▪️Third Person Point of View▪️

The rhythmic creaking of the wooden rocking chair ricocheted off the walls of the vast dark quiet home. It's rhythmic sways and the occasional stifled sob were the only sounds audible that evening. The house was no longer filled with the sounds of laughter, or noisy chatter, or the rattle of kitchen appliances as dinner was being prepared.

The house now stood feeling hollow and deserted of its previous warmth filled atmosphere.

Ji Su once again found herself alone siting besides Jinie's crib, idly swaying herself on the rocking chair, contemplating her life decisions. Tears trickled down her cheeks as her mind was finally allowed to wander back to her greatest burden, which she had tried to bury away. Only one thing occupied her mind ...

Her test results from her visit to the hospital earlier that week.

She had already let another week go by.

A week less.

A week closer.

Everyone was still oblivious to her current state, and she knew she couldn't hide her condition from them much longer. The symptoms would become more obvious and noticeable as time passed. She had to break the news to everyone, but she herself had not fully processed it. She needed to be mentally prepared and be emotionally stable before she disclosed her newfound condition to her loved ones.

She knew they would all worry and want to be there for her more after they found out.

She had to be mindful of how she broke the news to them to prevent it from affecting them more than it should. There was nothing else she could do, but accept her condition and continue living alongside her only daughter and husband, for as long as that was.

So, she sat at home on the rocking chair lightly crying as she amorously rubbed her belly.

She was now a couple weeks into her second pregnancy.

A billion thoughts ran through her head as she sat there rocking her new baby in her belly, as Jinie slept soundly in her crib. She smiled fondly in between tears as held one of Jinie's tiny hands in one hand, and slowly rubbed her belly with the other.

Although she was beyond overjoyed to find out she was carrying Jin's second child, she couldn't help but have her happiness diminished by the worry that was consuming her thoughts.

It's not that she doesn't want to have another child, but she doesn't want it to happen like this. Not again. She didn't feel ready to take on another child while she was barely able to care for one. She was happy she was carrying Jinie's sibling, but she was scared. She was barely able to manage to keep up with Jinie and her job, how would she manage two small children on her own?

What worried her the most was how she would break the news to Jin.

When she had announced her first pregnancy, she had found herself hospitalized and almost lost her baby. Her first pregnancy had not been easy, and the idea that her experience may repeat itself scared her. She couldn't help but allow her past to continue to haunt her.

She knew Jin had changed, but that frightening day he almost caused her to lose their child still plagues her memories, especially now that she has another little angel on the way.

Jin and Ji Su hadn't even talked about having another child after they had Jinie. In fact, they had barely even crossed words for the past couple of months until recently.

How could they welcome a baby, when their married life was still deteriorating?

Although Jin appeared to be trying, Ji Su felt like he was not being genuine or at least not trying as much as he did before. She felt he was trying to hide something from her. She knew everything was not ok between them, but she couldn't bring herself to confront him.

How long could they go on pretending that their relationship was doing fine?

How could they welcome another child like this?

Would the past repeat itself?

Would Jin never be there for their children?

Jin was not the only person she was worried about.

Jin was always unavailable to help her with Jinie. She had to rely on her parents and friends for help with Jinie. How would they react when she informed them that she had another bun in the oven? They were already going out of their way to help her with Jinie, how could she ask them for more? How would she be able to take over her dad's business now?

How would she care for two little children without her husband's help?

Jin promised that after he completed the drama he was currently working on, he would stop taking on extra projects and make more time for them. However, Ji Su knew all too well that this was just the beginning of his acting career. After this would come more acting deals, more concerts, more tours, more time away. BTS's popularity was finally souring, and she was beyond ecstatic that they were finally getting the recognition and attention they deserved, but that meant that Jin could not be at home with them.

She never really thought she would have to raise their children on her own without her husband at her side, as they both learn how to be good parents.

Having another baby at this moment of turmoil in her life was just unexpected.

She loved the small one growing in her belly, and wanted to be able to welcome the baby to a full and loving home. She didn't want Jin to miss out on their child's growth once again like he did with their Jinie.

She wanted to continue to be home and personally watch over their children, but now with another little angel at home, she didn't know how she could continue to work and be a good mother. She knew she could hire help, but she didn't want her children to grow up alone without their parents like she did.

Jin was also their parent, but it was all up to her to actually be there for their kids. She resented Jin for this reason.

She too had a lot on her plate like Jin.

Her father had just informed her he wanted to retire and leave the business to Ji Su. Mr. Kim was just waiting for Jinie to grow a little more independent of his daughter so Ji Su could take over the hospitals. Mr. Kim was currently training Ji Su on how to run their business, and was happy to see Ji Su trying so hard to juggle work and her little one.

The Kim's, Ji Su's parents, tried helping Ji Su in whatever form they could with Jinie. They took her and watched her while Ji Su did her rounds at the hospital, and would sometimes take her on evenings so Ji Su could sleep and recharge her strength. They knew Ji Su was struggling to parent Jinie on her own, and thus silently resented Jin for not trying to help her out. They knew Jin was a busy man, but so was their daughter. Ji Su's work was just as important as Jin's. Jin never volunteered to watch Jinie or take her in to work to give Ji Su a break. Everyone knew he was busy, but they wanted him to try better to make time for his family.

Her parents and friends all felt sorry and heartbroken as they watched Ji Su try to be present for her daughter and also not neglect her work.

Ji Su tried not to allow herself to be affected by her current situation with Jin and smiled upon her new little blessing. Ji Su had resolved to just be strong and continue to fight for her children, alone.

She didn't need Jin to be there all the time, she could shower her kids with love all on her own. All she needed to be happy was to know that her children were well looked after and growing loved, at least by her.

As she sat there holding her two beautiful treasures she tried assuring herself everything would fall into place. As she consoled herself, she fell asleep on the rocking chair like many other countless nights.

▪️🥀▪️

The morning soon arrived as it inevitably does every day.

Ji Su stretched and warmed her sleepy limbs. Still in a sleepy state, she quickly sat up and noticed she had unexpectedly woken up in her bed. She bats her heavy eyelids open and peeks around the room in search for her handsome culprit responsible for having moved her. This had happened to her one too many times, Jin always reprimanded her for falling asleep on that uncomfortable chair, but she couldn't help but to continue to do so.

Her eyes quickly landed on the static figure that sat in her rocking chair besides the crib.

A small lazy smile sprang onto her lips as she sluggishly moved towards her sleeping beloved. He sat there wearing a dark oversized hoodie that concealed his features from her, with only steady breathing noises emanating from him. Although she still felt a bit taken aback by his behavior, she couldn't help but be lured in by his mere presence time after time.

With groggy eyes, she toddled over to the hooded figure that rested besides her sleeping Jinie. She slyly moved behind him and securely wrapped her arms around him bringing them into a snug back hug. She eagerly rested her head on his shoulders causing him to instantly jolt awake and freeze under her touch. She too instantaneously felt taken aback.

Those were not the vast prominent shoulders of her husband.

The immobile man she held in her arms embrace was not Jin.

After a moment of mutual surprise, Ji Su immediately pulled her hands away from his body and moved to awkwardly stand in front of her visitor concealed under the hoodie.

The tranquil sleeping hooded man had been startled awake upon feeling Ji Su's embrace. He froze as he felt the warmth of Ji Su's body stick to his own. He didn't need to look at who was hugging, he instantaneously recognized Ji Su's small soft hands that hugged his torso. He sat there immobilized on the chair not knowing what to do or how to react. He was flooded with a pulverizing amount of conflicting emotions.

"S... sorry, I didn't know it was you ..." Ji Su managed to whisper out as she sneaked small glances at him, feeling completely and utterly embarrassed. She hastily tried fixing her messy appearance.

Yoongi adjusted himself on the chair and lifted his face to look at the beautifully disheveled self-conscious Ji Su that now stood before him. A glimmer of blush visible on his cheeks as he sat there with his smiling eyes open observing Ji Su.

"It's ok it's partly my fault." Yoongi apologized as he stood up.

"I just stopped by to pick up Jinie to take her to Mina, since its her turn to watch Jinie while you work. I knocked on the door a couple of times and you didn't open. I found this odd, considering you are always up bright and early on work days, so I asked Mina for your house's code and entered. Sorry if that made you feel uncomfortable, I just found it weird that you hadn't opened the door. I was worried something had happened to ... Jinie, so I asked Mina for help getting in. I found you both sleeping here, so I moved you to your bed and sat here watching Jinie and ended up falling asleep." He finished explaining as he nervously rubbed the back of his head.

"Oh, I see ... I actually forgot to tell Mina that I wasn't going in to work this week. I'm trying to get more rest since you both kept nagging me about looking like a walking zombie...Thanks for coming anyways and worrying about us my Yoongi Bear, you always pretend not to care but you really are soft when it comes to Jinie." She teased as the awkwardness between them trickled away.

Indeed, Yoongi had dropped by early that morning to take Jinie over to Mina's house, since he knew Ji Su had to work today. He had knocked on the door a number of times, but not a soul could be seen or heard within the house. This made him feel uneasy. She was usually up by that time on the days she worked. In a moment of fear, he called Mina and asked for the house's passcode which she readily disclosed to him.

He knew Jin was not at home, so he worried someone may have hurt Ji Su or that something could have happened to them since they had been home alone and unprotected that night.

He hastily entered the house and instinctively ran straight to her bedroom. Much to his relief, he found a sleeping Ji Su and a fidgeting Jinie safely resting within the room. After calming his heart and letting Mina know Ji Su had just not woken up yet, he silently walked over to them and watched Ji Su, who uncomfortably slept on that chair, with sad and tender eyes. He knew that if Ji Su fell asleep on the rocking chair, it meant something was tormenting her. She had told him a number of times that that chair was like her second bed that chased away bad dreams and thoughts.

He also knew why Ji Su was looking so down and torn as of late. It was all Jin's fault. Yoongi had wanted to confront Jin about the way he was letting his family slip away, but he also didn't want this to hurt Ji Su more. He knew that if Ji Su found out what was really going on with Jin, she would find reason to place all the blame on herself. He didn't want to see that happen, so he was determined to try and keep it from her as long as he possibly could.

Jin had seemingly distanced himself from his issue, and had returned to his family, therefore Yoongi felt a bit at ease.

He detested seeing her suffer, but what hurt him the most was seeing that she tried pretending everything was ok for the sake of others. She put up this unconvincing façade of being content and happy at Jin's side, but he knew better. He could see right through her little charade. He knew she was lonely and neglected, but no matter what he did to try and make her feel better, he knew he would never be able to fill the vacancy Jin was leaving in her heart. If making everyone believe that she was happy made her feel more at ease, he would continue to play along with her little act.

All he could do was be there for her as her friend.

It was the least he could do for lying to her about so many things.

However, today Yoongi noticed something different about Ji Su. She looked happier and livelier than before, as if her problems and concerned vanished with the rise of the morning sun. She glowed and radiated calmness and tranquility. He felt relieved to see Ji Su didn't appear to be so tormented as the day before. He wondered what could have happened to have brightened her mood like that.

Shaking himself from his thoughts Yoongi spoke, "How did your visit with the doctors go the other day? The party's chaos made me forget to ask you about it. Is everything ok? You're looking better..."

"It went just great. You're actually the first I tell this to. I definitely feel relieved that I don't have anything incurable like I thought. I was afraid I was sick, but I am more than ok. The nausea and insomnia will soon go away with adequate rest." Ji Su explained as a tender smile played on her lips.

"That's great, I have to admit I was also worried. You really did look like a zombie. You also look ... happier today, did something good happen?" Yoongi asked as he teased Ji Su.

"I won't tell you just yet, but yes something fantastic actually happened and I can't wait to tell you, but later. Let's eat breakfast first, I am starving!" Ji Su chimed as she took Yoongi's hand and dragged him out of the room before they woke up Jinie.

Yoongi spent the rest of the morning with them, doing chores around the house. Yoongi found out Jin had left right after Jinie's birthday party to film some of the last scenes of his drama. She called Jin to ask him to have lunch with her because she had something important to tell him, but he said he was far too busy to leave the set today, but he promised to be home that evening so they could talk about whatever it was that Ji Su needed to go over. She wanted to tell him about their baby today! Today was Jin's birthday, so Ji Su couldn't wait for him to come home. She had a special little intimate surprise planned out for him.

After having helped Ji Su complete some tasks around the house, which mainly consisted of playing with Jinie, Yoongi drove Ji Su to Mina's house to drop off Jinie. Ji Su and Mina instantaneously wandered off to privately chat together leaving Jinie and Yoongi alone. After having to almost pry Ji Su away from Mina's clutches as they hugged, he drove Ji Su to a nearby restaurant where she was to meet with her parents for lunch instead.

They promptly arrived at the restaurant and Yoongi walked her to the entrance. As Ji Su got out of his car, she seemed unable to contain herself as she flashed Yoongi a huge smile.

"I can't wait until tomorrow. I was feeling conflicted at first, but now I feel reassured that everything will work out. I'll let you and Mina in on a little secret tomorrow! Look forward to our next meeting!" Ji Su informed Yoongi as she pulled him into an unexpected hug.

Yoongi quickly accepted and returned the hug. He pulled away and admired her sparkling and cheerful figure. Her eyes twinkled with excitement as she smiled at him.

The light in her eyes was ignited once again.

Before he could question her, Ji Su's parents soon arrived, and Yoongi was forced to bid them farewell and leave to work.

Ji Su had called her parents out to lunch to announce to them that their second grandchild was on the way! She knew they would be super excited upon receiving the news, well at least she hoped they would be. They walk up to the receptionist and a server began to guide them towards their table.

As they made their way to their seats, Ji Su notices a familiar figure amid the people seated in the back. She dismisses her curiosity and continues rehearsing in her mind how she will deliver the news to her parents. They inch closer to the person who had initially caught Ji Su's attention, and Ji Su couldn't help but let her eyes drift back towards them.

Ji Su freezes as her eyes land directly on that person.

After instantaneously recognizing that person, a chain of unexpected events unfolds before Ji Su.

A depiction stolen from deep within her most feared nightmares stood before her.

There in the far back sat a couple seated towards the back of the restaurant.

The ever so familiar broad prominent shoulders casually rested in one of the chairs in the far back.

Wrapped around those broad shoulders were a pair of venomous arms that had snaked their way to entrap his long delicate neck.

The skanky red head figure sat sprawled on Ji Su's beloved thighs as his needy hands touched the person's torso.

The revolting head of the person who sat on his lap glued to his own.

They looked like they were really enjoying their sickening time together.

Ji Su's eyes were open wide in complete disbelief, and her blood boiled as she began to process everything she had just seen. Her feet grew weak beneath her, almost causing her to fall forward. Her dad caught her in his arms and observed her with concern. Ji Su remained in her dad's secure embrace for a moment trying as best as she could to collect the pieces of her broken and obliterated heart.

As best as she could, she tried to get her parents to agree to leave the restaurant, trying to go as unnoticed as possible.

She didn't want them to see him there.

She choked down her tears, with an unconcealable look of disbelief and pain plastered on her face, as she told her parents she needed to go to Mina's to pick up Jinie. She tried convincing them that she had forgotten that Mina had asked her to pick up Jinie before lunch time, because Mina had errand to run.

Not feeling very convinced, Ji Su's parents hesitantly accepted Ji Su's excuse and allowed her to go. Her parents obliged to her wishes to leave, but were hesitant to let her go alone. They noticed she looked off and were worried about her drastic change in appearance.

Ji Su reassured them over and over again that she was fine, and told them she really had to go. She promised to make it up to them later, and pulled both of them into a long strong hug. Her parents gave her worried smiles, and saw her off as she got picked up by a taxi.

Ji Su waved to her parents farewell as the taxi took off.

As she finally sat alone in the taxi, tears finally began to silently flow from her sad disillusioned eyes. The sparkle in her eyes once again extinguished.

This was exactly what she had feared.

It was exactly what had kept her awake all those countless nights.

He had left her.

Now she was alone.

They were alone.

She would never ... never fall into his web of lies ever again.
