After dinner Titus had some things he had to work out, so he stayed behind while I headed home.

I hopped out of the shower and changed into one of Titus's t-shirts and a pair of navy blue pajama bottoms. A lot of my clothes no longer fit, and I hadn't made an effort to wear maternity clothes. I climbed into bed and rested my back against the headboard.

I couldn't let what happened at dinner go. If I didn't say anything he would think it's okay to talk to me the way he did. And it's not. I didn't want to argue, but it had to be brought up.

I had finally decided that as soon as he walked through the door, we were going to have a discussion. I grabbed my book from my nightstand and began reading.

He finally walked through the door and hour later. I placed my book down in my lap and looked towards him. He smiled as our eyes met. "Hey, surprised you're still up."

I casted my eyes downward. He moved closer until he was directly in front of the bed. "Hey, I know that look. What's wrong?" He sat facing me on the bed.

"The fact that you don't know what's wrong is mind boggling." I glared at him in disgust. He through his head back and sighed. "Look if this is about dinner, I admit I was a bit aggressive but I think you're overreacting."

I narrowed my eyes. "I didn't want to say anything because we were surrounded by the pack, but you had no right speaking to me that way." He nodded in agreement.

"You're right." He lowered his head in shame.

My eyes went wide at the new side of Titus. He wasn't trying to fight me on this, which was strange but I wasn't complaining. "Carter is my friend. You can't tell me to cut off all communication with him because of your insecurities." He snapped his head up. "I'm not insecure! I just..." He trailed off.

I took a deep breath and sighed. "Titus we're about to raise a pup together. Carter should be the last thing on our minds." He nodded, "You're right Brinn. I'm sorry I made a scene at dinner." I grabbed his hand in mine. "It's okay, but please don't let it happen again." He nodded then wrapped his arms carefully around me.

Burying his face in my neck, he quickly blurted out his next sentence. "I have to go out of town." I pushed him off of me and glared. "Are you insane! I'm having our pup soon and now you want to take spontaneous trips!" I yelled.

"I don't want to leave, but the Westbrook pack just got attacked by the Silver Crest wolves. They're out of control Brinn." I crossed my arms over my chest then narrowed my eyes. "How is you going there going to benefit them?" I asked stubbornly.

"Brinn, their alpha is dead and many others have been taken captive. We have to figure out what happens next." My jaw dropped. "That's horrible."

He continued, "With our attack they were only expecting Red Moon. When they realized they were outnumbered they took off. Westbrook being so small, they didn't stand a chance." I shook my head in annoyance. "I don't understand. Why are they doing this?"

"It's a power thing love. But don't worry, everything will be fine."

I nodded, "Okay."

He smiled then stood. "I'm going to go take a shower." He walked into the bathroom then turned on the shower.

I turned the lamp off on the bedside table then brought the covers up to my chin and turned on my side. I quickly fell asleep before Titus made it back to bed.

Titus flopped onto the bed and rested his head on my lap. "I leaving soon." I nodded slowly then ran my hand over my face.

I was miserable. I wanted this pup out of me. As horrible as I felt to even think those words...it was true. I was tired of being pregnant and sweaty all the time. Last night was the worst, I barely got any sleep because the pup wouldn't stop kicking. I knew it would only get more challenging when the pup was here.

"Hey are you okay?" I asked, concerned.

"Yeah, I'm just tired." He sat up and brought his hand up to my forehead. "I can tell. Brinn I don't have to go."

I shook my head. "Yes you do." I grabbed his hand from my forehead and placed it in my lap.

"You and our pup are my top priorities. If you're not okay then-" I pushed off the bed and placed my hands over my chest.

"I'm fine Titus, really I am. If anything happens I will call you, Okay?" He slowly nodded then stood. "I will be back tomorrow evening." I smiled, "Okay sounds good." He placed a kiss on my forehead then pulled me into a hug. He pulled away then grabbed his duffle bag.

Placing a hand over my stomach, his eyes lit up with joy and pride. "Bye Brinn." He smiled then removed his hand. He gave me one last glance before he headed out the door.

Titus POV

We had been on the road for about two hours now. Ryan sat in the passenger seat while Al and Seth followed behind us. "So why did you bring the kid again?" Ryan asked.

"There was no way I was leaving him with Brinn without me there." He shrugged his shoulders. "I still can't believe you made him a warrior."

I shook my head. "Neither can I." I couldn't help but feel as if I made a mistake. A common thing I had been doing lately.

"So what's the plan." I shook my head. "Isn't That why were going there? To make a plan?"

He sank into his seat. "Well yes but...it doesn't hurt to have one in mind." I sighed then tightened my grip around the wheel.

We drove in silence the rest of the way. Ryan eventually fell asleep and was annoying the héll out of me with his loud snores. When we arrived at the Westbrook pack house I purposely slammed on the brakes. Causing Ryan to fly forward and hit his head on the dash. "Oh wow! Are you okay?" I asked.

He carefully massaged his head. "Dude what the fúck?!" I turned off the engine and shrugged my shoulders. "Sorry I thought I saw something run by." He shook his head and muttered, "ásshole." I burst into a fit of laughter.

"Titus." I turned around to be met with Alpha Richard and Owen. I quickly straightened as Ryan joined me, still slightly annoyed by my recent actions.

"Richard...Owen." Owen shot me a small nod then continued typing away on his phone. "How's my daughter." Richard asked with a hard gaze.

"She's fine." I shoved my hands into my pockets casually. The tension between Richard and I was thick. He had his reasons for not liking me and I had mine for not liking him. But we knew we would have to deal with each other in order to get through this meeting.

"Well let's get this over with because I'm tired." Owen said as he lead the way into the pack house.

A few pack members greeted us as we made our way to the conference room. We piled into the room and each took a seat around the round table. Seth and Al stayed outside to guard the door.

"So what's the plan?" Owen asked as he crossed his arms over his chest and placed his feet on the table.

Richard was the first to speak up. "Well I was thinking..." He paused to push Owen's feet off the desk. Owen glared at his father but stayed silent. "We have roughly around sixty members without an alpha-" Owen quickly spoke up. "Well what about their Luna?" He asked.

"She passed a couple of years back after giving birth to their son." I stated.

"Oh." He sunk into his seat and stayed silent.

Richard cleared his throat. "Back to what I was saying. These people are going to need an alpha, so to be fair I think we should split the pack up. Half goes with you and half comes with me. We'll try to keep families together as best we can."

I crossed my arms over my chest. "And what if they don't want to join either of our packs?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "Well that's their problem. Now isn't it?" He said, narrowing his eyes.

"I'll let you know my decision in the morning." I had to run it by Brinn. Although I knew she'd agree I wanted her to feel like her opinion mattered in the pack. I messed up a lot in the past by not letting her have a say so. Even though she tried to hide it, I knew it hurt her.

Richard shook his head and sighed. "Fine." As we ended the meeting the door opened revealing a tall she wolf with shoulders length blonde curly hair.

"Um hi I'm Paisley. I can show you all to your rooms now." She said with a small smile.

We all nodded in agreement. Leading us out of the room Paisley's faced turned red as soon as she made eye contact with Seth. She held her head down and hid behind her golden hair. Ryan and I shared a knowing look.

You gotta bring her to our pack. You know why. He said through mind link. I nodded with a smile.

Once we were upstairs Paisley turned to face us. Making sure to look anywhere but in Seth's direction. "Okay this whole hall is yours. You may choose whichever room you'd like."

We all thanked her and went straight into our rooms. I collapsed onto the queen sized bed and pulled out my phone, dialing Brinn's number. She picked up on the third ring.

"Hello." She snapped.

"Um..." I trailed off, confused by her outburst.

"Sorry I'm just really tired right now." She explained.

I sat up on the edge of the bed. "Go to sleep."
She scoffed, "Yeah I would but ya know it's really hard when a baby is kicking your insides every ten minutes."

I ran my hand through my hair. "I'm sorry love, I'll be home tomorrow evening." She sighed. "Okay."

"So how did the meeting go?" She asked. "That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about." The line went silent for a few seconds. "I'm listening." She finally said.

"We're thinking of splitting the pack up. Half joins our pack and half joins your father's. What do you think?"

She chuckled. "You're actually asking me for once?"

I stood and walked towards my duffle bag. "Yes I am." I could tell she was smiling by the silence. "I say go for it. You'd be doing a great thing by giving these wolves a home. They could build a great life here. A fresh start is probably what a lot of them need."

I couldn't help but smile. "That's my girl." I quickly changed into my black pajamas pants and threw on a white shirt. "We'll have to get some of the rooms in the pack house together until we build more houses." I said as I walked towards the window.

"I'll let the pack know tomorrow." Staring out of the window I spotted a small boy around 4 or 5 wandering around the front. It was way too cold for him to be outside. "Hey uh Brinn I'll call you tomorrow." I said hurriedly as I rushed towards the door. "Um okay?"

"Love you, Bye." I hung up the phone and speed walked down the stairs. I pushed open the front door and came to a stop. He was in a thin Toy Story pajama set with his arms wrapped tightly around a white teddy bear.

"Hey um kid." He quickly turned around with his blue eyes wide and terrified. "What are you doing outside?" I asked.

"I miss my daddy." I slowly walked closer towards him. "Well who's your dad?" I asked as I crouched to the ground.

"Alpha Winston." I took in a deep breath.

"Oh..." I trailed off not sure on what to say. His dark blue eyes began to water as he pulled the teddy bear closer to his chest.

"What's your name?" I asked, trying to change the subject. "Kohl."

I stuck my hand out. "Nice to meet you Kohl, I'm Titus." He shook my hand and smiled. I wiped away his tears then smiled. "Do you like hot chocolate?" His eyes lit up with excitement as he nodded. I grabbed his small hand and led him into the house.
