"Fae, what is the use of this badge?" Hany played with Fae badge of researcher.
"It contained information about many things that researcher had researched before. Researcher used it for reference and every time there is something new, the badge will inform you and the top researcher will conduct some experiment to ensure the information are correct," Fae answered. After learning about researcher for some time, she already had general knowledge about them. Because of that, despite being only a researcher yesterday, she had been quite familiar with the occupation.
Hany nodded. "Will you start to work or just stay at school?"
"I will just stay at school for now," answered Fae lazily. "Anyway, don't you have any task to do as the senior for those new squire?"
"Nah, I'm just someone from middle rank. Second Bro is the one who have the task at hand and currently busy."
"He will be promoted to cadet soon, right? How about you?"
Hany shrugged. "I don't really have that much of interest and although it would be lonely, I didn't want to stand on his path. I may not be as ambitious as him, but I will still support my family on their path."
"Your eldest brother?"
"He's in capital, I think he hadn't graduate from the top school, yet."
"He's a powerful magician, right?" Fae studied her memories. She had never met with their oldest brother. From what she remember, they had told her that he is a powerful magician and currently studying at the top academy in the capital.
"Right, I forgot his rank, but he's already quite high," Hany says proudly. "Do you have any task right now? If don't let's just watch Second Bro, I'm bored to death here."
"... I bet you would still pull me even if I were to say I do."
In the end Fae got dragged again by Hany who pulled her to the field. On the field, there are about 30-40 students standing in reverence towards 5 people at the front. As for the 5 people, they just stand impassively and mainly give some guidance. Among those 5 people, Harry stand there.
Hany look at the field with bored eyes. "Uh, those speech again. I truly hope that someone will hype the situation again."
Fae rolled her eyes. She may not present during Hany promotion, but she had already heard about that story. The girl beside her is truly bored during the speech that she sleep halfway then challenge the seniors, only to be beaten. In the end, she got punished by the teacher to stand in the hall but unfortunately, she fell asleep for the second time. It is truly a wonder how someone like her could be promoted to be a squire.
Without thinking much about it anymore, Fae turned her eyes to the group of new squire again and look at them casually. That swept of gaze of her caused her to be stunned for a moment and look at a certain individual. It seems like finally there's going to be something interesting here.
"Alright, time for battleground. Split into 10 groups."
Another 5 from the top 10 squire rank come at front and each of them took 3-4 new squire to do some combat. These new recruits usually are arrogant and it is the duties of these seniors to knack some sense back.
"And they will all lose badly," Hany grinned, remembering her own experience.
"That's not necessarily true," Fae said softly.
"Huh?" Hany look confused.
Fae smile slightly. "Just watch."
Although she said to watch, she herself didn't watch it as she laid back at her chair and close her eyes. That new recruit is indeed interesting, but those kind of people still cannot make her fully interested. She only got interested because he appear at this academy and not at the top of academy in the kingdom.
Hany watch attentively and suddenly her eyes widened in shock. One of the top 10 squire had lost a match against a new recruit which make the other top 10 to watch warily. The new squire stand there smiling mockingly, his youthful face are telling these people that he's still around 17-18 of age.
"What a skilled new squire, I wonder what his real power is," Harry said in amazement.
On the other hand Hany stared slack-jawed before laughing out loud. "What a fierce newcomer! Now I guess there's indeed some fun here."
"Who else?" The youth said half-mockingly.
The 9 student stare one at another and one of them walk forward before took the training sword out. He look at the youth and start to attack him without restraint. Unfortunately, that youth is truly nimble and he could evade and escape with ease. Even Harry and the others at the very top could feel the pressure from the youth.
"Just who is he?"
Clack!
"Who else?" the youth said impassively.
The top 10 continues to step forward, but not a single one of them could tame this one youth. Harry too, although he had employed his swordplay to the best, he couldn't beat this one single person and ended up defeated too. But because of that, his eyes is now burning with the desire to grow even stronger.
"It's a good lesson," commented Fae.
"Even Second Bro loss. I would never thought that a new squire could be this strong."
Fae stare at Hany. "He is indeed a new squire, but not at this school standard."
"Then, where?"
"The Imperial Young Elites."
Hany look at Fae then to the youth in disbelieve. It's not that she didn't trust Fae words, but it just sound so unbelievable. The Imperial Young Elites are the elites among elites, those are the people who had been handpicked since very young and have tremendous talent to be knight. The competitions are very harsh because only the true elite could be promoted.
Those are the elites among the elites for people under the knight. Hany had heard about them, but she never thought that she would encounter one of them by herself.
It was at that moment someone finally ask the question they had been wanting to ask for a while. "Who are you, really?"
"My name is Kira, I'm a new squire at the Imperial Young Elites."
New squire at the Imperial Young Elites? Many of the eyes of the squire there are growing so big because of the shock they had just receive. It's no wonder he could be so strong, the forces of the imperial training would be very harsh.
"Why are you here?"
"I got the mission to do somethings here for a while and looking at this event, I just tag along," Kira answered calmly.
"And beat us up..."
"That's your fault for being so weak. Do you think that with that kind of strength you could become a knight? It would take you years," mocked Kira.
Fae lips twitched. What an honest and foul mouth! What Kira said is actually true, with these top squire strength, they would be stuck at the cadet level for years before got the change to advance and become a true knight. However, with Kira ways of speaking, it is granted that those group of idiot would take it as provocation.
"What! Don't look down on us!"
"You arrogant!"
And many more cursed could be heard. Their strength didn't differ much from Kira and that make them unable to accept that they would certainly that poor. While it is true that Kira is a bit stronger than them, he is not that invincible. If all of them were to gang up against him, it is unknown who would actually lose.
Fae look at the expected scene before looking at Hany beside her. Inside the usual playful eyes of Hany now burn determined gaze even more than before. Kira appearance had caused her to feel the presure and hearing him state things that openly make her want to challenge that words.
"I will beat up that arrogant brat!"
'You guys are about the same age, you know' Fae didn't actually says those words, but she only smile slightly. At least, the appearance of Kira will make these lazy squire to be more motivated and train harder. But still...
'You better not compare yourself to him or you would be crying later," Fae thought in her mind. 'Comparing between a genius and a merely talented person will be torturing the weaker one here.'
"I will challenge you again," Harry declared after a short pause.
Kira stare back. "Sure, I will wait then."
Harry then nodded before going out from the field toward the 2 girls who had been waiting for him. Hany look in approval at him and raise up her thumbs up before taking Fae to go with them and accompanying them in training.
