"Yellow, I found a report from Pink's zoo," Blue Diamond told, holding a screen for Yellow Diamond to see, "This cannot be a coincidence,"

Yellow Diamond frowned as she took the screen and read it carefully, her face softening as she read through the report, "...That is very peculiar, I admit,"

"A human from four thousand years ago with the ability to speak, strange clothing, and then suddenly disappeared from sight," Blue Diamond summarized,

"We will have to question the human when it arrives," Yellow Diamond informed, "The team sent to Earth is behind schedule. We have not been able to get in contact with the crew, most likely since they are exploring Earth's surface, gathering information on the cluster,"

"Please, get in contact with that crew as soon as possible," Blue Diamond pleaded

"I will try," Yellow Diamond nodded

-----------

"How's it going, Steven?" Y/n asked as parked their scooter and walked to the small kid

"I'm doing fine," Steven smiled

"Getting over those post birthday feelings?" Y/n asked

"...Let's not talk about yesterday," Steven blushed

"Heh, you got it, buddy," Y/n laughed weakly

"Are you okay? You seem kind of... off," Steven commented

"Eh, must be coming down with something," Y/n gave a small cough, "Nothing some cold medicine won't fix,"

"Ah, finally," Peridot approached, "You've returned, I need your assistance immediately," Peridot said, then stopped in her place as she examined Y/n up and down, "Your epidermal pigment has changed,"

"Hmm?" Y/n titled their head

"Your skin... it's paler," Peridot told, "Hmm, is human skin supposed to change color?"

"A little," Y/n said, "What'd you need help with?"

"Oh right, yes. We've begun work on the drill, but I am having a difficult time locating a certain piece and I need you to find it," Peridot told

"What're you looking for?" Y/n asked

"Allow me to show you," Peridot said, "I have drawn a diagram to aid in your search,"

"Does the item have a name?" Y/n asked

"Err... Here, look a the diagram," Peridot grabbed Y/n by the wrist and pulled them towards the barn, "Now, as you can see by this well-drawn diagram, I need an extension for the... hand drill... that is 1/8th of an inch,"

"I can go and buy one of those," Y/n told

"Buy... That would require you to go to another location, correct?" Peridot asked

"Yeah," Y/n nodded

"This part can wait, then," Peridot murmured, "Forget I said anything! It wasn't that important anyway,"

"If you say so," Y/n chuckled

"Peridot, have you found the drill bit, yet?" Pearl called from inside the barn, "Without it we can't move forward with the drill!"

"Hey, Pearl," Y/n called

"Hello, Y/n," Pearl said as she walked out of the barn to greet them, "How is your hand?"

"It's fine," Y/n said, "It isn't healing as nicely as I'd want it do,"

"Hmm, perhaps we need more of that... ointment," Pearl said, "How are you feeling? You seem a bit lethargic,"

"How so?" Y/n asked

"Your eyes, they're... Glossed over," Pearl said, "Are you perhaps getting sick?"

"Maybe," Y/n said, "Peridot was just telling me about the drill bit,"

"Ah, yes. Unfortunately we cannot find a drill bit set at the barn," Pearl told

"Well, I offered to go and buy one, but Peridot seemed to have an objection to that idea," Y/n said

"Peridot?" Pearl frowned

"Well... Uh, you see... I figured that Y/n could... Do something of more value!" Peridot pieced together, "There are so many other parts of the drill to work on! Besides, they just arrived. It would be rude to send them away so quickly!"

"Y/n, please head into town and buy us a drill set," Pearl turned to Y/n, handing over Greg's debit card, "And remember-"

"See no evil, speak no evil," Y/n said as they pocketed the card

"That's my Y/n," Pearl smiled as she patted Y/n's back

"Wait! I-I'll accompany you!" Peridot told

"No, Peridot you have to stay here where we can watch you," Pearl said

"You allowed the Y/n to accompany me to the Kindergarten, but I am not allowed to accompany Y/n to another closer location?" Peridot questioned

"I'll look after her," Y/n assured, "It's not a problem,"

"Alright..." Pearl fretted, "If you are okay with it, I guess Peridot can go with you,"

"Yes!" Peridot pumped excitedly, "Er... I mean... That is acceptable,"

"Alright, follow me Peri," Y/n waved for Peridot to follow as they went back to their scooter, "Eh... I guess you don't need a helmet," Y/n said as they strapped their helmet on and sat on the scooter, "Hop on,"

"Hmm," Peridot glanced over the vehicle before climbing on, "What do I hold onto?"

"Me," Y/n said, "Hold onto my sides,"

"Nyeh..." Peridot made an odd sound as she carefully put her hands on Y/n's hips, "Like this?"

"Perfect," Y/n said as they turned the ignition on, "Here we go," Y/n twisted the accelerator handle forward and sped off down the street.

"Ah! I wasn't aware the vehicle moves this quickly!" Peridot yelped as she held onto Y/n tightly

"I can slow down if you want!" Y/n yelled over the rushing windows

"N-no! This is perfectly fine!" Peridot assured as she gripped Y/n, "What is our estimated time of arrival?"

"Should be five minutes!" Y/n said, keeping their eyes on the road

"The land is declining!" Peridot shrieked as Y/n began to drove, the road dipping down

"I know, Peri," Y/n said as they drove down, "I've been on this path many a-times,"

"I-I see," Peridot said, resting her head on Y/n's back

"I can go slower," Y/n assured, "It'll just take us an extra minute or two,"

"It's okay," Peridot took a deep breath, "I can handle it... I'm just not used to a vehicle moving so fast when it has no walls or containment..."

"Ah, I get it," Y/n nodded as they rounded a corner into Beach City, "We're almost there. The hardware store should just be a few blocks away,"

"Blocks?" Peridot frowned

"Well, in this town we have a grid system for streets and avenues," Y/n said, "Every intersection between a street and avenue is called a block,"

"That is a well designed system," Peridot commented, "It seems humans aren't as dumb as I first imagined,"

"Don't be so quick to assume that," Y/n laughed, "There are some pretty dumb humans out there,"

"I never said humans were intelligent," Peridot snapped, "I just said they weren't as... low-intelligence as I thought, and I set a very low bar,"

"Ah, I see," Y/n gave a small chuckle as they pulled up to a hardware store and parked their bike near by, "Alright, we're here,"

"Hmm... This is the location that has the needed parts?" Peridot frowned

"Yep, come on," Y/n waved Peridot over as they walked inside, "Don't leave my side, 'kay?"

"Ugh, yes. I will not leave your side," Peridot groaned as she grabbed Y/n's hand

"Heh... Alright," Y/n laughed a bit as Peridot grabbed their hand without Y/n telling her to. Y/n walked down the linoleum aisles until they found the section with power tools. The two walked into the aisle, looking at all the packages until Y/n picked up a blue plastic case filled with drill bits, one of them labeled 1/8th inch, "Got it,"

"Perfect, let us return immediately," Peridot said

"Wait, we've gotta pay for it first," Y/n reminded

"Right... Exchange human capital for goods or services, that is how you do it on Earth," Peridot recalled

"Exactly," Y/n said as they went to the self-checkout lane, scanned the item, and payed using the debit card, "Alright now we can go,"

"It just occured to me... Where shall we put the item to make sure it isn't lost in transit?" Peridot questioned

"Let me show you," Y/n laughed as they went over to the scooter and lifted the seat up, "Ta da! Secret compartment!"

"That definitely solves our dilemma," Peridot nodded, "Now may we head back to the barn?"

"Yes, ma'am," Y/n nodded, "Hop on

"May I have... one of your cranial protectors?" Peridot asked

"They're called helmets, Peri," Y/n told as they grabbed a second helmet from the compartment and handed to Peridot

"Cranial protectors, helmets, they're the same thing," Peridot waved off as she strapped the helmet with a struggled against her pointy hair, eventually getting it secured, "I am ready!"

"You look it," Y/n laughed

-----------

"We can take you home if you'd like, it really isn't a problem," Garnet assured Y/n as the two watched the sunset with Pearl and Amethyst. Y/n sat between Garnet's legs and rested their body against Garnet's chest

"I'm okay, I can get myself home if need be," Y/n told, their breath jagged

"You're getting sick, Y/n," Garnet said

"I'll be fine," Y/n assured, stifling a cough, "I'll get some medicine. I'll be good,"

"Yeah, Y/n's tough," Amethyst laughed, "They'll be just fine,"

"Steven," Peridot approached Steven, who was lying on Lion, playing his ukulele

"Hi!" Steven greeted

"Why did we stop working on the drill?! Why are they just sitting there looking at nothing?!" Peridot whined

"We worked hard and we deserve to take it easy for a little bit. I mean just look at that view. It's beautiful," Steven told

"It's going to be blown to oblivion by the Cluster if we don't get back to work!" Peridot yelled

"Working hard is important, but feeling good is important too," Steven informed

"What are you talking about?!" Peridot groaned as she clasped her hands tightly, accidentally starting the drill in her hand

"Hey!" Steven smiled, imitating the drill, "What is that, a C?"

"The drill?" Peridot frowned, making the drill buzz again

"Yeah!" Steven smiled, Peridot making the drill spin in a higher pitch, "Oh my gosh! Now it's music! Y/n! Come over here!"

"Music?" Peridot questioned

"Someone say music?" Y/n asked as they walked over to Steven and Peridot

"Yeah! It's music! Like this, do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do," Steven sang as he strummed his ukulele

"Do-mi-so-do..." Peridot said

"Isn't it pretty?" Steven said in a sing-songy voice, "Y/n did you bring your uke?"

"That's exceedingly simple," Peridot commented, "Do-mi-so-ti..."

"We're making music," Y/n sang, "I'll go get it, it's in my scooter,"

"What is the point? You're not making anything," Peridot told

"Well, if it isn't anything, then why does it sound so good?" Steven asked, Y/n returning quickly with their ukulele

"I suppose it's just interest... Do-mi-so-do. Devoid of substance or purpose, a hypothetical pattern... Do-mi-so-ti. For the satisfaction of bringing it to completion," Peridot spoke as Y/n and Steven strummed on their instruments

"Sure," Steven said

"Do-mi-so-ti. Interest without meaning? Solutions without problems?" Peridot spoke

"And then you just add words," Y/n told

"Here's what I've been working on," Steven said, "Y/n, it's D minor 7, G major, C minor 7, then A minor. Two down strums, and then pluck the the C and E strings,"

"Like this?" Y/n asked as they followed Steven's instructions

"Exactly!" Steven smiled, "Life and death and love and birth, And peace and war on the planet Earth. Is there anything that's worth more than peace and love on the planet Earth? Oh - Whooah, come on and sing it with me..."

"Sing?" Peridot frowned

"The words relate to the key," Y/n sang in tune

"Key?" Peridot made a strange face as she seemingly pulled out a key from nowhere

"If it's a pattern, If it's a pattern. Then just repeat after me... Life and death and love and birth-" Steven sang

"Life and death and love and birth," Y/n and Peridot sang, Peridot unsure of herself

"Now you sing mi-fa-mi-mi-fa-mi-ti-la!" Steven told

"And peace and war on the planet Earth!" Y/n, Steven, and Peridot sang

"Yes, yes! That's it!" Steven cheered

"That's so easy," Peridot said

"Yeah, but that's what's fun about it," Y/n told

"You should write something, you should write a song!" Steven suggested

"About what?" Peridot frowned

"Whatever you're thinking!" Steven smiled

-----

"I guess we already know. We've all got something to fear," Peridot sang as she stood on a stump, Y/n, Steven, Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst all sat near a fire and watched her, "We've all got nowhere to go. I think you're all INSANE! But I guess I am too... Anybody would be if they were stuck on Earth with you,"

"Hahahaha! Yes!" Steven laughed

------

"Life and death and love and birth and," Y/n sang while they used a welding torch Pearl gave Y/n to weld tungsten plates together

"Life and death and love and birth and-" Amethyst hummed as she began moving parts around

" Life and death and love and birth and Peace and war on the planet Earth," Pearl sang as she handed over a tool to Peridot

"Is there anything that's worth more?" Garnet sang as she lifted heavy parts over her head

"Is there anything that's worth more?" Steven sang as he patted Y/n on the back, who was having a coughing fit out of sight of the gems

"Is there anything that's worth more than peace and love on the planet Earth..." Peridot hummed as she stood in front of the large drill

"Nice work," Garnet complimented as she patted Peridot on the back, Peridot jumped in fear at the sudden touch. Everyone laughed as Y/n and Steven both hugged Peridot

"We really did it, huh?" Peridot admired

"We?" Steven gasped in happiness

"Oh wait. I need to check something!" Peridot said as she ran off to the drill

"She's come so far," Steven smiled

"It feels like just yesterday she was trying to kill us," Y/n laughed

"No no, that was several weeks ago," Pearl told

"Coordinates! We still need the Cluster's exact coordinates in order to drill!" Peridot called

"Isn't it like... Just under the Earth?" Y/n questioned, "It shouldn't be too hard to find,"

"It's not that simple, there is a large possibility we could completely miss the Cluster if we do not drill in the right place," Peridot told

"Oh," Y/n groaned

"There's a Diamond Base that may hold that information, but getting there is going to be difficult," Pearl told

"How come?" Steven asked

"Because it's not accessible by warp pad," Pearl told as she looked up to the sky, raising her hand to her head, "And it's on..."

"The moon!" Steven gasped in awe

"Yes, Steven, the moon," Pearl confirmed

"Ugh, are we gonna have to build a spaceship now? It didn't turn out well last time we tried," Y/n reminded

"Wait, Lion! We can use Lion!" Steven cheered as he ran to Lion, "Lion! Can you make us a special super warp to the moon?" Steven pleaded, but Lion just grunted and stretched his arms and legs, ignoring Steven, "Come on, Lion, we gotta do this to stop the Cluster! If we don't there's gonna be no more Earth! No more fun times with your pals, no more Lion Lickers... no more naps?" Lion stood up suddenly and roared, his eyes glowing white, "Guess it was naps," Steven laughed

"Wait, we're going to the moon... Like, right now?" Y/n frowned

"Yes," Garnet said as she got onto Lion's back

"You know what? I've been farther in space," Y/n said, "But even when you take the New Virgin Atlantic Spacecraft you gotta sign a waiver! Y'all are just taking me to the freaking moon? Alright! Cool, no I don't see a problem. Let's go!" Y/n said as Steven, Peridot, and them climbed into Lion's mane. Lion began running as he roared, summoning a portal and jumping into it

"Pretty cool, right?" Steven smiled to Peridot, who was screaming as Lion jumped through portal after portal, increasing his speed as he went, "Go, Lion! Goooo!" Soon the portal led to a dark area, Lion stopped jumping portals as he slid across the floor, hitting the wall, "Lion! Are you okay, bud?" Steven jumped out of Lion's mane and hugged him

" Erghh, get me out of this furry fre-" Peridot groaned as she slipped out of Lion's mane, "Whoa!"

"Oh, Lion. You've earned your naps for the week," Steven assured Lion

"We made it," Pearl said, turning her gem into a flashlight. Garnet did the same with her gems

"t doesn't... look like the moon," Steven said

"Hey, look over here! I think it's a door," Amethyst said as she ran over to a wall, she placed her hand on a wall and two panels opened to reveal the surface of the moon. Air began to suck out of the base through the open door. She then took her hand away and the doors close, "Uhh, yup! We on the moon!"

"Amethyst, please! Don't blow us into space!" Pearl chastised

"We're definitely on the moon," Y/n said as they began floating around lightly, Steven as well, "The moon though..."

Steven chuckled as he floated around in the air, "Whoa, look at me! I'm a... moon boy!"

"Haha, alright moon boy!" Amethyst cheered as she ran over to Y/n and Steven. She jumped in the air, but instead of floating like Y/n and Steven she fell to the ground and grunted

"Moon boy quadruple back flip!" Steven cheered, "Come on, Y/n! Be a moon boy with me!"

"I'm nauseous," Y/n groaned as they floated around, doing slow flips

"Hey! Why can't I be a moon boy?" Amethyst groaned

"We're Gems, we're a space-faring race designed to conquer other worlds. Our physical forms adjust automatically to the gravity of any planetoid," Peridot informed

"Ahhh, lame," Amethyst pouted

"I was bouncing on the moon one day!" Steven laughed until he crashed into a wall, "Umph! Huh? Hey Peridot, who is this supposed to be?" Steven peered at a mural

"It's Blue Diamond!" Peridot gasped, "Wait! Are they all here? Ahh yes! There she is!"

"Blue Diamond?" Y/n questioned as they float-walked to the mural, peering at the image

"Who?" Steven frowned

"Behold! Yellow Diamond! Isn't she magnificent?!" Peridot cheered as she ran over to another mural

"Yeah, just great," Y/n rolled their eyes

"Wow... so who are the Diamonds anyway? They seem like a big deal," Steven asked

"Are you joking me?! The Diamonds are the Gem matriarchs! Together they make up the Great Diamond Authority that governs Homeworld and all the outlying colonies! We live to serve them!" Peridot informed proudly. Garnet approached Peridot from behind, clearing her throat and looking down at Peridot, "I mean, we were all made to serve them, even though some of us... don't anymore..." Peridot laughed nervously, "Hey, I think that's a control service over there!" Peridot pointed across the room, "Let's take a look!"

"Yeah!" Steven cheered as he followed Peridot

"Y/n! Follow please!" Peridot called out to Y/n who was taking slow steps

"Coming," Y/n murmured as they made their way

"I think this is right," Peridot said as she examined the floor, "The material is different from the surrounding stone. I think if I just do this..." Peridot moved her hands across the panel and it lit up. It raised up, as do the rest of the panels around the room to create a set of stairs, knocking Lion over in the process. "Nyehehe!" Peridot giggled excitedly, doing a little dance as she looked at the stairs, "This is so incredible. Only the most elite of the elite can enter these sanctums. We are literally walking in the very footsteps of the diamonds," Peridot cheered as the group walked up the stairs

"They must really like stairs," Steven commented as they paced a room with a mysterious object in the middle, "Hey, what's this room?"

"It's not what we came here for," Garnet said, "Y/n?"

"Coming," Y/n said as they lagged behind the group, breathing weakly as they climbed the steps

"Can we hurry it up? This place gives me the creeps," Amethyst groaned

"We really are on the moon," Steven commented as they reached the top of the structure with a view of the moon's surface.

"The moon though," Y/n breathed out

"Oh my goodness! This looks like it could be brand new! I mean it's a relic by today's standards, but, golly! It's so elegant, so simple, so perfect!" Peridot gushed as she went over to a panel near a large chair, "Y/n! Look at this marvel!"

"It's... Something," Y/n said

"So how do you turn it on?" Amethyst asked

"I have no idea," Peridot told

"Hey, it's got one of those glowy hand dealies," Steven told as he accidentally turned on the machine, sitting in a large white chair

"You can't sit there!" Peridot yelped

"Why not? It's really cool," Steven laughed as she swung his legs over the edge of the seat

"That chair is only for the most elite Gems, you can't go around sitting where an Elite would sit!" Peridot said frantically

"Well they aren't here now, right?" Steven asked, patting the area next to him. Peridot glanced to Y/n, who gave a small smile and a thumbs up. She then jumped up next to Steven and sat down, concentrating a bit before she gave an excited giggle and smile, "Hey, what's this doodad for?" Steven asked as he grabbed white crystal

"Put that back! Hm, okay, let's see here..." Peridot murmured as the chair they were sitting in got closer to the control panel, "There we go. This is a really old system," Peridot then began searching through diamond shaped files that appeared on the screen, "Gotta find the right file... aha! Cluster, Cluster where are you, Cluster? Aha! There's the insertion point. Looks like the Beta Kindergarten in Facet Nine. It's the smaller of the two, not nearly as impressive as yours, Amethyst,"

"Uhh... thanks?" Amethyst shrugged

"But where is the cluster now?" Pearl asked

"Hang on... there it is!" Peridot exclaimed as she opened the file, "It's embedded deep into the mantle, relative to the barn its roughly two thousand five hundred units down. All we need to do is feed this data to the drill and we should be all set,"

"That's it then, mission accomplished!" Pearl exclaimed

"Yeah, team!" Steven cheered

"Great, let's get the heck out of here," Amethyst said, "Y/n looks like they're about'a pass out,"

"I'm fine," Y/n assured, "Seriously,"

"Wait! Hold on, does this thing have any games on it?" Steven asked

"No no no no, this wasn't used for games," Peridot chastised

"Aw," Steven pouted

"It was used for planning a colony. Here, look," Peridot told as she summoned a map of the Earth

"So here is a map of all structures that were originally built on Earth. All told, this probably only accounts for maybe, five percent of what was originally planned," Peridot explained

"What was the plan?" Y/n asked,

"Well, let's take a look," Peridot said as she tapped on the console, which caused a projection of what seemed to be Earth, but it was hollowed out and had rings around it, "Ta-da! A finished Earth colony. Wow, look at this! Eighty-nine kindergartens, sixty-seven spires, a Galaxy Warp in each facet, efficient use of all available materials. What were you thinking, shutting this operation down? It could've been great!"

"No! You're wrong!" Garnet snapped

"What do you mean? It's perfect, look at it," Peridot frowned, "Right, Y/n?"

"Peridot... quit while you're ahead," Y/n warned

"We are looking at it," Pearl told

"Yeah, this plan stinks!" Amethyst exclaimed

"Completing this colony would have meant the extinction of all life on Earth!" Garnet told

"But think of the good it would have done. The Gems that would have been made, our Empire expanded," Peridot listed

"Rose Quartz believed all life was precious, and worth protecting," Pearl informed with melancholy

"Well if she wanted to protect it she did a lousy job! There'd be no cluster if the Earth had stayed a colony," Peridot told, "Now there's no colony, and there's gonna be no Earth, so thank you, Rose Quartz! You doomed the planet!"

"No one ever listen to me," Y/n groaned as the Gems looked to Peridot furiously

"Is there anything that's worth more th-?" Steven laughed nervously

"You, listen to me, now," Garnet threatened as she lifted Peridot up and summoned her gauntlet, "You are talking about things that you do not understand..."

"Garnet, stop! Please! It's not worth it. We're done here, let's just... go home," Steven pleaded, "Y/n looks like they're about to pass out, come on,"

Garnet dropped Peridot on the ground and smashed the control panel with her gauntlet, "Y/n... You don't look well,"

"I'm fine," Y/n assured again, "I just need to pick up some cold medicine,"

"What did I say? I'm just stating a fact. The Rebellion didn't really save Earth, it just delayed the inevitable," Peridot groaned

"That's not the way they see it," Steven sighed, "They've spent thousand of years trying to protect the Earth. I thought maybe, you finally understood why," Steven said as he helped Y/n down the stairs, but Peridot didn't follow, "Peridot!"

"What? I'm coming," Peridot told as she approached, holding something behind her back that Y/n and Steven noticed

"Let's go you three," Garnet called

---------

"Want me to talk with Peridot about what she took?" Y/n asked Steven as they yawned loudly

"I'll do it," Steven said, "Besides you look tired,"

"You sure? Want me to back you up at least?" Y/n asked

"Nah, you should get some sleep," Steven waved off, "I'll keep you on the up and up,"

"Pound it," Y/n laughed as they fist bumped Steven

"Heh, see you tomorrow, alright?" Steven smiled a bit as he fist bumped Y/n

"Can do," Y/n gave a quick salute as they walked in the opposite direction towards their moped

"Uh... Y/n... You feeling alright?" Amethyst asked as Y/n trudged towards their scooter

"Yeah, the Tylenol I took really picked me up," Y/n informed

"You don't look... picked up," Amethyst said, "You sure you just don't wanna stay here for the night?"

"I'm fine, I promise," Y/n told, "I'll be here tomorrow so don't do anything without me, alright?"

"I'll pass the message along," Amethyst chuckled, "See ya tomorrow,"

"See ya," Y/n waved as they went to get on their scooter

"Garnet! Amethyst! Pearl! Y/n!" Steven shouted from the barn

"Hmm?" Y/n frowned as Amethyst and them ran over to the barn, where Steven revealed the device Peridot had taken earlier

"She took a direct line to the Diamonds! From the moon base? What was she thinking?" Pearl gasped

"Man, after everything we've gone through, she's still out to get us! Ohh, I'm takin' back all my cool nicknames for her! So long, Peri and P-dot, hello... Ahhh, I'm too mad! I'll think of something later," Amethyst fumed

"Seriously...?" Y/n sighed as Peridot honked the horn of a car loudly from the barn

"I see she knows what a horn is now," Steven groaned

"You two offered her a lot of your trust," Garnet told

"We did! And it blew up in our face. You guys have been protecting Earth for thousands of years. She could've destroyed all of that. A whole earth, why did I think I could change her mind?" Steven pouted

"Ugh, I know right?" Amethyst groaned, "But I guess you can't like go into peoples heads and change how they think. Maybe we can? Yeaaah if we just shrink down really little-"

"No no no, I don't want to tell her what to do," Y/n said

"She should just know. Shouldn't she?" Steven told

"It's 'cause you believe in everyone Y/n," Garnet told, "You too, Steven. Like your mother, you seem to have a little more patience than the rest of us. But the truth is, not everyone deserves that patience,"

"Look on the bright side. At least you got this thing away from her before she did any real damage," Pearl said

"Yeah..." Steven sighed

"We never dismantled Peridot's robot," Y/n suddenly realized. Soon after a side of the barn exploded, revealing Peridot in her robot

"Free, freeeee! Ahahaha!" Peridot laughed maniacally

"How did she escape?" Steven gasped

"Fools!" Peridot yelled as she threw the truck door in front of the group, "Your invisible rotary shield was no match for me... once I applied logic!"

"Now I'm going to do this right," Peridot said as she threw the entire truck at the Gems and Y/n. Everyone jumped out of the way, Pearl and Amethyst kept their grip on the Homeworld Communicator, but Peridot came and grabbed it from them using the Robot's hand

"See? None of you know what you doing!" Peridot yelled as she ran away

"Ohh okay! I've been ready for this!" Amethyst said as she shape shifted into a helicopter, "Get in,"

"Where's Steven and Y/n?" Pearl questioned as she and Garnet got into the Amethyst-copter

"Steven, come on, we gotta go!" Y/n said as they brushed themself off and ushered Steven to the helicopter

"Stupid Peridot, stupid giant robot! Oh why, oh why did I have to encourage her?" Steven grumbled as Y/n helped him into the helicopter

"There's no time for feeling horrible. We have to catch Peridot before she contacts Yellow Diamond," Garnet said as Amethyst took off and tracked down Peridot

"That's right. You can feel horrible all you want back at the temple," Pearl told

"What's up, Perisnot?!" Amethyst laughed as she flew overhead Peridot's robot

"Good one, Amethyst!" Steven cheered

"Y/n... Are you okay?" Pearl asked as Y/n held their gauze-wrapped hand and stared out the side of the helicopter, "Y/n?

"I'm fine!" Y/n jumped, "We gotta catch her, quick,"

"Right," Pearl nodded as shed summoned her spear and Garnet summoned her gauntlets. Peridot looked up and saw them, she screamed as Garnet launched her gauntlets at Peridot's robot, knocking it into an electricity line. The robot fell over and let go of the communicator. Peridot groaned as she recovered from the trip, but giggled once she saw the communicator, trying to reach it. Pearl's spear flew down and knocked the communicator away from Peridot. Amethyst transformed back to her regular form as everyone jumped out, the other Gems fall down around Peridot while Y/n stumbled a bit as they gained their footing.

"Dog pile!" Amethyst called as they smashed and punched Peridot's robot, but Y/n quickly saw Peridot slip away through the arm of the robot to retrieve the communicator

"Steven! Peridot is-!" Y/n called out as they dived towards Peridot grabbing onto her leg as Steven jumped and grabbed her upper body

"You're not getting away with it!" Steven shouted, "We trusted you! We spent all that time bonding and hoping and caring about you!"

"You don't get it either! This is your whole prooobleeem! Your emotions rule out reason! I will do what has to be done!" Peridot groaned as she tried twisting the communicator, eventually getting into the right position, "She'll sort this out," Peridot giggled as they device glowed and began to open. Steven helped Y/n take cover behind Peridot's robot. The communicator opens up a hologram as Peridot gets manically excited

"This is the Yellow Diamond control room," Yellow Diamond's Pearl spoke

"Is that another pearl?" Amethyst whispered

"Yeah," Y/n nodded

"Who is she?" Steven asked Pearl

"Ugh, not all pearls know each other Steven," Pearl turned her head

"Who authorized you to make this call?" Yellow Diamond's Pearl questioned

"No one, b-b-but it's an emergency!" Peridot pleaded

"That's no excuse to use the direct diamond communication channel," Yellow Pearl chastised

"Pearl," Yellow Diamond called from off screen

"Yes, my diamond?" Yellow Pearl saluted

"Why is there someone on the Diamond line?" Yellow Diamond asked calmly

"I don't know. I was just about to tell her that-" Yellow Pearl said as she faced Yellow Diamond, gesturing to the screen

"I'll take it from here," Yellow Diamond said as she picked up the screen

"My diamond! Peridot, reporting in," Peridot saluted

"Which peridot?" Yellow Diamond asked

"F- Facet-2-F-5-L, Cut-5-X-G. I'm sorry to contact you this way, but all other forms of communication have been destroyed and," Peridot stammered, but Yellow Diamond gestured for her to stop talking

"This says you're behind schedule on your mission to... How is... the Earth?" Yellow Diamond questioned

"It's... full of life," Peridot gave a meek smile

"Organic life..." Yellow Diamond said in disgust, "And where is the Jasper I assigned you? And why aren't you calling from the ship?"

"The ship was destroyed," Peridot informed

"By whom?" Yellow Diamond glared

"I-I-I-It was destroyed by..." Peridot looked back to Y/n and Steven, before turning right back around, "No one! There was... an accident... while we were...taking off?"

"I'll inform your manager of your incompetence," Yellow Diamond said, "And what of the human?"

"The h-human?" Peridot questioned

"Y/n. The human you were supposed to capture as a secondary objective to your mission? The one Blue Diamond specifically requested?" Yellow Diamond forcefully reminded, Yellow Pearl came into view, peering intently at Peridot

"The human... Did not survive the crash," Peridot said, causing a loud gasp from Yellow Pearl, what seemed to be tears swelling in her eyes

"Pardon me?" Yellow Diamond glared

"The human died on impact, my diamond," Peridot shrinked, "My apologies,"

"You will be explaining to Blue Diamond personally why the human is no longer with us," Yellow Diamond snapped, "And what is the status of The Cluster?"

"The Cluster... will emerge shortly," Peridot told

"Pearl, do you need to excuse yourself?" Yellow Diamond looked down to her Pearl, who was quietly sniffling and wiping her eyes

"Y-yes, my diamond," Yellow Pearl sniffled

"Go on," Yellow Diamond dismissed, "Thank you for your report, Peridot. There'll be a ship heading to your location to take you to your next assignment,"

"Wait! I-I wouldn't called to waste your time with a report," Peridot called out

"You already have," Yellow Diamond chastised

"No, I mean... the reason I called... the real reason is... I believe we should terminate The Cluster," Peridot told

"...Why?" Yellow Diamond asked, unimpressed

"The organic ecosystem creates resources unique to this world, we can't sacrifice all that potential just for one geo-weapon!" Peridot told, "I'd like to tell you some plans I came up with to utilize the planet without disrupting the local-"

"I've heard enough! I don't care about potential and resources," Yellow Diamond cut off

"What?!" Peridot jumped

"I want my Cluster, and I want that planet to die. Just make that happen," Yellow Diamond demanded

"No!" Peridot yelled

"Are you questioning my authority?!" Yellow Diamond asked in anger

"I'm... questioning your objectivity! My Diamond," Peridot told

"You are out of line," Yellow Diamond said firmly

"I just think," Peridot began

"I'm not interested in the puny thoughts of a Peridot," Yellow Diamond raised her voice

"But!" Peridot tried to interject

"You have disrespected this channel and my time with your presence and you would do well to," Yellow Diamond spoke

"But-" Peridot stammered

"Shut your mouth!" Yellow Diamond yelled, "You have failed at every stage of this mission. Your only chance to redeem yourself is to obey this simple order. You are to leave the Cluster to grow. It will tear apart the Earth, and I will take immense satisfaction in erasing that hideous rock off of our star maps. Is that clear?!"

"I won't do it! I can tell you with certainty that there are things on this planet worth protecting!" Peridot shot back

"Yeah, Peri!" Y/n cheered softly, Steven smiled widely as he hugged Y/n

"What do you know about the Earth?!" Yellow Diamond questioned

"Apparently more than YOU! You... CLOD!!!!" Peridot shouted, causing Yellow Diamond to glare terrifyingly at Peridot, her face distorted, "Uuh! Peridot, out!" Peridot cut off the transmission and dropped the device

"That was AMAZING!" Steven cheered as everyone came out from behind the robot

"I can't believe I just did that..." Peridot groaned as she laid on the ground

"I was so wrong about being so wrong about you!" Steven smiled

"You really proved us wrong," Y/n laughed

"I can't believe I just did that..." Peridot groaned louder

"You thought you could change her mind," Garnet said

"Yellow D got torn down by the "Peri-dactyl"!" Amethyst cheered, "And Yellow P got her heart broken into a million pieces!"

"Right..." Y/n rubbed their forehead

"You can do a lot better than her, man," Amethyst assured, "Trust me,"

"Can one of you take this?" Peridot asked as she raised the communicator up

"Why?" Pearl asked as she took the object

"Because it can be remotely detonated," Peridot said as the communicator began to glow red

"How do we stop it?!" Pearl panicked

"Just get rid of it!" Garnet commanded

"Here Amethyst," Pearl threw it to Amethyst

"WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH IT?!" Amethyst yelled as she threw it to Steven. Steven bubbled it quickly and threw it up, where Y/n grabbed their gun and shot at the bubble, sending it off into the distance where it exploded far away.

"I thought I could reason with her..." Peridot groaned

"Yeah. You really made her mad," Amethyst said

"And then you insulted her to her face," Pearl reminded

"Do you know what this means?!" Steven smiled

"That I'm a traitor to my home world?" Peridot said sadly

"You're a Crystal Gem!" Steven said as he hugged Peridot

"Whether you like it or not," Y/n gave a small laughed

"Y/n..." Peridot groaned

"Yeah?" Y/n asked. Peridot looked up teary eyes at Y/n and outstretched her arms, making a grabbing motion with her hands, "Fine," Y/n laughed as they went over to Peridot and lifted her up, allowing her to wrap her arms around Y/n's neck as she rested her head on their shoulder, her legs wrapped around Y/n's body, "Ready to head back to the barn?"

"Mhm," Peridot nodded, holding on to Y/n tightly

"Alright, let's head back then," Y/n patted Peridot's back as they began walking away

"...She's like a baby," Steven laughed

"She's even clingier than a baby," Amethyst said, watching Y/n carry Peridot away

"...Will Y/n be able to walk that far with Peridot... considering their... illness?" Pearl asked

"Stay close behind," Garnet said as she began to follow Y/n and Peridot
