“A Painful Blue”
The sky was an angry shade of blue,
Painted as if it were a portrait of perfection
By a painter so calm and peaceful,
Who judges all with pure intention.
It reminded me of the days,
When Day was turning light;
Erasing all the burden,
Before the end meets Night.
It rushes back memories of the forgotten
Lying relentlessly at the back of my mind;
Enticing me with broken thoughts,
That now have answers to find…
The night was still young,
For the sun has just come down;
The wind was getting chilly,
But it made no sound.
The answers were still invisible;
“The lies around me couldn’t be true;”
That’s what I thought while I stood by the window,
Staring at a painful blue.
