Midnight Blues track starts at 3:06, now sit back and relax with this bop playing at the back :)

"I want to show you something."

Minah squinted her eyes and her jaws tightened as she studied his face. She didn't know what to think about his words. It sounded a little too foreboding for her liking especially since she was in his house, in the middle of the forest.

He stood up from the sofa and began to walk away from the room. She followed a few steps behind.

"What is it?"

Namjoon looked back at her as he still walked and gave a slight smile. That was all. Not even a reply.

Right. That is it for my life. He is going to take me into some room and kill me off. He probably secretly works for Blue and was being undercover this whole time.

Minah shook her head to tell herself she was wrong. She couldn't possibly have wasted all these many months to find him for help only for him to end up on her enemy's side. That was too fantastical. Something that would happen in movies instead. Minah's life was no movie, it was simply an unfortunate gift she did not want.

"It's nothing for you to be worried about, in fact I think you are going to love it." He must have somehow sensed her discomfort.

It was a fight or flight situation. A huge part of her wanted to run away, she had the speed and stamina to do so. But he had a car parked outside and more knowledge on their surrounding than her. Plus if it did come down to him attempting to kill her, she was very certain she would put up a challenging fight before her eventual murder.

Minah slightly lowered her back and felt for the small knife in the pocket of her cargo trousers. Feeling its presence brought great comfort for her anytime she was feeling anxious in the same way another person might fiddle with their hair or bite their lips.

As they walked down the hallway that automatically lit up one at a time, Minah dropped clues. She was fully aware of the police's tendencies to lack competence after her prison sentence despite her innocence. She was going to make it as easy as possible for them to trace her identity in the house in case Namjoon was planning on killing her. She touched the walls as she passed, the edges of picture frames and a small cabinet with an empty vase propped on top; making sure her fingerprints would easily be detected to the police. As well as that, she frequently combed her fingers through her hair, allowing a few strands of her DNA to grace the marble flooring.

At the end of the hallway, she found something unexpected. With one flick of what looked like a light switch, the wall in front of them separated. It was a lift. The sight before her eyes was something straight out of a futuristic movie; Minah stared at it with wonder, struggling not to part her lips with shock. She had to keep her composure.

Namjoon went inside and turned around to face her.

"I really think what I'm about to surprise you with will excite you more than us standing here, staring at each other."

Minah clenched and unclenched her fists. Many thoughts raced through her mind. Should she enter an enclosed space with no escape route trapped next to the most prolific assassian in the country, or just go home? But of course, Minah's life was filled with bad choices and the choice she made was simply another one to add to her growing collection.

Although in her mind, her justification for stepping into the lift was that; she had been putting months trying to find Namjoon. All that time she could have been looking for Blue but even if she found him, she knew he could destroy her. He'd been a mobster for more than twenty years. Whilst he had an army of loyal gang members, all Minah had was a bit of strength from the last few years and too much built up anger against Blue. If her feelings got the best of her during her confrontation with him, it would either be highly beneficial or life-threatening and that was too much of a gamble. Namjoon not only was going to be the excellent partner-in-crime but a mediator between her emotions and reality.

The lift went down and down, endlessly. Eventually it came to a creaking halt and it made a happy 'ping' as if they were in some luxurious hotel. When the doors opened, the view was far from it.

First of all, it was hard to see. The lighting was like a theatre hall, dark but well lit in some areas. She couldn't tell if it was an artful choice or just really shitty lighting. She decided on the latter after seeing some lights flicker, struggling to stay on.

Their footsteps collided against the dark navy concrete, the gentle but firm sounds echoed against the walls made from the same material. The room was filled with all sorts of torture devices that would make a serial killer's heart sing.

Cold air trickled up beneath her long sleeves, licking her skin. She shivered, rubbing her arms to generate warmth. Namjoon standing besids her seemed totally fine; which confused her further. She couldn't tell if the room was freezing or if she was nervous due to the foreboding ambience that hung in the air.

"Welcome to my training centre!" he exclaimed, walking backwards whilst facing her with his arms spread wide open.

Or your torture chamber where I will be one of your many victims.

A large childish smile was plastered across his face as if he was a young boy introducing his fort made out of chairs and blankets. Except this was no innocent child playroom.

"Dont be shy, Minah. Have a look around your new gym. Better than the one we used to go to."

She couldn't deny the fact that it was true. This place he created was a great improvement from her local gym.

As she walked further into the room, the silhouettes standing in the shadows became clearer. They were mannequins covered in dents and punctures where they'd sustained punches and stabbings from Namjoon. Thick ropes dangled from the ceiling and Minah's heart began to pace. Simply seeing it excited her. Climbing was one of her greatest strengths.

"This is very nice of you to share this space with me."

He shrugged, rocking from heel to toe, clearly uncomfortable with her rare compliment.

"Well, it made sense to do so. If we want to be succesful with your mission you need to be on the same level as myself."

She scoffed, it was arrogant of him but there was no lie in what he'd said.

He then took her back upstairs, much to her relief as it was warmer. He showed her his computer office, which was filled with black screens propped against the wall and four more desktops gracing a horshoe shaped desk. It was a place he used to hack into any digital softwares, whether it be somebody's private email or CCTV camera. Minah dumbfoundedly nodded her head as if she could understand his technical jargon.

"You do know that I am ten years behind on technological advances. There is practically no point in you teaching me these things."

He laughed. She drew her eyebrows close to each other, frowning at him.

"That wasn't a joke," she confirmed, which only made him laugh louder.

"I know but that was adora-"

"Disgusting," she spat out before he could finish his sentence, "Don't ever use that condescending word to describe me no matter how true it might be."

Namjoon raised his brows.

For the next two weeks, Minah used every oppurtunity she could garner to train in the basement training room. Mostly in the daytime, as her nights were made busy by working as a bartender, a job she despised but it paid the bills.

Namjoon also gave couple more attempts to train her with the computers. But his motivation to assist her deterioated alongside her understanding of what he was trying to teach her.

"Well I guess I will be doing all of the technical aspects of this mission," he sighed.

"In the time it takes for me to hack into someone else's device, we could probably find Blue, kill him and live lavishly using his wealth."

"But I thought you used to do engineering in university? I was mistaken in thinking you could pick up the skills quickly."

Minah bit her lower lip and looked down at her bruised calloused hands. She knew if she just put in the bare minimum effort, she could easily understand the foreign technologies before her eyes. But her stubbornness with wanting to forget her past life before prison overpowered her mind into not wanting to learn.

She was a new person now. Not the smart sensible girl who fell into a downfall created by her shit luck but the vengeful woman who only wished to paint her hands with the blood of her enemy.

"Alright," he said, clapping his hands and leaning forwards towards the desk. "I have something to show you."

He brought the keyboard and mouse closer to him as he clicked about on the computer.

"What is it?" she asked, curiously eyeing the desktop screen; she was only met with silence causing her to roll her eyes. "You love to give surprises, don't you?"

"I like to be unpredictable," he said with a wink.

Minah scoffed.

"Okay, so do you remember two days when I asked you if Min Yoongi ever mentioned any names that may help us get a lead on Blue?"

She gulped at the sound of Yoongi's name come out of Namjoon's lips. It felt weird, as if his name was something so sacred it shouldn't be spoken, especially not from someone like Namjoon.

He noticed her stone cold expression and it took him a few more seconds to realise why that was.

Namjoon continued to talk after guessing she wasn't going to say anything, "Well because I am such a genius and amazing at researching, I found someone."

Minah shot her eyes up to him. "How are they related to Blue? Can we find and talk to them?"

"Let me show you," he laughed. Minah stared at him, wide-eyed with not a glimmer of humour or playfulness on her face.

On the screen came up a blurry video of a reception for what was probably an office. The automatic doors opened and in came a navy suited man in dark sunglasses followed by two other men dressed in a similar fashion. The man took off his glasses and headed straight for the desk. Namjoon clicked a button and the camera switched to one that directly faced the man resting his arm on the reception desk.

He continued, "His name is Kim Seokjin-"

Minah's brows drew closer before beginning to slowly rise like lava bubbling up an active volcano. In fact, she felt as if one was exploding in her mind.

"I recognise that name! Yoongi mentioned him quite a lot... His close friend from the gang."

Namjoon nodded his head. "Former member of Blue's gang now a successful businessman, President of the famous cosmetics enterprise, Jula. He married the daughter of the business' Chairman which is how he managed to reach that position despite his family's mediocre background."

When Namjoon shifted his eyes to look at her, Minah's jaw was hung open.

"You found out all of that in this room?"

He nodded.

"How?"

Namjoon laughed, "If you listened to what I have been trying to teach you then maybe you would understand too!"

"Now the next step is to find Kim Seokjin and get some information out of him?"

"You need to clear your schedule for the next two days because we will be going on a little road-trip to visit our friend," he said, pointing to Seokjin's paused image on the screen.

Minah let out a heavy breath, she didn't expect progression to happen so quickly. Her heart began to race as the adrenaline fuelled by her excitement that they were closer to finding Blue began to increase.
