Sun blazed in the sky causing the air rising from the hood to ripple from heat. Laughter filled the interior as I created new lyrics when I forgot the real words.
His eyes met mine as a love song came on and my voice died in my throat cheeks heating up.
We trundled up the drive both still embarrassed, or more me embarrassed him grinning devilishly.
"Wow okay this place is huge." I stated gapping at the mansion/palace/castle/pack house thing. Only to find a large man waiting for them when they first pull up to the pack house. His teeth are bared and his eyes burn with anger.
Luke stiffened anger flashing across his face and he was out of the car before I could even register the mans hair color. I hadn't even unbuckled but yelling was already echoing through the glass.
"You planning on telling me you were leaving to go to the village?" Snarled the man as I opened the car door. "In a war-"
"This isn't war! I knew-"
"Clearly, Not!" Snapped the man. "I arrive to find the pack disorganized, and you off Lolligagging with a chick! I told you I'd picked out a suitable!"
"I choose who I will be with and I chose her!" Snarled Luke now looking as dangerous as I'd ever seen him.
"Uhhh..." I took it as a bad time to intervene but to get to the door where Troy and Axel was standing meant walking through the two men.
"Oh really so you'd leave you're pack defenseless and without an alpha-"
I turned my eyes on Luke as he roared their shouting intesifying about pack duty and being alpha. And in that moment it clicked.
"You're Lukes dad!" Both sets of pitch black eyes turned on me even as Troy and Axel signaled for me to shut my mouth.
"And you're the little bug my son has decided to bandy himself about with." Scoffed the man sneering at me, I felt ice drop down my spine but also anger flash through my chest. "Pathetic."
"Dont you say that about her!" Luke roared placing himself between us.
"Don't disrespect me boy." Growled his father and this time it was clear by the tone of voice and his bristled body this wasn't a father son arguement his father was going to strike. "I am al-"
"I!" Barked Luke "I-not you am Alpha. We decided that fight long ago."
Luke's father glared at his son clashing his canines.
"Do not disrespect me boy not for this leech! I chose a mate for you, Alpha Lincoln's daughter is of pure lineage, she will finally Seal your fate as the true-"
"I told you before I will not go through-"
"On that phone call? Oh yes. Throwing away everything for some worthless street whor-"
Luke bellowed in anger seizing his dad by the front of his shirt and toss him into the car. There was shattering glass and the breaking of metal even as Luke shifted. My eyes catching a glimpse of something brightly colored around his wrist.
"LUKE NO!"
Several things happened at once Luke's father crumpled to the ground coughing, Troy and Axel raced forward and I threw myself at the giant wolf lunging for the throat of the withered sick old man.
Luckily for me I landed both arms around his head and neck covered his eyes as I yelled for him to stop.
A snarling roar erupted from the giant black beast as he threw me off. I was already leaping to my feet even as I hit the ground.
"NO!" I was between them in an instant. Luke stopped short even as Troy bellowed my name. The giant wolf before me snarled baring its teeth at me, the hair on his body raised, ears pointed backwards.
"What are you doing fool?" the wheezy cough from behind me only steadied my trembling hands.
"Luke." he snarled snapping his giant teeth right in my face making my wince, but I stayed where I was. "You don't want to do this."
Luke roared the red flecks in his iris's burning like wildfire as he tried to side step me, however I moved with him.
"Its not worth it Luke. Back down."
Luke roared in anger at me and leapt to the side but I kept my body between his and his father. He lunged and I jumped only to have him roar and narrowly miss my arm with his teeth. He slashed at me with his nails, and ripped my sleeve making my heart skip a beat in fright. He was going to kill me to get to his father. But...
"I said NO!" Luke's wolf froze his eyes locked on mine as we stared each other down chests heaving from our dance. "NO! Luke."
His body was still like a rock but his nose twitched causing my hair to flit from the force of his breathing in my face. Within moments the red faded from his eyes returning them to a midnight blue black. I could read the horror in his eyes he had nearly ripped me to shreds they were quickly turning back to the color blue I loved as he thrust his head into my chest ears flattened back nose snuffling me in apology.
"I'm okay. I'm okay, it's alright." I ran trembling hands still shaking from adrenaline over his head and down his neck. His fluff was so soft so shiny and thick like what I imagined a bear skin rug crossed with fox fur and sheep to feel like.
"Better?" I asked him but he just continued to inspect me head moving up and down side to side as he made sure I wasn't injured.
"Fool," his father gasped "listening to her...like some dog..."
Luke roared again and this time I barely managed to seize him by the scruff but Axel And Troy leapt in between this time.
"Alpha He was going to kill you. I think you should stop now. She saved your life." Troy gave Luke's father an angry glare as he said this.
Luke's father looked stunned in fact I was too, despite being an idiot and stubborn as hell Troy never talked back or spoke like that to anyone higher or lower than him.
"Save me? Save me? Please as though he could have-"
Troy and Chris had each grabbed one of Lukes fathers arms and heaved him to his feet ignoring the alphas words.
"You think death is scary an alpha shouldn't hesitate to kill." He Scoffed and I could both see and feel Luke tensing up his hackles bared, eyes dark.
"Letting this girl stop you-so weak-"
I didn't hold back as I punched Luke's father in the face. The sound made everyone stare at me as I turned my eyes on his.
"Never! Ever call someone elses weak for not taking a life. It shows his strength that he could have taken a life but chose to hold back. Only the strong show mercy." I hissed at him as the man stared down at me his cheek red even as my hand throbbed with pain. "And never throw your life away. You're a father not just an old alpha, don't force your son to live in a world without you. Don't force anyone to live in a world without you, let alone, one where they took you from them themselves." I was snarling in anger by the end, the scenes of a trashed car and bloodied knocked over bench before my eyes, rather than a shamefilled old mans. "Be grateful I dont kill you myself."
Before I could get angry enough the punch him agai, I released his shirt dropped him back onto his ass and turned striding towards the giant black wolf and wrapping my arms around his neck, burying my face in his beautiful black fluff. Hiding the tears filling up my eyes. I could feel Lukes muscles still rigid with anger still feel the heat rolling off him in waves, despite this I could feel him snuggle me with his great head in a giant wolfy hug.
"Whats your name?" the quiet husky voice was loud in my ears as Luke growled at his father once more.
"Aurora, Aurora King." I mustered up The courage to say not turning to face him grateful my voice stayed even.
"Thank you Miss King. Please take good care of him."
The words shocked me and I spun around releasing the giant angry wolf to see the old mans back hobbling into the house with Axel.
"What..." but he had already disappeared and a disgruntled growl and harsh butt of a head in my back reminded me Lule was still here.
He jerked his head towards the garage and mustering up what was left of my energy and courage, I followed him.

"Please just stay in that form." She declared cheeks rosy as she sat beside the fireplace. "I don't want to see you naked, nor am I ready to look at you just yet."
Luke let out a snort of anger and hurt from her words but she averted her eyes from his fluffy form hands running through her chocolate hair.
"I'm still embarrassed. I punched your dad, not to mention clung onto you like that. God he must think I'm a weirdo. YOU must think I'm a weirdo." She buried her face in her hands.
Luke couldn't help but feel warm in his chest as he realized his mate was embarrassed and possibly even feeling humiliated.
Leaning forward just a small amount, for being a horse sized wolf thats all he really needed to do, his prodded under her hand with his nose.
"Stop it." but she had giggled even as she pulled further away rubbing at her cheek where his nose had touched. Luke still cautious leaned in again and moved his wet in her ear snuffling. A shrieking giggle escaped her lips and her body jerked, contorting away from him even as her cheeks turned red and her eyes twinkled.
A wag of a tail and a low rumble in his chest was the only warning she got before he rolled forward and began shoving his nose against every piece of skin he could find. Recieving shrieks of laughter and finally hands grabbing at his fury head ears and jaws trying desperately to halt his assualt.
When she was finally the color of cherry pie he stopped and just stare down at her.
Aurora lay laughing and wiping her eyes, she had laughed so hard she was crying. He took in everything, her chocolate colored waves splayed out like a halo, her cheeks crimson with mirth, twinkling blue eyes staring up at him with a warmth and light to them hed hardly seen there before. Chest still heaving Aurora let her arms fall to her sides as still giggling she looked up at the huge wolf above her his massive paws on either sides or her shoulders and ankles. If he laid down now shed be squished. But that thought didnt matter to her.
"Come here." and leaning up slightly she held out both arms to him and Lukes heart stopped beauting as a natural sweet joyous smile broke out across her face. And Luke aquessed. There they stayed for many moments the giant wolf with its head lowered his Luna hanging from his neck foreheads pressed together.
However Thirteen Hours Earlier
"I DONT WANT TO!" Luke was trying to keep his cool and Aurora in his grip so that she didn't throw herself across the room at the harpy being escorted out by Chris her hands held tight behind her arms.
"Aurora, lets go. Forget-"
"GET BACK HERE YOU BITCH!" Roared Aurora limbs flailing in his arms, hitting him more than anything or anyone else. "CHRIS YOU LET HER GO! I SWEAR I'LL RIP HER HEAD OFF MYSELF!"
Luke did find this burst of rage cute however he refused to encourage it seeing as it would end up with Aurora no doubt running off and trying to kick the crap out of the rouge he'd been interrogating.
"If you stop we can go get changed and head out into town unless you don't want to go on our date?" Luke knew she would probably keep flialing in fact he was counting on it as he really needed to cancel their date with the way things were panning out this morning.
Intead Aurora went Limp.
"Ok l-lets g-go." everyone in the room could see her scarlet cheeks and the almost robotic type movements she was making. It was adorable, if not scary how fast she had switched from cut a bitch to awkward virgin who'd never been asked out before.
"Well boss that plan backfired now you have to go." Luke's hearing allowed him to pick up Georges whisper even as Auroras didnt.
"Thanks." but he was happy to see her excited if not overwhelmed and flustered by their "date".
Hopefully the rest of the day would play out just as well.
