Chapter Nine
"He's your cousin?"
"Yeah..his father is my mother's brother?"
"Damn, the whole fam's here, huh?"
Alexander and Jayson tilt their heads as they looked at me clueless.
"Fam?"
I snort to myself as I look up. "Sorry..nevermind."
Jayson smiles and offers his hand.
"Cassandra....would you like to dance?"
My eyes widen and I look over at Alexander and smile.
"Sure."
I chug my champagne down and I stand up from my seat.
"Let's go."
I give him my hand and he takes it. As he takes my hand, he bends down and kisses it.
"Oh my.."
As he looks up my cheeks start to warm up.
I roll my eyes over at Alex and he looks at us in envy...it was quite hilarious. I wink at Alexander as I walk away.
Jayson leads me to the dance floor and he turns me around and pulls me closer to his body and rests his hands on my hips.
We dance to the soft jazz music behind us. I move my left foot and then my right foot. Left foot, right foot. Left foot, right foot.
I try to not mess up anything and I feel Jayson smiling as he looks down at me.
He was staggering tall compared to me. I look into his eyes as they are a beautiful hazel combination and they were perfect match with his light olive skin. He turns me around and I come back to him in awe.
"Hey, I have a boyfriend, you know."
"Of course someone beautiful as you is taken."
I roll my eyes and I continue to move my feet in a unison pattern.
I look down at my feet and I concentrate on getting this dance right and not messing anything else.
"Wow, you're a smooth dancer."
"I'm just not trying to mess up."
I look up as he smiles showing perky, pearly whites.
"Oh my god." I whisper
He was handsome...no scratch that he was fine! I don't know about me and my white boys but since all the black ones in my school ignored and tortured me..I guess they're my type.
I look around to see intimate couples twirling with themselves and looking rather romantic.
I smile to myself as I turn my head looking the other way.
I see Alex standing near the bar watching Jayson and I. He soon sees me staring at him. He lightly nods his head as he winks at me. He chugs down a brown liquid in a tiny glass. He plops it down as he turns back at us to stare blankly at me.
"Eww."
"What?"
I look up to see Jayson looking down at me as we swayed.
"Oh nothing."
He ignores what I say and It seems like he follows my eyes to see Alexander watching.
"I guess we have a fan."
I away as he taps my right shoulder lightly.
"Get ready."
"Huh?"
Jayson brings my hand up towards the ceiling and twirls me around once or twice and steps back and releases me. I get lost during the twirl and I just see a swirled vison. I close my eyes as I finish my twirl around and luckily I land on my two feet.
I open my eyes to see eyes planted on me.
I take a breath as I look straight at Jayson smiling and clapping.
After Jayson claps, a whole lot more people clap. I smile before everyone feeling odd before the crowd and Jayson comes towards me.
"Awesome."
I nod and I look up to see Alexander coming behind him.
"Quite a performance."
He turns around and comes near me. Jayson gives Alexander a look as he came closer.
"Yeah?"
The music plays again and everyone turns back to themselves and dance again.
"May the host get a dance?"
I look down at Alex's hand before me and I just laugh at it.
"Uh No."
I smile bluntly as I brush past Alexander.
I walk towards the table, sitting down. I check my purse, check on my phone.
I looks at the screen as my phone's screen blared with a message on its bright screen.

Oh..I'm having a good time alright.
I look up to see Jayson come up to me.
"Damn girl."
He grabs the seat next to me and sits upon it.
I chuckle lightly as I looked up at him.
"No one says no to Alexander Caldwell." he adds
"Well, I just did."
I look around but I feel Jayson's eyes on me. I look back at him and I smile nervously.
"What?"
"You..you're different. Nobody like you come to these boring shindigs."
"Well, I really just came here for my job, really."
"Oh? What's your occupation?"
"I'm your arrognant cousin's assistant."
He nods slowly, "Oh."
I extend my head back positioning my hand on my hip.
"Oh what?"
"That's why you're so different."
"Why am I so different?"
I look at Jayson suspiciously as I squint my eyes.
"You aren't like these stuck up girls in here..Just a regular girl."
He smiles widely as he licked his lips.
"Boy please..I think those stuck girls are pretty regular too."
"I know but do you know who I am?"
"Umm Jayson?"
"No, See I'm a fam-"
"Come!"
I turn my head around to be soon yanked from my chair by my wrist.
"Uh excuse you!"
I lower my eyebrow as I try to pull from Alex's tough grip around my wrist.
"Alex..what are you doi-"
"Shut up Jay."
I continue to attempt to let go from his tight grip but he drags me across the hall.
I turn around and I look back at Jayson looking at me concerned.
"Help."
Alex exits the hall and pins me against a wall.
"You idiot! There's cameras!! They're going to record this and put this online."
He leans in towards me and smiles.
"I don't care."
"What?"
He looks around and then looks back at me with his reddened eyes.
"I..I..don't know." he stutters
His breath rickened with an alcohol stench.
I purse my lips as I plug my nose canals.
"Well you need to figure it out." said my nasally voice
He chuckles as he grabs my waist. I widen my eyes as I try to push him off.
"Uh Excuse.."
He roams his hands around as he caressed my waist. He looks down at me as he grabs a hold of my bottom.
"Don't act like you weren't dreaming of this moment."
"Please..don't get ahead of yourself."
I roll my eyes as I push him off. I start to walk away but he grabs my hand once again.
"Oh my God! Get off me.."
"Cass-"
"Alex! Earlier today you called me dumb and you just hired me for my looks...the looks you dispised of."
"I was bluffing...Until I saw you today I knew the real truth."
He leans in and I slap Alexander across the face.
"You're fucking with me right?"
I roll my eyes and I try to walks away.
"No more ignoring..."
I try to pull from his grip but he was so strong, I couldn't.
I close my eyes as he presses against me. I think to myself but then I loosen from his tight grip.
I open my eyes to see Alexander on the ground, groaning. I look up to see Jayson panting on the side. I widen my eyes as he walks over to me.
"I saw the whole thing..Come on."
Jayson offers me his hand and I take it leaving Alex on the ground.
"My mind was..blank."
"It's okay."
We run out of the hall and we don't even bother going back into the dining hall.
We go outside as I stay in my place.
"My purse?"
"Don't worry..I got it."
I look at him oddly and I take my purse. I look up from the ground and I look up at the dark night sky.
"Dang, what time is it?"
"11."
"Oh my god."
He takes his suit jaket off and puts it on my shoudlers.
"Oh no.."
"It's okay."
We continue to walk down the street and the valet comes in front of us in a bright red mustang.
"Wow."
"Mr. Hunter?" says the valet guy
"Thanks."
"You need a ride..come on."
I look at him in awe.
"Come on." he pleads
I shrug as I walk towards the car.
Jayson opens the door and I climb inside the car. Jayson walks around the car and climbs inside. Jayson wakes up the engine and drives off the entrance of the party.
Jayson says bye to the security man and drives off from the estate.
The car ride was quiet and very awkward as I looked out the window.
"Alright..where you live?"
"Just drop me off at my boyfriend's house."
"Alright, Bae's house, which is?"
"718 Josephine Ave."
He nods as he continued to drive.

We soon arrive at Jake's house and I leap out of his car.
I run up the stairs and Jayson helps me to the door.
"Thanks for eavesdropping"
"Said no one ever.."
I roll my eyes as I lightly chuckle.
"..But seriously though."
"No problem. My cousin is an asshole."
"Oh but when were you were going to tell me?"
"Oh yeah..I forgot."
I smile widely as I chuckle.
"Cassandra..I'm actually quite similar to those stuck up ladies, I wasn't talking about."
I lower my eyebrows, "Who are you?"
"See I'm-"
Jake's house lights flash on and his door opens. Jake looks outside and sees us both at his door. He looks at Jayson and his eyes open wide.
"Oh my god. Oh my god!"
"Jake what?"
"Jayson Hunter is at my door! Jayson Hunter is at my freaking door."
I look at Jayson with a cocked eyebrow and I look at Jayson as his face reddens.
I shake my head as I look at him.
"Who are you?"
"I'm-"
"Jayson Hunter! Number One forward for the Chicago Bulls!!!"
I look at Jayson as he shrugs his shoulders.
"I'm not normal."
"Really?"
I step into Jake's house and I kiss him on cheek.
"I've missed you."
I look at Jayson and he smiles to himself.
"Thanks for the ride."
"No problem. Good Night."
"Good Night. Good Night Jake."
Jake smiles widely, "Good Night!"
I close the door in front of Jake and Jayson and I roll my eyes.
"Oh come on.."
"Whatever Jake."
He smiles in shock but then looks over at me.
"His Jacket..Jayson Hunter's suit jacket is on your shoudlers."
"Calm..down."
I open the door to see Jayson strolling to his car.
"Jay!"
He turns around and smiles at me.
I leap outside taking off his jacket and I hands it to him.
"Here you go. Thanks again."
He takes it from my hands as he smiled.
"Sure thing."
"Umm...now you some celebrity that my boyfriend is all worked up about."
"I like your boyfriend. We both like the same things..."
I scoff, "Thanks again."
"You'll keep in contact?"
"Sure but I don't have your number?"
He walks around to the driver seat and smiles.
"It's okay. I plugged it in your phone."
He gives one last wink and climbs back inside his car.
I go back inside the house and I go back to see Jake pacing back in fourth.
I close the door and I put my purse down on his couch.
"You're friends with..Jayson Hunter. You're associated with Jayson Hunter."
"It was only one day...he's going to forget about me in a second."
"Who can forget you?"
He comes up to me and pecks me on the lips. I blink my eyes as I look up at him.
"Did you have fun?"
"Sure..you can say that."
I let go from his embrace and I walk over to his room. I feel a vibration in my purse and I look around puzzled.
I slide to unlock and I see an unknown number has text me.
