Day 14 - 5:57 pm

After their trip to the Statue of Liberty's crown, Cole and Charlotte were headed towards their next location. Rockefeller Center Skating Rink. Yes, Cole had taken Charlotte roller skating before and they had shared their first kiss there. This was an outdoor ice skating rink though, and she felt like it would be something fun to do as the sun went down.

The drive to the ice skating rink was full of karaoke, mostly by Charlotte of course. Her silly tunes and singing rang throughout the old Civic as she danced around in her seat. It made Cole chuckle at how enthusiastic she was while singing along to Ed Sheeran and All Time Low. Needless to say, it made the trip to the skating rink very entertaining for him.

Once they reached the rink, Cole and Charlotte both stepped out of his car before she went to go stand next to him. "I hope you've been practicing." She poked fun at him, a playful smile on her pink lips as she glanced up at Cole. He looked down at her with a cocked brow before she finally finished her thought. "We're going ice skating." She beamed as she led him over to the rink, having already paid for them in advance.

"Oh great, this is what I get for not practicing." Cole rolled his eyes as he let Charlotte happily drag him along to where they had to get their skates. After telling the man at the counter their size, he gave the couple their respected skates. Once their skates were on, Cole once again fought to keep his balance while standing. If he thought that roller skating was hard, he was in for a big surprise.

It was hard for him to walk when the skate that was on his feet were just a thin, metallic blade. Even while he held a death grip onto the side of the rink, it was still extremely difficult to try and maintain a steady balance without falling on his face. Charlotte was even struggling to keep her balance outside of the outdoor rink. Once the two made it inside the actual rink though, her balance did an entire one-eighty as she easily glided across the ice without a struggle. She was a natural not only on slick wood, but also on the slippery ice.

Night was beginning to fall as the sun began to hide behind the buildings as it lit up the sky with its final show for the day. Hues of pinks, yellows, oranges, and reds covered the sky like an acrylic painting. Soon enough, the sky would turn black and the lights of the city would be their light as they skated through the night. Charlotte had planned this day out perfectly, for she wanted this event to be their last one.

When Cole placed his metal skate on the rink, he felt overconfident that he wold be able to do this. As soon as he placed his second skate on the slippery ice, he immediately lost balance and fell right on his behind. Charlotte couldn't help but to giggle as she skated over to him with grace, offering him a hand to help him up. "This time, I won't let you pull me down with you." She gave him a wink, and his cheeks fired up immediately.

"You just wait." Cole muttered cheekily as he took her hand in his, pushing his body up so he was standing again. Charlotte held his hand still, telling him to follow her lead and to stay close to her. He did as she said, and soon enough he was gliding across the ice without her aid. A wide grin came on his lips as he looked over at Charlotte, who clapped her hands together in glee as she saw him skate by. "I'm getting better at this by the day." Cole chuckled as she caught up to him, sarcasm laced through his words.

"Don't get too cocky now." She returned a laugh as she hooked her arm around his. The sun had finally set, and the outdoor rink was illuminated by not only the street lights, but the red and green string lights strung across the rink to give it a holiday glow. Stars speckled high in the sky above them, yet the most beautiful star that Cole had ever seen was skating next to him across the ice.

The two of them skated for a while as people filed in and out of the rink as their times came to an end. Charlotte stood in front of Cole, using his shoulders to balance herself. She had that gorgeous grin on her face that flashed her bright, white teeth. Her green eyes had this youthful light to them that just drew him into her. She was a breath of fresh air on a miserable day that Cole craved to have.

One of his hands moved from her hip to her cheek as he began to lean in, pressing a soft kiss to her pink lips. She couldn't stand up on her tip toes due to the skates, so he had to lean down more than usual. Charlotte moved her lips in sync with his as she kissed him back, enjoying the moment with him. She brought her own hands up to cup his pink, wind whipped cheeks while she kissed him back.

All too soon, their time at the rink was up. Without tripping and falling, the two of them made it out of the rink in one piece. They took their skates off before returning them to the man currently working. Charlotte and Cole slipped their shoes back on and began their trek out of the Rockefeller Center. Once they reached the parking lot, Cole finally broke the silence. "My roommate is gone again, so if you'd like to stay the night you can." A small grin came on his lips.

"Honestly, I was going to stay the night even if your roommate was there." She shrugged her shoulders as they reached his car. Cole cocked a brow at her, but she just sent him a mischievous smile. "Why are you looking at me like that?" She questioned him playfully as she twirled a piece of her hair around her fingertip. "We could just chase him out."

Cole just shook his head as he pulled out of the parking lot, turning the radio volume down a bit more so that he could hear her. "You're something else." He let out a small, content sigh as he glued his eyes to the road. Today had been the best day he'd had in a long time, and he couldn't have been any happier at how it turned out. Even without all of the eventful things that he did, he still knew that he would have had a fun time just lounging around with Charlotte all day. It seemed to become his favorite way to spend his free time.

"Are you joking me? Why don't you fight me then, punk?" Charlotte scoffed as she reached over and gently punched Cole's toned bicep. He shot her a small glare, yet her smile was as innocent as ever. Honestly, he couldn't help but to laugh at her silly statement. She did not appreciate the chuckle that he gave her though. Charlotte crossed her arms before she scrunched up her nose. "You don't think I could win a fight against you?"

"Not at all, sweetheart." He emphasized the last word, sending a wink her direction as he focused back on the road. "I could pin you down so easily that you wouldn't even see it coming." Cole chuckled as he pulled up at campus, taking the keys out of the ignition.

"Well, I think otherwise." Charlotte scoffed as she got out of his car, and once he was out they were on their way back to his dorm. "I may be tiny, but I can still kick your âss." She crossed her arms over her chest like a child. Cole couldn't help the smile on his lips as they made it back to his dorm and he opened the door.  Charlotte immediately ran in, pulling out a chair at the dining table for him. "Sit here, stay here, and don't question me." She warned before she waltzed off to the kitchen.

Cole complied to what she said and sat down in the chair. While he sat there on his phone, Charlotte was in the kitchen area sticking candles into the delicious chocolate cake she had got. The words "Happy Birthday Cole" were written in cursive across the top of the cake. She wished she would have had the time to bake him one, but it was hard to try and do that in her dorm. A pre-made cake would have to suffice. Once all the candles were in, she got out a lighter and lit all of the candles.

Soon enough, she was holding the plate that the cake was sat on top of in her small hands as she made her way carefully back to Cole. He glanced up just in time to here her start singing to him. "Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you..." Charlotte sang joyfully, causing Cole to drop his phone out of his hands and onto the tile floor. "Happy birthday to Coooollle..." She sat the cake down in front of him, the candle's flame dimly lighting his surprised features. "Happy birthday to you." Charlotte came up behind him, dragging her hands from his shoulders down to his chest. "Make a wish." She whispered in his ear.

If the lights in the kitchen were on, Charlotte would probably see tears in his eyes beginning to form. He was so shocked when she brought that cake out and began singing that anything else that may have been on his mind was forgotten. When she touched his chest, it brought him back to reality. He took in a deep breath once he thought of a wish before he blew out his candles, receiving a few excited claps from Charlotte. "I hope your wish comes true." She beamed before she took out a knife to cut the cake.

He hoped his wish came true too. Cole wished that this stupid bet would vaporize into thin air, although he knew that was highly unlikely. He wished that he could live in a world where he could be happy with Charlotte by his side. It was all he wanted, yet it was too much to ask for. This woman drove him insane, yet he couldn't get away from her. Here she was, cutting his birthday cake that she brought him. Cole looked down at the two pieces of cake before him as Charlotte sat down on the chair next to him.

He quickly reached his hand over and took her soft hand into his. "I'm not sure how you pulled this off, or how you knew that today was my birthday." Cole paused for a second as he brought her hand up to his lips. "But thank you." The words escaped his larynx in a whisper as he pressed his lips to the back of her hand, making her blush lightly.

The two of them chatted quietly as they finished up their cake. Charlotte had leftover icing on her plate once she was done, and a mischievous idea popped into her brain. She swiped her finger into the icing and waited until Cole had his back to her. As soon as he turned around, Charlotte jumped like a spider monkey onto his back and wiped the chocolate icing down his cheek.

"Charlotte–" Cole stumbled slightly as her weight hit him in the back and he felt a sticky substance on his cheek. "Alright, you want a fight?" He contorted his body in all different directions so that he could grab hold Charlotte. Once she was no longer clung to his back, he picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder. She squealed as he wrapped his arms around the backs of her legs, a small smirk on his lips. "Let's fight then, princess."

Charlotte began to complain about how he was cheating, which of course he wasn't. "Wait, take me to the kitchen again. I have something for you." She pointed towards the kitchen, and Cole began to walk back to where she had pointed. There, sat on the counter, was a neatly wrapped gift box. "Pick it up." She hit his shoulder gently, encouraging him. He picked up the gift, gazing at the intricate pattern of the wrapping paper. Internally, he was overwhelmed with a childish joy that he couldn't quite explain.

This was the first present that Cole had ever received.

"Well, are you going to open it or just stare at it?" Charlotte teased as she twisted a piece of his dark hair around her fingertip. Cole rolled his eyes playfully at her as he carried her back over to his bed, letting her down so that she could sit with him. He removed the bow from the gift, and Charlotte took it out of his hand and stuck it on the top of his head. "It suits you." She stuck her tongue out, a smile creeping on her lips.

He began to remove the wrapping paper to reveal a white box with tape on the sides. Carefully, he removed the small pieces of tape and opened up the lid. There sat in the box was the black beanie and matching glove set that she had bought for him. "You always complain about not having a beanie, so I bought you this set to keep you warm." She beamed, small crinkles appearing at the corners of her eyes. He ran his thumb over the soft fabric, just admiring the material. There was one last thing in the box. Three cards wrapped together with ribbon. Each of them said something different after the words "Open When..."

So this is what it felt like to receive a birthday present. He really didn't want to cry in front of Charlotte, but it was really hard not to. She took him to all of these special places today, got him a cake, and bought him his first ever birthday present. He was overwhelmed with emotions that it was hard to hold back the waterfalls wanting to pour out of his eyes. "Charlotte, thank you." She knew beforehand that this was his first ever present because of Dylan, so she understood the feelings rushing over him.

She ran her hand up and down his back in a calming manner, a smile put on her lips. "Happy birthday Cole." She said quietly as she leaned in to give him a peck on the cheek. Although, Charlotte was quite the cunning woman though. Cole was caught off guard as she pushed him down, getting on top of him with a smirk on her face. "And you doubted my fighting skills." She grinned as she held both of his hands between her own.

Cole rolled his eyes as he set the gift down on his nightstand, gazing up at Charlotte. "You really count this as fighting? I wouldn't get too cocky." He said as he began to sit up from beneath her. She did everything to keep him down, including using the covers on both sides of him to try and stay anchored down to the bed. Cole was too strong though, and soon he was sitting up with his back to the wall. Although Charlotte may not have known exactly how this happened, she was now sitting up with her back pressed up to Cole as she sat between his legs with two strong arms hooked around her waist.

"You know, you're a cheater." Charlotte pouted like a child as she attempted to push Cole's arms off of her. Alas, she couldn't even move either of his arms an inch as her efforts soon came to an end. She leaned back against him, a small sigh of defeat leaving her lips. Cole couldn't help but to laugh lightly as he loosened his grip around her waist. His large hands traveled from her sides, then gently across her belly, and then all the way down to her thighs.

Cole moved slightly so that he could access her neck, pressing light kisses against the soft skin. Chills were sent down her spine as she breathed in a sharp breath. He took one of his hands and started to move it carefully under the hem of her sweater, trailing gently up her stomach. His other hand crept over to her inner thigh, giving it a light squeeze. Cole stopped his motions for a moment as he looked at Charlotte, as if silently asking for her permission. She squirmed under his touch, giving a small whine as his motions came to a halt.

She placed her own hand on top of his hand that rested upon her thigh, whimpering as she pushed his hand farther up. Cole moved his hand that was under her shirt slowly up to her chest as he felt the lace of her thin bralette. The hand that he had on her thigh moved until it was high enough to press a finger against her. A small gasp escaped her lips as he slowly began to rub her through her leggings, just to see how much of a rise he could get out of her.

She felt a feeling similar to what she had felt the other day on his lap, but much more enhanced. His large hand near her chest cupped her breast before he gently rubbed his thumb over the bud. A small, pleading whimper escaped her lips as he began to slip is fingers under her yoga pants to touch her skin through her panties. The lace patterns were prominent against his rough fingertips, and he'd kill to see them.

"Fûck, lace is so hot babygirl." Cole breathed hot air against her skin before he began to gently suck at the tender skin. He could feel how wet she was through her panties as his fingertips teased her core. "I bet that I can make you finish just by using my fingertips and my lips against your neck." He whispered seductively in her ear, making her legs feel weak as his lips went back to marking her soft skin.

He marked her beautiful skin with light purple hickies as he slipped his fingers under her panties. A moan finally escaped her precious lips as he pressed against her heat, rubbing in small, quick circles to keep her aroused. Her breathing became heavier as her legs began to quiver. Soon enough, she was softly moaning his name as she finished. A small smirk came to Cole's lips as he pressed soft kisses up her neck, then her jaw bone, then her cheek. "I love you." He whispered, his smile prevalent on his lips as he slipped his hands out of her clothes.

"Now, let's go get you changed."

6k READS! THNK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING THIS FAR, VOTING, AND COMMENTING!

Also yes I promised an update yesterday, but I got really tired last night. I apologize if there are any spelling errors because this chapter is about 89% spell checked.

Also quick question, should I keep dedicating every single day of the bet to a book chapter (like do a chapter for each day from day 15-day 30), or skip a day or two between if there's nothing eventful happening in that chapter?
