hokage, but I lost him on our way there..." I whispered.
"Oh, I'm sorry... But I could take you to the Hokage if want." The man told me.
I grinned, "Really? You know where he is!" I exclaimed in joy.
He nodded with a grin. "Here, come with me." He held his hand out for me. I took his hand and he pulled me up.
We started walking, but as soon as I took a few steps I fell to my knees. I grunted, 'My legs are still weak.'
"Ah! Are you okay?" He asked me worriedly.
I nodded, "I'm fine. My legs are numb, that's all." I muttered shamefully.
"Is it alright if I pick you up then?" He questioned.
I nodded slowly and held my arms up, waiting for him to lift me up.
He grabbed my small, frail body and placed me on his hip. He was holding me like a mother would to her child. I squeaked and held on to him tightly. He chuckled then realization hit him, "Oh, I never gave my name. My name is Iruka. And you are?"
"Nice to meet you Iruka, my name is Reina," I said with a small smile.
"You have a nice smile, you know that? You should smile more often." Iruka complimented.
I blushed and buried my face in his shoulder, "I'll try to."
"Good." He replied.
Iruka grunted and moved his hands quickly. I stared at his hands move so gracefully.
"Hold on tightly." Iruka said.
"Eh, why-?"
POOF!
[ AT THE HOKAGE'S OFFICE ]
"EEKKK!" I screeched loudly.
I held on to Iruka with a death grip, my eyes were wide and I was panting like crazy. 'What...just happened?' I wondered. I heard Iruka chuckle, then go full out laughing.
I glared at him and stuck my tongue out, "Meanie! You scared me, what did you do anyways?" I asked in awe.
"A teleportation jutsu," He stated.
I grinned madly, "Can you teach me how to do that too?" I asked hopeful.
"Maybe, we'll see." Iruka smiled. I pouted at his answer.
Someone then cleared his or her throat. I jumped and faced the direction where the throat was cleared. Once I spun my body around to see who was making that sounds, I came face to face with some old person. It was an old man with a white beard and this big weird hat.
"Ah, Lord Hokage! Pardon the intrusion." Iruka apologized.
"No need to apologize, Iruka." Lord Hokage said, and then looked at me. "And this is?"
I hesitated. Iruka noticed this and assured me it was all right. He placed me on the ground and gave me a small shove towards this Hokage man.
I shifted around nervously, "M-My name is Reina..." I stammered out like an idiot.
He nodded, "Do you have a last name Reina?"
I froze, "Yes..." His eyes gained a spark of interest.
My heart was thumping like crazy. I knew that telling him my last name would possibly have me tossed out again, but this Hokage man is important by the way Iruka is acting. There's no point in hiding.
"What is it?"
I opened my mouth only to be interrupted my the door getting slammed open. "Lord Hokage!"
"Yes, Kakashi. What's the matter?" Lord Hokage asked.
My ears perked up. 'Kakashi is here?' I turned around and saw that he was a complete mess. His was sweating from all over his face and he looked extremely worried.
"I lost a child that I brought with me from the Village I was sent on a mission to. Her name is..." Kakashi finally saw me as his eyes glanced around the room, "Reina...."
I grinned, "Kakashi-san!" I yelled.
He ran up to me and swooped me up. His arms wrapped me in a hug. I hugged back just as happily.
"Kakashi do you know her?" Lord Hokage questioned.
"Yes, she was the child I happened to lose on my way here. I needed to talk to you about her, and it looks like I came just in time." Kakashi said from over my shoulder.
"I see. What was it you needed to talk about?" Lord Hokage asked.
Kakashi placed me back down and walked in front of Lord Hokage to start explaining the current situation. I noticed Iruka glaring at Kakashi's back. I frowned and walked over to Iruka's side. I grabbed his hand squeezing tightly. Iruka froze and glanced down at me.
"Iruka, is something wrong? Are you mad?" I asked.
He smiled and let out a chuckle, "I'm fine, sorry if I worried you."
I smiled and hugged his leg. "Good! I don't want you to be sad or mad! If you're mad it will make me sad." I whispered into his leg.
(A/N: YES. Reina is really short for a 6 year-old. Deal with it)
He picked me up with a smile and ruffled my hair. I pouted and fixed my hair, but my pout turned into a smile. I managed to make Iruka happy.
"Ahem."
Oh. I turned to the Hokage and Kakashi.
"Yes, Lord Hokage?"
"Kakashi explained everything to me, now all I need is for the child to confirm this. You are dismissed, Iruka." the Hokage said.
I gasped, as did Iruka. I started panicking. I wanted Iruka to stay with me. For some reason I felt close to Iruka already, I felt safe with him. Placing me down, Iruka didn't even look at me. I frowned.
Iruka bowed his head, "Yes, Lord Hokage." He said quietly. He began walking out.
I ran up to Iruka grabbing his pants, "NO!" I yelled. "Don't leave! Please, don't make Iruka leave!"
The room fell silent. I felt all their eyes on me. I didn't like it, but I didn't want Iruka to leave.
"As you wish, Reina. Iruka you may stay." The Hokage said.
Iruka smiled and walked back to my side. I smiled up at him and then looked over at the Hokage.
"Now, I need you to confirm what Kakashi told me."
I hesitated before explaining everything from my view. And well, they were all shocked.

"I see... So it was true. Reina, would you like to stay here in the Village Hidden in the Leaves?"
I gasped. I was shocked. He would actually let me stay in his village?
"May I know your answer?"
"Yes, I'll stay. Thank you!"
