~Elizabeth's Pov~

I was up at early morning, setting up the tavern myself and I husband owned. I was humming as checking stock and glasses at the bar side. "Celler stock is alright Elizabeth" I heard Hawk's high voice. I turned my head to see the pink boar walking over to me. Hawk was a young boar who had the ability to speak human tongue. Hawk had been mine and my husband's friend for the last five or so years. I thanked him before heading to the kitchen to see my own reflection through the silverware.

My long silver hair that went to my mid back was brushed neat as I had some hair on my forehead. My baby blue eyes wondering around the room as I was soon checking the dishes, silverware, cookware and then the food stock. My husband and I were once in wars, fighting all the time to protect others. We used to talk about owning a tavern so when we finally retired from fighting, we made it. The Boar Hat. A strange name but one that meant something to us.

I was wearing a dark maroon tie over a white collared sleeveless dress that exposed my back, along with black leggings and lastly black dolly shoes that had a white bow on top. It was the middle of Spring. As I finished checking the stock and writing down what was needed to be ordered I headed back to the main bar area. Hawk was making sure the chairs and tables were in the right place as I placed the list down before stretching. "Meliodas should be up soon, the damn bastard is always sleeping in lately" Hawk spoke annoyed.

I only laughed slightly as I felt two hands go around my waist, pulling me back into someone's chest. I smiled turning my head to see my husband smiling at me. His emerald green eyes were on me as I moved my hand into his messy bright blonde hair. He was wearing his normal ordinary, clean white button-front shirt and a black sleeveless vest on top with a loosely worn tie. He had his sword Lostvayne in a scabbard what was held on by a green leather belt with gold-coloured buckles. With no socks, he was wearing his simple black boots.

"Morning" I spoke as he kissed my forehead, smiling even more. He replied with 'morning' as a whisper in my ear as I couldn't help but enjoy his breath on my ear. My face warmed up slightly as I turned around in his arms, planting a quick kiss on his lips. "Tease" he mumbled moving his face close to mine as I only let out a small giggle. Today felt like any other day. It was only two years ago Meliodas came back to be by my side for good. We were once cursed long ago causing the two of us to hide from the Goddess and Demon Clans.

Meliodas would stay with me for a year but soon normally leave to try and find a cure for us. He was able to cure many parts of our curse. We were just immortal now. It used to be a lot worse. I couldn't help but feel a lot happier knowing he didn't plan to leave my side again. I ended up putting my hands on Meliodas's chest as Hawk was yelling at us to 'get a room' as he always put it. It was just another day but we both knew sooner or later we would've had to move again. The Goddess and Demon Clan were still looking for me.

They believed Meliodas was gone for good or trapped forever in purgatory. They knew I was out there somewhere. They believed it was real meaning they believed sooner or later I would come to avenge Meliodas or bring him back, just as I would've done if it was true. "We should start thinking about where to move the tavern next you know" I soon spoke as Meliodas sighed nodding in agreement. Hawk and I had been here in this town for the past five years. The longest I had ever been in a town but I knew if I was found...everyone here would get hurt.

They would've been hurt or killed because of me. "While we are near the Kingdom Camelot we should be pretty clear from being found for at least another year or so" Meliodas then spoke in thought as I giggled slightly. He was hopeful as always. Meliodas snuggled his face into mine causing my smile to grow. He soon noticed the list on the side. "Need some stock huh?" He asked pulling his head back causing me to nod. He kissed my forehead again before freeing me. He soon let out a small sigh.

"I promised the guys to teach them some sword tricks at the barracks, want me to pick it all up on the way home?" Meliodas soon asked as I shook my head. I informed him that I was going shopping instead causing him to nod this time around. Hawk was saying he would be by my side while we were around town. Meliodas always felt better when I was with people he could trust fully though it was Meliodas's fifth time at the barracks this week. I knew he missed the action of fighting alongside others, it caused a small thought in the back of my head.

One I wasn't able to push away. That I was holding him back. "What time will you be home?" I asked with a smile as he started thinking. I moved grabbing the list as Hawk reminded me I left my shopping basket on the kitchen side. "I should be home before lunch or just after so not going to be out long" Meliodas soon informed me as I headed into the kitchen. I was struggling to hold my smile in a way. The thought at the back of my mind was screaming at me. I didn't want to hold him back from the things he loves doing.

I didn't want to be the thing to hold him back at all. "Elizabeth?" I heard Meliodas ask confused as I grabbed the basket, walking back to the main room my smile somehow still standing. "Alright, I will make sure to get things for lunch too" I then spoke as he put a hand on my cheek, giving me a quick kiss. My smile became more real as I bit my bottom lip. "No getting in trouble" he whispered before leaving as I placed the basket on the bar side then the list on top of it. Once I heard the door open and close, I finally lost my smile.

"Elizabeth?" Hawk asked worriedly walking over to me as I leaned on the bar, crossing my arms as I stared at the ceiling. I took a deep breath. "Hawk, do you think I'm holding him back?" I asked as Hawk had gasped in shock in reply. He was shouting that I was 'crazy' to think like that. He reminded me on how happy Meliodas was when he finally returned for good. I only closed my eyes hoping he was right. "What has you thinking all of a sudden Elizabeth?" Hawk soon asked as I sighed with a fake laugh afterwards.

"It's stupid but I know he misses the battleground, that happens when your lived multiple lives in it" I then answered taking a deep breath, opening my eyes looking toward Hawk with a smile. He was looking at me worried. He and Meliodas both cared for me deeply after all. "With him going to the barracks more, I have just been wondering if he is holding back from his life in Liones for me. I knew he had friends there, that he had fun and was happy there" I then added to explain as Hawk sighed.

"You two both worry about each other and how you affected each other way too much ya know" he spoke making me laugh agreeing alongside him. I couldn't help but do that with Meliodas. He was someone I was willing to do anything for. He was the person I loved and the person who always made me smile just by being nearby. It was stupid but that was how my heart and brain worked. I picked up the list and my basket before me and Hawk left our tavern and into the town next to us.

Meliodas and I moved here five years ago and within a year I ended up becoming the mayor of this town. It was different but they made me the mayor due to the fact I was able to push back both Demon and Human raiders/bandits. While walking around town I had many people saying hello to both myself and Hawk. I noticed long ago that Hawk enjoyed the attention from everyone in town. "What's first on the list?" Hawk soon asked as I looked at it. There were many things on here and I had forgotten to put them in order.

"Cheese and red wine" I answered as Hawk nodded as we headed into the first store. My days were normally pretty short and normal like this. After a couple of hours of shopping, the basket was full. Hawk and I had a detour as we went to the lake in the woods nearby. It was bandit season and normally coming into the woods were banned but I was able to take care of myself. I didn't fight in wars and not learn anything after all. I sat next to the lake, looking into it. My mind on that annoying thought at the back of my head.

My smile from the morning had gone as I was unsure on how long I was sitting there, just in thought. Hawk had fallen asleep nearby looking after the basket. I closed my eyes hugging myself. I knew I shouldn't think that way. I knew I should've talked to Meliodas about this sooner. I wasn't sure what his reaction would be. I was worried this thought was real and true. The idea that I was holding him back hurt my heart more than anything.

I knew I had to be stronger than this. Meliodas alone has suffered far more than me with this curse. There was one difference between our curses. Due to the fact, the Surprime Deity herself cursed me while the Demon King cursed Meliodas. If killed, Meliodas would just get into a coma for awhile, letting him speak to his father while his body slowly healed then wake up. Sadly with my curse, I was killed. Once I was killed my body gave up and I was reincarnated with all memories of my past lives and feelings.

Meliodas had to watch me die many times in front of him or in his arms. He had suffered because of me. All I ever wanted was to support and be there for him. Soon I felt two arms wrap around me as my eyes shot open, my head turning to see Meliodas looking at me worried. "I knew something was bugging you this morning..." he whispered as I noticed the sun was a lot more down than before. I forgot I was meant to be back home before him. My mind was too deep in those thoughts. Meliodas was sitting behind me, pulling me close to him.

"What's wrong Elizabeth?" he asked in a whisper as I looked away from him, toward the ground. I heard Meliodas sigh as he hugged me tighter. "Am...am I holding you back?" I asked as I felt him freeze up. I was just able to feel his gaze on me. I felt one of his hands moved and placed on my cheek, gently moving my head to make me look at Meliodas. A smile on his face. "Not in the slightest, you're the reason I keep on going and keep fighting. Your the reason I haven't gone insane and evil like my father wanted when he placed this curse on me. Your everything to me...Elizabeth" he soon answered.

My eyes widen slightly as I smiled brightly at him. The worry on his face vanished as he answered, I knew he was telling the truth. Meliodas moved his head toward mine as mine moved toward his. Our eyes closing as we did so. Our lips soon clashing not long afterwards. My hands going on Meliodas's chest. I turned my body around as I moved my hands while Meliodas pulled me even closer to him while deepening the kiss. We had to pull away when needing air but it only gave it two or three seconds before going back into another kiss.
